The only article I see where Thailand recieved a donation of 200,000 doses from India can't be linked here.

It says it was to arrive in Thailand on the 25th, so should already be here.  However it also says it is being distributed to government hospitals to be used for those who have not been vaccinated yet.

Thank You, I'll try my local government hospital

My wife tried calling the oldplace and the phone was picked up with someone explaining they have indeed moved to a new location nearby. I have the streetname and hopefully we will have time coming week to bring them a visit as I was always happy with the speed and thoroughness of the Thai guy working at the old place.

I have a GM5501 also by the way, and my starter (the rope pulling thing on the top) broke down (second time in 3 years), so i guess he can just replace it again and I am good to go.

I was there Wednesday, they have the carb for a reasonable price. I will take my mower over there next week and have installed.

  3. Asgatec has moved over close to the Phuket Zoo. They seem to be going out of the garden equipment business as the web site doesn't work, emails not answered, etc.  I spoke with a woman in Phuket and she seemed to be the manager and she gave me directions how to find the place. I tried to call her after I had mower GM 5501 serviced and my calls were never answered. There was one mechanic at the shop, he managed to get my mower started and sharpened the blade to give it more cutting efficiency. Charged me 500 B.

Got it home, not easy to start and low power output to cut my lawn.

My go to repair place close to Thai Watsadu says there is a problem with the carburetor (has some funky governing mechanism). The shop does not have a carb that will fit my machine and I have had no luck trying to order from Asgatec.  If I'm down Chalong way I'll stop by the shop and see is they have a carb there.

    Good Luck!

First kind looks like Booth 7 or 8

    Second is Buccaneer.

Both fairly good tasting if allowed to ripen properly.

Disclaimer, Thailand is full of ungrafted seedlings, the first set could just be someone’s unique seedling. Each one will grow slightly different than the mother tree.

thank you very much, I have read your posts with interest often over the years. first set is a grafted ????

Look like standard Thai avocados.... forgot the technical name.

As somebody on here warned me... the spend too long being unripe, and then go bad very quickly. I went back to the smaller, Western variety.

there are two different types shown, I am more interested in the smaller, less round variety as I prefer the flavour

  6. Any help on what type of avocado these are will be much appreciated. The trees have quite large leaves, the fruit is medium size, slightly elongated, slightly rough skin texture and grow in small clusters much more than individual fruits.

Two photos of that type and one of the larger, rounder, smoother skinned type for comparison.

    Thank you

Living out there you know better than me, but man that sounds like an uphill battle. Best case scenario you have an influencial neighbor that really, really, really does not like you.

Maybe preaching to the choir but I would assuredly pass unless you got some serious backup from everyone else in the area.

I couldn't figure how to edit original post. Influential neighbor was not really correct as used in LOS. This guy is just REALLY rich. A REAL uphill battle would be making water flow up hill; fortunately as mentioned in my post the local Or Bor Tor will be on the front line, not me. There is of course more to the story, but not for discussion here.

You can check Civil and Commercial Code.

Section 1339.  The owner of a piece of land is bound to take the water that flows naturally on to it from higher land. Water that flows naturally on to lower land and is necessary to such land may be retained by the owner of the higher land only to such extent as is indispensable to his land.

Section 1340. The owner of a piece of land is bound to take water coming to it from the higher land in consequence of the artificial drainage of the higher land, if before the drainage the water flowed naturally on to his land. If any damage is suffered by reason of such artificial drainage, the owners of the lower lands may, without prejudice to any claim for compensation, require the owner of the higher land, at the latter's expense, to carry the drainage right through the lower lands to a public waterway or drain.

Also find out who and when road and culvert were built.  If government owned road I'm sure they will want to know current situation.

Thank you very much, that is exactly what i am looking for. The road was built in 2005, originally without a culvert. I believe the "crossing" was done by local landowners, I don't have photos of when the culvert was put in. The owner of the big piece of land was fully aware of the situation as evidenced by the culvert built in 2014 connecting to the natural drainage. The single culvert under the road was inundated in 2017 causing flooding down the road and breaking out through the wall where the water flow turned left. Will be interesting if I can't get the culvert opened again before the next big rain and all the creek flow goes down the road. The Or Bor Tor  is presently doing major upgrade on the road so thankfully they will be doing the discussion with the landowner who is trying to play the "artificial drainage" card regarding the culvert under the road onto his land. Section 1340 clearly does not give him the right to block the water flow. Thanks again, your info is a huge help for my planning.

  9. I have a piece of land blessed with a natural flowing creek ( i am at the base of a "mountain"). On the downhill side of the property is a small road and the water passes through a culvert. The landowner (influential person) on the other side of the road has blocked the end of the culvert and is in the process of building a substantial retaining wall as well. His land is the only place the water can go and he is refusing to allow it to happen. The Or Bor Tor agrees with me especially as their road will be washed away, but they say the landowner has the right to stop the water because a natural watercourse is not shown on the land title.

Any thoughts and especially a law that covers this story, in Thai or English much appreciated. I would like to have some prior knowledge before talking to a lawyer.

    The rains are coming!!

  10. Perfect !! Thank you so much !! I gave in to my gardener and let him apply 15-15-15 chemical fertilizer instead of compost that i have been using for years. Seems to be the trigger.

I am unfamiliar with insecticidal soap, is it available in LOS?

Thanks again, your info is highly appreciated. I am not much of a green thumb, but do enjoying eating fruit from my own trees. ????

I had the problem with a Maxxis + Stan's, but it self sealed eventually. Seems to be a common theme with Stan's and light walled tyres [like the S-works]. Maybe a change of sealant might work.

Thanks for that, good idea as I need to be topping up the sealant anyway. Have had the tire on the bike since July but only have done about 15 rides on it. The leaking started recently.

Looks like "defective" tyres, did you get them over here? if so the dealer should take them back if He is reputable.

My riding mate "Texas Bob"  had a similar problem with some expensive 700 x 25 tubeless "blowing off the rim" unexpectedly, could have been a real tragedy, the dealer (Pop of Cycling Popular Pong village Pattaya) took them back

    and replaced without any quibble.

    Edit.

Incidentally, you may not know that one of the best and most decent  young mechanics has a shop over the other side of  lake Mabrachan on the darkside, his name is 'Pop"

    Here is his FB page , well worth a visit, I would highly recommend him for his ability and integrity;

A friend bought for me in Singapore. First reply from Specialized in the states is asking for a receipt to start warranty claim process. We'll see what happens.

  14. Anyone ever heard of this? Stans sealant appears to be leaking thru tire sidewall, both sides of tire all around circumference. Photos clearly show what seem to be "lines" in the rubber made during manufacture.
