1. Puzzled and confused as ever.

Are we saying that SKing is a sponsor? In process?

Never mind. I found the web site.

Cannot tell for sure if a customer can go to the place and buy - say a kilo of meatloaf and other fzn dinners. Gather so from remarks, but this is not suggested on their web.

However, there are two addresses - and the site's hours, which are in reference to deliveries, and they jump about.

So, FINALLY, I arrive: Where do I go to buy (aside from Rimping) and when? Google maps helps, but with two addy's and unclear hours....

Thanks in advance for those who have been there.

You can go to his place to buy but its in San Sai out of town and not so easy to find, so he focus's on DELIVERY of his productsinto Chiang mai and also using Meals on Wheels if you don't want to buy from the supermarket just call the number and order and it can be delivered right to you.

Not sure if he has a place in town that you can go to other than the Supermarkets

  2. A bunch of farangs got busted for working without a work permit in Chiang Mai about 12 years ago. Those that paid a big "fine" were allowed to continue doing so and those that refused were locked in the immigration jail for months and then shipped home with a banned stamp in their passport.

I see loads of bar owners behind there bars working happily away when its obvious they don't have a permit to do, the reason they can do it is there is no enforcement so they are not scared of the BIB at the moment but like many issues one day the BIB will have a crackdown for a day and many will be heading home or will be incarcerated with a big fine pending release.

  3. A company beginning with the letter D make cheese here in CM....

really not worth buying though imho, as it has almost no

taste/flavour, even the goat cheese is unbearably bland UNLESS

you bake it on a pizza, then there is a hint of goat about it...

maybe this has to do with the milk quality here in CM?

    David

oh good we've got a new game top play, guess the cheese shop. my guess is dacheeso. whats the prize?

    He is lying

    thats not cheese

  4. If I am correct from reading another post this enquirery is about milk and not beef. If you want a supplier of cheap fresh milk (not pasturized) then go to the Chiang Mai university agriculture department. If I remember they sell 1 liter for 25 baht. They may reduce that cost if purchasing large orders.

If you are going to make cheese, I would recommend taking a cheese making course from a professional. There are too many people trying to make cheese without the proper technique and it can be fatal. Botulism is nothing to take lightly. But since you are a professional butcher and probably make salamis and other dry cured products you know the risks.

    good luck

If it is for beef, then sorry to waste your time.

thank you for you reply and like making sausage and bacon we manufacture in a professional way as not to have things like botulism and all our food products have to go to be lab tested for the FDA which we hold certificate for and we have our own team who are specialist in cheese making and we need only raw ingredients and milk is one of the products we need. i have been to the agriculture department at the majo university and this is ok but they cant supply my company in the long term. i was not aware that there was an other agriculture dept at chiang mai university ?? but thanks for you reply and we will offer you a piece of our cheese to try first when made. i think it will do you more good than harm. Rob.

good idea and if you survive it I'm up for a couple of kilos :D

I'm all up for hints of Goats :D

  6. While I applaud your desire to go into the cheese business and wish you all the best of luck. I would likt to suggest that you do a little study on cheese and the cows they come from....... I see you are looking for beef cattle farms in CM. Could I be so bold as to suggest, politely. that if you are going into the cheese business, wouldn't "Dairy Cows " be a better source ???

 yes we have found some dairy cow at majo uni project but looking a well established farm and we are doing our home work. wow i writing in small case now ha ha

Yeah but now you screwed up your QUOTES LOL

We wont be too hard on you you will get it in the end

  7. I have one of his steak and onion pies. After I try I'll put my 3 satang in on it. :D Kind makes me wounder why he is looking for Thai beef farms.:whistling:

THE REASON FOR LOOKING FOR THAI COW IS WE ARE THINKING OF MAKING CHEESE

Thai cheese? This could be interesting.

Well cheese is easy to make and I am surprised no one has been able to make a decent cheese in thialand lets face it I love cheese and its expensive here so if someone made a decent local cheese i would be a buyer for sure paying 200 baht a time for a little block is ridic but i love cheese so gotta do it.

but your right that would be a challenge here

  8. I AM VERY SORRY THAT YOU GOT BANNED FOR A MONTH FOR USING THE WORD SK ? AS FOR STILL BEING AROUND IN BUSINESS THEN QUALITY ALWAYS WINS IN THE END.

ITS NOT THE SIZE OF THE SAUSAGE! ITS WHAT ITS MADE FROM, HA HA

CHEERS AND GLAD YOU LIKE SK PRODUCTS. ROB.

Why you shouting ? no need to use the caps for the whole message its considered shouting and while I understand you want to shout out about your business from the roof tops its considered bad ettiqute on forums so do yaself a favor and lose the all caps

As for being suspended for a month I do enjoy a vacation from Thai Visa every now and again so its all good.

I gotta order some currys too as I see the price is a very reasonable 100 baht what sort of size is that ? same as before or have you shrunk them to offer at such a cheap price

  9. Go to the lights at the end of the night Bazzar and head down Chang Klan road just as you go over just past butter is better the road has a fork where you can turn right take that turning and head down that road and on your left just before the lights there is a decent pet shop there

  10. Well if some of you remember the Jabberwhocky sausages when they were around and a sponsor on TV <comment in violation of forum rules deleted> well low and behold JABBEWHOCKY are no more Tonys sausage House is no more but quietly in the back ground the Sausage King with his massive sausage is still in business and has been around for the past few years and has outlasted all other competitors.

I guess he must be doing something right to outlast all the other sausage makers and still be in the game I see he is even a TV sponsor now

I still think his sausages are the best and I feel pretty confident he is now a sponsor that i wont get suspended for saying so

Im off to chomp down a one of his big sausages right now. CUMBERLAND I think

I guess if I am giving him a plug should include his website http://www.sausageking1.com/

  11. i'd say most pharmacies in the sukhumvit area will stock it. are you sure its prescription only? i'm sure i've seen it for sale at the footpath stalls on sukhumvit around nana/asoke

Get caught with it on you and you will quickly find out that its a controlled substance.

I believe a few searches will show arrests for possession

Here are a couple of arrests to be going on with

  12. There's not very much I know for sure, but one of the things I know for sure is that my daughter loves me very much. One of her ways of expresssing that love is to punch me in the gut several times per day. Your mileage may vary.

My Mrs of 4 years or so used to do the same thing when I first met her she also pulled a knife on me ONCE, I made it very clear that hitting me is not acceptable behaviour and pulling a Knife means immeditate termination of the realtionship PERIOD NO EXCUSES

Since that time she has never done either again

If you let it happen thats up to you make it very clear that its not acceptable to you and you will leave her if she continues but be prepared to follow through.

If you like it leave it as is

Many guys I know have there women pull knives on them hit them etc what do you expect when its drummed into them via thai soap operas since they were kids

  13. No my computer had a hickup for a second

You must be getting pretty frustrated, considering you have seen fit to open two threads on the same subject.

Well since its a prescription drug the advice will be go to a doctor and get a prescription any advice other than that the thread will be closed as its a controlled drug even if it can be found from other avenues

  14. Mods are supposed to be getting back with a policy on what you can and cannot say about a business I personally think if a business treats its customers like shit or the foods crap then you should be able to say so anything else is BS in my opinion.

The whole idea of forums and communitys is to help each other out and avoid bad business's and reccomend good business's that take care of there customers.

Unfortunately Thai VIsa seems to be more focused on chasing the dollar/baht and i am sure others agree when I say it takes away from the whole purpose of a community forum when your not allowed to say anything bad about sponsors and now looks like you cant say anything about any other business that treats there customers like shit and theres now way to warn potential victims to steer clear of a dodgy business that has shown time after time they rip farangs off.

Its a slippery slope were headin

Thai visa tries to follow Thai law, which on the point of libel is very different from the law in Western countries. Under Thai law the thruth in itself is no defence against libel. It is more a question of if someone loses "face" by another persons remarks. To be not libelous, a remark must not only be thruthfull, but also there must be a public interest in making the remarks, which outweights the interests of the person or business the remarks where made about.

Not only the person making the remark can be prossecuted under criminal law, but also the person publishing it/spreading it further.

We have no way of checking if a persons statement is true or not.

I understand its a tricky issue for TV but there has to be a way around it to stay away form libel while still allowing the community to warn other against a certain business

How about something like the reputation buttons you got going that way nothing is said but the reputation will say it all and will at least give someone a heads up to avoid a business that consistently treats it customers like shit

    Could be something like

Hi guys what do you think about this business

    _ +

Its would say it all without saying nothing at all.

  15. One thing that annoys me a bit is when my Mrs son talks to his dad on the phone l am referred to, by the boy, as farang :ermm:. Everybody knows my name. Though l don't know what there talking about when finished l <deleted> him, he laughs. Perhaps this off topic and is another issue but..........

I would be offended by that especially since he knows your name from what i understand if somone dont know your name and calls you farang its ok as a reference however if they know your name and still refer to you as farang thats when it becomes a derogatory term.

  16. Ok

went out today thinking I should start the bike up as its been couple of months and low and behold its dead as a dodo its vulcan 900 2008 so i guess Im looking to by a trickle charger to keep the battery in good shape as I still wont be able to ride for a few more month due to my accident

si anyone out there know where I can by a trickle charger from preferably in Chiang Mai

    cheers

  17. it could be better if the forum admins would turn on the display of the member's reputation under his avatar, together with Group, posts and join date.

Then it would be cool if the displayed reputation was only taking into account points given by own friend members.

That sounds much worse! BTW, please read my topic on IRONIC FRIENDING.

I want to point out again, this poll is NOT about whether the rep feature should be killed en masse. That ain't gonna happen. The question is IF we were given the option to TURN OFF the feature only for ourselves, would we use that option.

    worse than what?

I'd be happy to be able to recognize d*ckheads right away if my friends already gave them plenty of negatives.

"Ironic friending" is nonsense for me.

It is the same as giving good marks to a skater who botched his program.

Ironic friending defeats the purpose of the friends feature and giving users the option to opt out of reputation defeats the purpose of the rep feature.

The real problem is how easy it is to setup multiple accounts.

I dont think its working right then cause I'm a <deleted> and I have more green than red so your theory is flawed :D

  18. Here is an amalgamation of reasons why Thaivisa is careful regarding libel/defamation (the amalgamation of reasons are from various moderators/admins) :

First off, Defamation is a criminal act in Thailand and defamation does not have to be false, it has to be damaging.

To be safe, the forum would have to check that the OP's story is true as told, or they might be exposed to a lawsuit for denigration or defamation. Similarly to French law, Thai Law makes the editor (i.e. the website owner or its chief editor) responsible for what is published on a forum, and this Law has precedence on Freedom of Speech. In USA, UK, Germany and Switzerland (and most anglo-saxon countries) Freedom of Speech is valued higher, and the responsibility lays on the poster.

Under Thai law the truth in itself is no defense against libel. It is more a question of if someone loses "face" by another persons remarks. To be not libelous, a remark must not only be truthful, but also there must be a public interest in making the remarks, which outweighs the interests of the person or business the remarks where made about. So publicly complaining about lousy service or a cockroach in the bread might be libel if it is an isolated incident, but if it is something that happens more than ones there might be a public interest that justify making it public.

Under libel laws not only the person making the remark can be held accountable, also the person further making it public, like a newspaper or a forum, can be held responsible.

..and yes that does mean my other topic initially naming the supermarket could be classed as libel. Strangely enough moderators are not infallible, nor are we legal experts, we just try to do our best.

I hope this answers your query as to why Thaivisa is careful regarding libel/defamation laws. We can only speak for ourselves.

Unfortunateley that allows the offending business to continue there actions without recourse nor allowing people to be informed to avoid the business

i did not want this t become a topic discussing thai visa policy as that will cause it to get shut down I wanted to find out how to protect and give a heads up to people about business's that have a history and are obviously out to rip farangs off

I wanted to find a way of warning people without breaking the defamation law.

to continue to cover for these business's is wrong
