  1. Matzzon is correct, the boy can apply for his passport on his own but Until he reaches the age of 20 and becomes an adult then he still needs the paperwork from the amphur and therefore the mother will still have to go to the amphur to sign to show custody etc.

However if the mother comes to Thailand to go to the amphur then she will get that paperwork immediately and can then accompany her son going to the passport office on the same day. The passport generally takes about five days but she can pay 3,000 baht for an emergency passport and get that the next day, if she wants to cut the time down.

The one thing the OP has not mentioned, and will probably be the hardest thing to get, is the boys visa for the UK.

  2. Your best bet is to hire a pickup from Budget Car Hire.

what you describe should fit on it no problem, and you pay an extra charge and you can leave the pickup at the Budget office in Pattaya.

    Job done.

  3. My wife had work in an amphur this morning and she asked the question for you and unfortunately the answer is no, you cannot get that document as you are not Thai and have no Thai id card.

If you would like any other info about what you can do then you are welcome to give her a call and discuss it.

I will send her details to you by personal message.

  4. They can get divorced in Thailand but the marriage needs to be registered at an amphur first.

The OP would need to take the original marriage certificate to the Australian Embassy for them to certify it as a true certificate. It then needs to be translated and stamped as a true copy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This then needs to be registered at an amphur and he can then divorce in Thailand so long as there are acceptable reasons of course.

    oven

How big does the oven have to be???

Have you thought about getting one of the small convector ovens that all the supermarkets sell. If you don't know these they are like a large glass bowl with a filament and fan fixed in the lid so that it blows the heat down into the bowl. They have temperature and timer controls etc..

They are fantastic and are good for everything from pizzas to whole roast dinners.

  5. Seems odd that the OP has never posted since his first post, he never answered the PM either, so was it a troll???

    HL

    I rest my case!

Or maybe the simpler answer could be either, he got the answer he was looking for somewhere else, or he became bored that no one has actually given an answer to his original question "Looking for a solicitor/lawyer".

You can't really say that without knowing what I put in my PM that I sent to the OP. as it happens I did include a reference to a Lawyer.

  6. Are you talking about a "Freedom to marry" affidavit from the Embassy? If so there are local places near to Wireless Road who can do the deed so it's acceptable for the Ministry of Silly Walks(Foriegn Affairs) in BKK

Sorry cannot help with a good lawyer in Sisaket but can tell you about a bad one!!!!

Indeed there are many places near to there. Good services too.

The OP should really explain what he need translated as he says "from Thai court to English"

Would be interesting to see some links to the suggestions that the MFA and embassies have lists of accredited transaltors.

Website only state the "the translations should be certified as true" by the translator.

    No mention of any accreditation.

This is exactly what my wife does. She has a special rubber true translation stamp which she then signs on each and every copy.

  7. My wife is a translator and interpreter and I have sent you a pm with her details in case you are interested.

Not picking on HH but be advised that unless the translator is recognized by the MFA and these documents have to go to them for finalization your wasting your time and money. I know of quite a few individuals that have their documents refused by the MFA for this reason.

You could well be right which is why I told the OP the same thing in the PM I sent him.

  8. If you are into the football then it has to be CTH as this is the only supplier that shows the premier league.

It doesn't matter where you are based in Thailand, you can get either True or CTH as they are both satellite based.

Otherwise look at one of the internet based tv providers like "ilikehdtv.com".

  9. Getting Thai passports is a piece of cake, you ought to worry about getting your UK visa's from the Embassy!!

My wife has been to England three times in the past, never had a problem, so keep my fingers crossed. This time I hope to take our 7 year old daughter with us. We only want to stay for 4 weeks during my daughters school holiday.

Thank you for all your help and advice guys, much appreciated.

I wasn't necessarily talking about problems just about the drawn out rigmarole that you have to go through to prove they intend coming back to Thailand. My wife has been with me three separate times so far but I still hate the system.
