  2. Innovative and cost-effective Compliance Solutions for Digital Nomads, Freelancers, Startups, Entrepreneurs At https://InterTaG.org we have built a legal framework for anyone working in the Kingdom under the umbrella of a Social Enterprise, reinvesting 70% of our profits back into the 4000+ Royal social projects. We employ freelancers or digital nomads for a 12% service fee on a salary that we pay out monthly and pay their taxes directly to the Revenue Dep. (WHT). We use the BOI Smart Talent visa, endorsing and sponsoring the members of our community of entrepreneurs. This is different from the classic EOR (Employer of Records) business, which takes 30/35% of the existing revenues of the freelancers/digital nomads. We create an additional value stream for them and provide additional business opportunities within our network. This way, everyone contributes to Thailand's development. Social Enterprises (SE) were created by King Rama IX, opening a new way of development in between the non-profit and profit-oriented companies, which could auto-finance development projects. A SE can take donations like an NGO, is not subject to VAT, but pays a Special Business Tax on the remaining 30% of the profit that is not reinvested in development projects. Ourselves, we work on a social digital project called ThaiSprout Program, aiming to give a digital economic platform to the 8000 cooperatives with 12 million primarily rural members. We also help tech startups like ourselves to obtain a BOI certificate which leads to 100% foreign-owned companies, no 4 Thai for 1 foreigner employed rule, 8 to 11 years of tax exemption, and can buy 100% foreign-owned land. Consult us for your projects. We gladly assist! CONTACT INTERTAG FOR MORE INFORMATION https://InterTaG.org

  7. Thailand is open to international travelers without any restrictions or requirements, such as the formerly mandatory Thailand Pass or proof of vaccines. With that said, visas can be complicated and confusing for many people visiting the Land of Smiles. If you came to Thailand between October 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, you’re allowed to stay an additional 15 days (from 30 days to 45 days). Similarly, ‘Visa on Arrival’ has been increased from 15 days to 30 days. A list of countries is provided in this article. With that said, there are people who overstay their visas in Thailand. Those who do it intentionally are often unaware of how strictly the Thai government treats overstaying, while others might make mistakes and unintentionally follow rules that are intended for people from a different country. In this article, our friends from Pacific Prime explore the issues related to overstaying your visa in Thailand. Note: If you’re coming to Thailand after April 2023, there is no news about renewing the extension. It’s currently back to 30 and 15 days, respectively. How Long Can I Stay in Thailand? The approved length of stay in Thailand will depend on the passport you hold, but let us give you an example for better understanding. If you’re a passport holder of one of 64 countries that are eligible for 45 days extension, and you arrive in Thailand on January 1, 2023, you have until February 15, 2023, to leave before you get in trouble. This applies to the ‘Visa on Arrival’ countries too, but instead of 45 days in Thailand, it’s 30 days. Overstaying in Thailand - What to Expect The penalty for overstaying in Thailand is based on how many days you are allowed to stay. You will need to pay this fine at the airport immigration when you leave the country. Overstay Period Fee (in THB) Penalty Less than 90 Days ฿ 500/per day Just the fee More than 90 Days ฿ 20,000 1 year ban from entering Thailand +1 Year ฿ 20,000 3 year ban from entering Thailand +3 Years ฿ 20,000 5 year ban from entering Thailand +5 Years ฿ 20,000 10 year ban from entering Thailand If you’re overstaying for less than 90 days, the minimum fee is THB ฿500 per day. For example, if you overstay for a week, you must pay THB ฿3,500. The maximum fee will be THB ฿20,000. It can get complicated if you overstay for more than 90 days in Thailand. Not only will you be banned from entering Thailand for a year, but you’ll also be fined THB ฿20,000. The most severe punishment is for overstaying for more than 5 years, which carries a 10-year ban from Thailand and a THB ฿20,000 fine. It is crucial to adhere to Thailand's immigration rules to avoid facing these penalties. The Thai immigration authorities are aware that occasionally people make mistakes, such as booking flights on the wrong date or unexpected changes to travel plans (e.g. flight cancellations and delays). In short overstay situations like these, the THB ฿500 fine is generally scrapped. However, if you are overstaying for more than 90 days, it’s best to get legal help. What If You Get Caught Overstaying? There are two ways you can get caught overstaying in Thailand. If you know you’re overstaying, we recommend leaving the country and paying the fine before you face any serious trouble. The first way you can get caught overstaying is when you depart from Thailand. In this case, all you have to do is pay the fine. You can also get caught for overstaying while in the country. This can happen in different ways, and the outcome is not as good as leaving Thailand on your own terms. For example, you might get caught when you check in at a hotel, experience a random police check, or visit the hospital. If this happens, you’ll face a fine and have to stay in a detention center before being deported from Thailand. List of Countries Allowed for 45 Days in Thailand It's important to know the visa requirements for Thailand based on your home country. If your country is listed below, you're allowed to stay in the Land of Smiles for up to 45 days without a visa. Andora, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein. Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Sweden, UAE, UK, Vietnam, and USA. Visa on Arrival - List of Countries Allowed for 30 Days Similar to what we have mentioned above, it’s important to know the visa requirements for Thailand based on where you’re from. If your country is listed below, you can get a Visa on Arrival extension from 15 days to 30 days. Bhutan, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Oman, New Guinea, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Taiwan, and Uzbekistan. 12. For anyone considering undergoing Rezum treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), it’s important to have a clear understanding of the potential risks and benefits. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation out there about Rezum and what it can do. In this article, Dr. Suntchai Wirotsaengthong from M Centre by BNH will help to dispel some of the most common misconceptions about Rezum so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment. 1. Is it totally painless? No, it’s not As its name suggests, Rezum has much less invasive to patients with the post-operative bleeding is less than 10 ml compared with traditional surgery which in some case bleeding could be massive and probably needed blood transfusions. During the procedure, anesthesia by intravenous sedation is applied in order to maximize patients’ comfort. However, it’s not totally painless as it’s advertised sometimes. Most of patients experienced the discomfort feeling after the effects of anesthesia wear off and especially in first 5 to 7 days when a catheter is inserted into their body. “It (a catheter hooked with a bag) is bothersome but it's necessary since an acute inflammation and swelling after the procedure make it difficult to urinate and that’s why a catheter is required for a few days. It’s better than leaving patients with the feeling that they still have not empty their bladder,” Dr. Suntchai explained. 2. Does it improve your sexual function? It’s one of frequently asked questions that Dr. Suntchai has been received from his patients. A lot of men choose Rezum rather than other conventional treatments with the expectation that it will enhance their sexual functions. “This is understandable because only men having daily take BPH oral medicines can understand the frustrated feeling when their libido, erectile, ejaculatory and orgasmic function deteriorated. Same things happen with the majority of patients who underwent the surgical treatment for BPH. Yet with Rezum the sexual function is preserved. There was no data reported on the negative impact of Rezum on sexual dysfunction and erectile dysfunction (ED) 5 years after treatment (Rezum is novel therapy and has just been approved by US FDA since 2015). However, I always emphasize with my patients that Rezum doesn’t worsen your sexual ability but it also doesn’t make it better,” said Dr. Suntchai. 3. It’s not one size fits all treatment Although having a lot of advantages, Rezum, like every procedure, is not one-size- fits-all treatment. Normally, it’s advised for patients with prostate size of 30-80 grams or someone who has enlarged median lobe. “But not only that”, said Dr. Suntchai. There are numerous of factors needed to be considered before you decide to go ahead with specific treatment. Firstly, ask yourself how severe your symptoms are? If the symptoms like nocturia annoys your daily life too much, that’s signal to tell it’s time to get treatment. Secondly, check your prostate. If its size is too big or it’s acute inflammation, Rezum might be not for you. Other contraindications of Rezum are patients with urinary sphincter implant or who have a penile prosthesis. “It’s crucial to make sure that you’re cancer-free. A continuous elevated PSA (> 4 ng/ml) may a sjgn of hidden prostate cancer and further investigation such as MRI needed to be done.” Read a candid story of about our patient's experience with Dr. Suntchai Wirotsaengthong: https://bit.ly/42J2Tdj Why M Centre at BNH Hospital? There is a wide range of treatments available for BPH patients at M Centre, BNH hospital, ranging from medication to minimally invasive treatments to surgery (Greenlight laser & TURP). 15. When traveling to Thailand, you look forward to the delicious food, crystal blue waters, and relaxing massages. What you don't look forward to is falling sick. You will be surprised to know that many viruses in the Land of Smiles can sneak up on you, and the most common reason for getting an upset stomach is food poisoning. However,, you can minimize your chances of falling severely ill if you follow specific sanitary rules. In this article, our insurance expert friends from Pacific Prime Thailand have put together some tips to help you avoid food poisoning in Thailand. 1. Pick what you eat wisely Most food poisoning episodes occur when you eat something stale. For obvious reasons, you don't know how fresh the ingredients are in your ordered dish. However, you can control when it is cooked. Your best bet is to avoid pre-prepared food and to steer away from seafood if you have a sensitive stomach. So, is it safe to eat street food in Thailand? It's definitely hard to avoid all the inviting street food stalls in Thailand, and it is some of the best food you will find in Thailand. However, the problem with street food lies in its preparation. You never know if the vendor is using fresh ingredients, but you can always analyze the surroundings and assess the cleanliness of the surroundings, the weather, etc. 2. Dealing with Spicy Food Did you know that Thai food served in Western countries is a milder and less traditional version? When you eat in local Thai restaurants, you may experience a sore stomach from all the chili consumption. What’s more, excessive levels of chili can cause diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain. So, it's a good idea to let your table host or the restaurant know about your spice tolerance and choose non-spicy dishes. 3. Try not to Consume Ice or Filtered Water You should avoid drinking water straight out of the tap in Thailand. Additionally, the ice in Thailand is made in factories, so it comes in one large cube, so when you see broken bits of ice it is okay to consume. However, it’s best to avoid ice that looks like it was made in a tray. If you fall sick from drinking unfiltered water or ice, you can visit a pharmacist. Most pharmacists speak English and will advise the proper medication for your condition. 4. Finding the Right Hospital in Thailand With sufficient insurance, you could go to a public hospital for treatment. However, most public hospitals are often overcrowded and offer a lower standard than those in the West. However, with comprehensive travel insurance, you can go to a private hospital without paying the bills out of your pocket. Remember, you may have to pay expensive hospital bills without international or travel insurance. Secure Health Insurance with Pacific Prime Thailand Travel insurance can help offer peace of mind if you fall sick on your vacation. Falling sick in a foreign place can be stressful. From finding hospitals and doctors to sourcing prescriptions, your insurance provider can help navigate you through the system. Moreover, travel insurance will be able to cover your hospital expenses, so you don't have to worry about paying for it yourself. Pacific Prime Thailand has helped thousands of people secure travel insurance over 20 years and also offers international health insurance for expats and more. If you are planning to travel and want to learn more about this type of insurance, contact Pacific Prime Thailand's insurance experts for a free, no-obligation quote.

  21. If you're looking for a remote work destination, Thailand should be on your shortlist. The Land of Smiles offers affordable living, great quality of life, and diverse lifestyle options that cater to people of all ages and preferences. Bangkok and Chiang Mai, known as the "twin cities" of the digital nomad movement, are always among the most beloved cities for digital professionals who want to work remotely abroad. Before you pack your bags and hop on the plane, however, it’s crucial to understand the tax implications of your move, both as they relate to Thailand and your home country. Fail to do so, and you could face fines if the violations are slight. More serious violations could result in a legal nightmare and make you regret your move altogether. Our friends at Pacific Prime Thailand have shared with us what they know about this topic, which we’ll share with you here. But first, please remember that this discussion does not constitute legal or tax advice, which we are not qualified to provide, and you should seek from qualified lawyers or tax specialists. The purpose of this article is to shed some light on the topic, and give a heads-up of what you can expect to hear when you sit down with your professional advisor. Naturally, we cannot possibly discuss the tax situation of your home country. The crucial questions as they relate to Thailand are as follows: Are you a tax resident of Thailand? This is the fundamental question to ask. Thailand’s Revenue Department categorizes everyone either as a tax resident or a tax non-resident of Thailand. Individuals who stay in the country for 180 days or more in the calendar year are considered residents, and those who spend less than 180 days in the calendar year are counted as non-residents. Residents are taxed on their income on a worldwide basis, meaning that they will have to pay tax on their income wherever it is generated. However, income generated outside Thailand is taxable only if it is paid in Thailand, or brought or remitted into Thailand, in the same calendar year as the income is earned or distributed. That means that, for example, if you receive some dividend income in your home country, but it is remitted a full year after distribution or not remitted into Thailand at all, then it is not subject to income tax in Thailand. By contrast, if you spend less than 180 days of the calendar year in Thailand, that is, you are a tax non-resident, then as a general rule only your income for work performed in the country will be taxable in Thailand. This is the case regardless of where the payment is received or where your employer is located. For example, if you are an expat working remotely from Thailand but spend less than 180 days of the calendar year there, and you also receive dividend income in your home country which you remit to Thailand as soon as it is received. Only your income from working remotely in Thailand is subject to the country’s personal income tax: your dividend income is not taxable in Thailand. As of March 2023, the personal income tax rate of Thailand ranges from 5% to 35%. For the most up-to-date details, please click here. Does your home country have a double tax agreement (DTA) with Thailand? It doesn’t take mind-reading skills to know what you are likely pondering: what if a part of my income is taxable both in my home country and in Thailand? This is where double tax agreements (DTAs) come in. DTAs prevent the same income from being taxed twice: once by the home country and once by the country in which the individual works or resides. Thailand has DTAs with numerous countries and regions, among them Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. One governing principle of DTAs is that where the same employment income would otherwise become taxable in two tax jurisdictions, it is only taxable in the jurisdiction where the employment physically takes place. Thus, as an expat remote employee in Thailand, your employment income is taxable only in Thailand, provided your home country has entered into a DTA with Thailand. Note, however, that some DTAs only give the resident country “first taxing” rights, meaning that the other party to the DTA can still impose a tax (which is often the “remainder” of what the individual would otherwise have to pay less the amount already paid to their country of residence). If such is your case, you are no better off simply because Thailand has lower personal income tax rates than your home country. Moreover, if you are a tax non-resident of Thailand, and a permanent establishment does not pay your employment income in Thailand of your employer, another exception applies, which in effect means your employment income as a remote employee in Thailand is not liable to the country’s personal income tax, notwithstanding the fact that you are in Thailand when you work for pay. As you can see already, this area of tax law is something only professional tax advisors or specialists can even come close to clearly explaining. The best we can do is give a rough outline of the principles involved. Looking for a health insurance plan that meets your needs as an expat working remotely in Thailand? 23. From its breathtaking, clear blue beaches to the warm climate and friendly locals, Thailand is a gorgeous country that attracts scores of foreign visitors each year. But like any country located in the tropics, the country is also home to several diseases that you need to be aware of. The good news is that none of these diseases are deal breakers if you’ve done your research, got the necessary vaccinations, and taken plenty of safety and precautionary measures. So, without further ado, our friends from Pacific Prime Thailand are here to share with you the top 8 diseases in Thailand so that you can travel and enjoy your holiday in peace. 1. Dengue Fever Did you know that dengue fever is a common disease not just in Thailand, but in the rest of Southeast Asia as well? As a mosquito-borne viral infection, dengue fever causes fever, body aches, headaches, skin rashes, and severe flu-like illnesses. In extreme cases, dengue fever can lead to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), which can be life-threatening. Symptoms include vomiting, bruising, uncontrolled bleeding, high fever, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. One of the best ways to protect yourself from dengue fever in Thailand (or indeed any other mosquito-borne diseases) is to stay clear of mosquitoes and stagnant water. Use mosquito repellent and wear loose, long-sleeved clothing. 2. Malaria Malaria is another common disease to watch out for - especially during the wet season. Like dengue fever, malaria is spread through the bite of mosquitoes. Malaria is characterized by flu-like symptoms, including chills, headache, malaise, and fever. It can also lead to severe seizures, mental confusion, coma, and even death. There are five species of human malaria parasites, with the most dangerous one being Plasmodium falciparum. If you’re traveling to malaria-present areas in Thailand, such as more rural or remote areas of the country, be sure to take the aforementioned precautionary measures. You may also want to consider antimalarial medication. 3. Japanese Encephalitis Japanese encephalitis is yet another disease transmitted by mosquitoes that can cause inflammation of the brain and cognitive/neurological damage in severe cases. Other symptoms include fever, confusion, vomiting, headache, and difficulty moving. But fret not, the risk of getting this disease is not as high as other mosquito-borne illnesses, for instance, dengue fever. With that said, you should take extra caution if you’re planning to travel to rural areas for a prolonged period of time. In the context of Thailand, Japanese encephalitis is most common in the northern region such as the Chiang Mai Valley. As there’s no effective treatment available, you’re highly advised to get the vaccine at least 6 weeks prior to visiting a high-risk area. 4. Leptospirosis Spread through contact with soil, water, and food contaminated with the blood, urine, or tissue of an infected animal, leptospirosis is a rare bacterial disease affecting both humans and animals. Carriers of leptospirosis are usually dogs, rodents, buffalos, and farm animals so you’re more at risk if you’re planning to spend a lot of time outdoors or working closely with animals in Thailand. Common symptoms of leptospirosis include fever, headache, skin rash, jaundice, muscle aches (particularly on the legs), and vomiting. Severe cases can also result in meningitis, kidney malfunction, or death. Avoid puddles in Thailand as they may be contaminated with animal urine. Moreover, consider wearing water-repellent boots and long pants if it’s raining heavily and/or flooding. And, finally, don’t touch your eyes, ears, or mouth if you’ve come into contact with contaminated substances. 5. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease Common among young children, hand-foot-and-mouth disease is a contagious viral infection spread through physical contact with the infected person’s bodily secretion. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, painful red lesions on the inside of the mouth, red rash on palms and soles, loss of appetite, and irritability in toddlers and infants. While most people suffering mild symptoms will recover in several days, potential complications of hand-foot-and-mouth diseases range from meningitis to encephalitis, paralysis, and more. You can lower your chances of getting hand-foot-and-mouth disease in Thailand by staying clear of people infected with the disease. Make sure you don’t share personal items with others and wash your hands frequently. What’s more, only consume thoroughly cooked, steaming hot food. 6. Pneumonia Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, clammy skin, fever, chills, cough, and shaking. Many different types of organisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, can cause pneumonia. Pneumonia is highly contagious so it’s recommended to stay away from infected individuals. Although the majority of people who get pneumonia can be treated successfully, complications can arise if it's left untreated - especially amongst young children, the elderly, and those with a weak immune system. To minimize your risk of getting pneumonia, make sure you maintain good personal hygiene. Wash your hands frequently with soap as your hands are in constant contact with different types of bacteria and viruses. Planning to travel to Thailand?
