As for him not getting extradited because of the death penalty ? They rarely give foreigners the death penalty and normally commute it to a life, meaning life, sentence. So it shouldn't be a problem NICE!!!!!!!!

I dount very much that he will be extradited back to Thailand now as the penalty is death and the UK will never extradite someone back to face the death penalty even if they rarely give foreigners the death penalty they wont extradite to a country that has the death penalty.

The smartest thing he could of done was get out and get home and plead innocent cause this is not going to be easy for Thailand now to get him back he will get a lawyer (for free of course) that will fight to not have him extradited, the cctv video could be argued its not him as his face is not clear but for sure now the law willbe fighting on his behalf as he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the UK

It's been almost two weeks now, and still no arrest. Makes me wonder if: a) The guy is off the island and hiding somewhere on the mainland, or: he realized what he'd done, and the consequences, and got the hel_l out of Thailand that night before the police had the chance to notify Immigration.

If he's still in Thailand then it's only a matter of time before someone eventually spots him and then the cops will move in. If he managed to get out of the country and get to Malaysia, Cambodia, Lao, or even Myanmar, he's going to stand out because of his "farang-ness" and his size and, again, it's only a matter of time before he's spotted.

I'm just wondering if the guy is doing steroids, which is a possibility, which may have lead to his "rage", and if so, then "roid rage" can strike at any time, leading to more violence. Plus, I have the feeling that with this guy's reported "ego", after a while he'll begin to think he's safe, just as he thought he was "invincible", and will come out in the open and perhaps even begin to "brag" about what he's done.

Regardless of which "scenario" he takes, or could take, they all end up the same way with him being caught. Unless he decides that suicide is a better option than Thai prisons. Unfortunately, for the American's family, there will be no peace, no closure till this man is captured and punished, or until he's dead.

Its not just the divers, its also the reception/reservation staff that are less than honest. I know of a dive shop in Phuket that has girls that worked in Coyote bars and even one that was sold into child prostituion at 14 yeras of age, now married to a diver...would you trust your credit card details with people like this working for them....not to mention trusting your life to a company like this.

Ive been a PADI instructor for the past 25 years (never taught in Thailand) and at no time has PADI ever given out an Instructor license on the basis of an instructor holding another agencys Instructor certificate what you have to do is called an Instructor crossover meaning you have to show you know what your doing and take the REGULAR Instructor exam to pass and gain certification just like I would have to do if I decided to take a Naui instructor course and have there instructor card.

Maybe when PADI first ever started they might of done that but that would of been in 1966 they are now the largest training agency in the world that certifys more divers than all other training agencys put together.

The BSAC elitist mentality has been around since PADI literally took over the certification business in the UK and while there are some Valid points in with Bad instructors issuing certificates to divers without them completeing the course this happens in all agencys and is down to bad instructors not the agency.

As a Proffessional diver for more than 25 years i have dove all over the world and amassed over 6000 dives however if I was to go home to the UK and dive I would certainly take advice from a regular British diver with a basic open water certification as he is way more experinced than me in those conditions and more experienced in British diving. the problem happens when people dont recognize the fact that while they are dive certified each area offers different conditions of diving and you need to take that into account.

it s my view based on what I see on news channels and read about in a variety of news publications both pro and anti Israel.

My personal view on this subject has changed over the past few years, prior to that i was completely pro Israel and understood there action however over the past few years that view has changed and so has my perspective of Israel and while I dont agree with HAMAS or that they dont recognize Israel the actions of Israel over the past few years are borderline criminal especially there action in Lebanon " overkill" there use of banned war munitions the ridiculous banned items denyng the palestinian children candy and toys continuing buidling in the settlement when they promised they would stop, I could on and on and on but my about turn is a result of years of what is portrayed as a one sided one rule of us and another for them.

I'm still reminded of the USA's refusal to extradite (or even name) the friendly fire pilots that the UK wished to interview with possible intention to prosecute for negligence (one particular case where a convoy was shot up that had clear markings, was on a planned and registered route and had working transponders).

To the OP, it is arrogant to expect that because you are a farang it should impart some sort of preferential treatment for your travelling partner. Plenty of working girls in Singapore and many of them ask customers to meet them in Thailand/Indonesia/Phillipines and to fly back with them precisely to try and avoid the situation where the girl is deported. Additionally Singapore doesn't ban for life, it's normally a 12 month ban. That is what all the girls I know got who were caught working and deported.

She's not my traveling partner, she's my Fiancé. In my phone I have pictures from London, Paris, New York, Beijing, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and many other places over a span of 7 years we have visited. I don't think its arrogant thinking, when I say I would be the guarantor. If you have traveled as much as I have with Thai significant others you would understand that many custom officers look to the person they travel with to make sure they have the financial means to be there. Much like they would look at a 18 year old to have someone financialy stable as well (there was a young European male backpacker that was refused entry as well for this reason). I'm American, I have a wallet full of credit cards and I'm able to support whatever disaster we run into. Including purchasing two one way tickets to get us the hel_l out of Singapore.

Regarding the ban for life, I only repeated what the inspector said to me in spite. I already confirmed that the document they passed on to us did not confirm that statement.

He is pretty much Fked as he went into the nearby 7-11 stole the knife off the counter that they use to cut the sausages, the police found the knife covered in blood 300 meters from the crime scene and it was identified as the same knife that was sole from the 7-11 by 7-11 staff he is on CCTV at the 7-11 stealing the knife which is confirmed as the murder weapon

One strange thing I read though was there was an extra knife found also covered in blood that belonged to the victims home and the cops dont know how that got there now since there are 2 knife wounds, one a non lethal one, and the other that killed him I think there should be some forensics to see which knife killed him. His thai girlfiend was at home and was woke and saw a guy running away .
