If you want to lower your premium, there is a wide range of deductibles and cost shares that you may consider. You also have the freedom to choose how often (annually, quarterly or monthly) you pay for your policy. If you choose an annual or quarterly payment, your premium will be slightly lower than it otherwise would be.

2.  Xplorer Essential and Premier from GeoBlue Health Insurance

First off, the GeoBlue Xplorer Essential and Premier plans are limited to US citizens moving abroad and non-US residents moving to the US. An employee of a US company is also eligible provided the company is domiciled in a US state and the company pays the premium. Congratulations if you clear that first bar! The Premier plan has the most comprehensive policy with the maximum amount of coverage. Ideal for US citizens living abroad, the plan provides the most coverage in the USA of any global insurer, including a total of 9 months of benefits for US citizens for each policy period.

 

The Premier plan is well suited to individuals and families looking to get the most coverage in the US and worldwide with minimum limitations. It is also the perfect premium insurance for foreigners living in the US because the benefits, coverage, and service levels offered are considered to be the best in the business.

 

On the other hand, if you do not plan to return to the US, then Xplorer Essential is for you – it offers the same benefits as the Premium plan, except that there is no coverage in the US. This plan will save you money compared to plans that offer coverage in the US as well.

3. Financial security: As popular western countries are significantly more expensive than Thailand, does your partner have the financial means to travel there? Immigration officers want to see proof of savings and predictable income.
 

4. International travel history: If your Thai partner has previously traveled abroad and honored the terms of the visa, his or her chances of approval improve. The period between the start of the policy and the day you can claim the policy is called the initial waiting period, and it could be anywhere between 3-6 months, depending on the insurer. Medical expenses aside from accidental hospitalization are not covered during the initial waiting period.

 

Maternity waiting period

 

Health insurance plans that offer maternity and newborn baby expenses usually do so after a specified waiting period, which could be anywhere from 9 months to 3 years. So, read through the fine print before securing a plan and plan your future accordingly.

Before heading to your nearest DLT, you’ll need to prepare several documents. Bear in mind that some of these documents may require you to go to the Immigration Bureau, whilst others are originals or copies of documents you should already have. At the time of writing, the documents include:

●     Original passport, visa, and any employment letter you may have

●     A copy of your passport and non-immigrant visa

●     A copy of your work permit

●     A copy of your T.M 6 departure card

●     A letter of residence or address certified by the Immigration Bureau or your embassy

●     A medical certificate dated within 30 days of the application, issued by any registered clinic or hospital

●     An original driver’s license from your home country (if you already have one)

 

Note: In addition to the aforementioned list, you may also require a copy of your passport page containing your last entry stamp into Thailand.

 

As the documents are subject to change over time, it’s worth checking with the DLT before you head over in person to apply for a driver’s license. You can dial them on 0-2271-8888 (and press 0 for the operator) or contact them via their call center via 1584 (and dial 3, then 0 for the operator).

Booking an appointment at the DLT

To ensure you’re not waiting around in queues all day, it’s worth booking an appointment with the DLT in advance. You can use the DLT Smart Queue website, which will require you to register your details, and then book a time slot for your selected date. It can be quite rare to get an appointment immediately, so it’s a good idea to plan in advance.

 

If you’re in a hurry to get your Thai driver’s license, or if you’d rather not deal with Thai bureaucracy/the language barrier, you may consider using a private service to help you get a fast-track appointment. There are many paid services online, such as Thai Driver Service Point, but you’ll need to do your own due diligence on them.

Visiting the DLT for your appointment

On the day of your appointment, make sure you get there in good time. For those who don’t already have a driver’s license from their home country, you’ll need to pass all the required tests (details below), a theory, and a practical driving test. For those who do, you’ll get to skip the theory and practical driving test.

Types of tests

 

It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with what each of the tests entails, so that you’re fully prepared for them:

 

●     Color blindness: This test will require you to confirm the color of a light bulb or lamp that appears in front of you.

●     Peripheral: This test will require you to confirm the color of the traffic light appearing on either side of you, whilst looking straight ahead and without moving your eyes or head.

●     Reflex: Sitting behind a brake and gas pedal simulator, you’ll have to push the brake in less than one second when a signal is raised.

●     Depth perception: An apparatus with two light filaments inside - one moving and one fixed, will appear in front of you, and you must align both within a specific range.

●     Theory: You’ll need to do a multiple-choice test. An e-learning course and practice tests are available on the DLT website.

●     Practical: As the main test, you’ll be asked to drive around a small course or track outside the test center, and perform maneuvers like reversing and/or parallel parking.

Obtain your Thai driver’s license

If you’ve passed all the required tests, congratulations! You’ll now be able to obtain a Thai driver’s license. The fees you’ll have to pay will vary on whether you’re getting a 2-year temporary license (THB 300 approx) or a 5-year permanent license (THB 600 approx). Typically, you’ll get the permanent kind when you’re renewing.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Thailand presented by Singha is set to return with an electrifying third event on Saturday, September 3, 2022, live from the world-famous Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok. The event is set to begin at 6:00 PM ICT/11:00 AM GMT/7:00 AM EST, and will be available worldwide on the BKFC app.

BKFC Thailand CEO Nick Chapman says, "This card is crazy. We have some really interesting fighters on this card… stay tuned for some crazy storylines. If this card doesn’t get you pumped, nothing will."

 

BKFC Thailand 3 will be headlined by one of Thailand’s greatest athletes of all time, Buakaw Banchamek, who will make his promotional debut against Turkish kickboxer Erkan Varol. Widely considered to be among the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time, holding a 240-24-12 record in the sport, Buakaw made his highly-anticipated return to competition on July 6 after nearly three years away. He will face Varol, who brings an impressive 88-33 kickboxing record into his bare-knuckle boxing debut.

 

Alongside the main event, there will also be two title fights on the card. In the co-main event, the inaugural BKFC Thailand featherweight champion will be crowned in a battle between Pongpisan “Ton” Chunyong and Surasak Sukkhamcha. Chunyong is one of three fighters to pick up wins in each of BKFC Thailand’s first two events, and the only one to win both by stoppage. He will also become the first fighter to compete in the promotion three times when he goes toe-to-toe with the 19 year old Sukkhamcha, who earned a unanimous decision victory in his debut at BKFC Thailand 1: The Game Changer.

 

After stealing the show at BKFC Thailand 2: Iconic Impact, this event will host another fight between street fighters, this time crowning an official “King of the Streets”, complete with a trophy. The winner of that fight, Sornchai “Maseng” Kantiphong, was called out by his opponent, Jakkaphop "Phop Perfect" Rattanamangsang, who said that no one can claim to be the best street fighter without fighting him. That debate will be put to rest with this fight.

 

Two women’s fights are set to take place on the card as well. Former two-division WBC champion Usanakorn Thawinsuwannawang kicked off the last card with a bang, scoring a destructive TKO victory. She will face Chesu Nuval of The Philippines, who makes her bare-knuckle boxing debut after a decorated amateur MMA career. Model and former American football star Tai Emery of Australia will bring a solid boxing base into her bare-knuckle boxing debut against fellow debutant Rung-Arun Khunchai, a 60-fight Muay Thai and Muay Boran competitor.

 

Beyond the aforementioned fighters, four more fighters from previous the two previous BKFC Thailand events are set to return to the BKFC ring. BKFC THAILAND STRAWWEIGHT CHAMPION FANI PELOUMPI TO FACE BRITAIN HART AT BKFC 29

 

 

Current BKFC Thailand strawweight champion Fani Peloumpi is set to make history for the promotion once more. After becoming the very first BKFC Thailand champion, the Greek “Queen of BKFC Thailand” will be the first fighter from the promotion to fight on an American BKFC show when she battles American fan-favorite Britain Hart for the inaugural BKFC Strawweight Championship in the main event of BKFC 29.

 

BKFC Thailand CEO Nick Chapman says, “People ask me all the time, ‘If I fight well in Thailand will I get a chance to fight in America?’ Well here is your answer.”

 

Prior to her BKFC Thailand debut, the MTA Academy-trained 37 year old Peloumpi garnered an impressive 67-23-1 record in Muay Thai, picking up multiple championships in the process. She also has a 1-1 record in both boxing and kickboxing. Peloumpi made her promotional and bare-knuckle boxing debut back in May at BKFC Thailand 2: Iconic Impact, facing Souris Manfredi for the strawweight title, the first championship on the line for the promotion. Although Manfredi was a sizable favorite, Peloumpi scored an upset split decision victory in an exciting bout.

 

Britain Hart is one of the most recognizable faces in BKFC, and holds a 5-3 record in the promotion. Hart’s only losses have come to former champion Bec Rawlings at BKFC 2, which she avenged in her most recent outing at BKFC 26, and Christine Ferea at BKFC 5 and at BKFC KnuckleMania 2 for the flyweight title. Hart will now drop down to strawweight in an effort to find gold.

About BKFC Thailand

BKFC Thailand events are managed by Mr. Nick Chapman and Mr. Vathanai Vathanakul. BKFC Thailand features a series of bare-knuckle fighting events to be held on a monthly basis in Thailand. Our events will encompass a traditional bare-knuckle boxing style while utilizing a specifically created rule set that emphasizes the half Thai clinch with punching strikes allowed inside the clinch.

 

All bouts will be held in a revolutionary circular four-rope ring, designed to encourage fast-paced and exciting bouts. The patented BKFC “Squared Circle” contains scratch lines, based on the Broughton Rules which governed bare-knuckle fighting in the 19th century, and which requires fighters to “Toe the Line”: starting every round face to face, and just 3 feet apart.

 

Only established professionals in boxing, MMA, kickboxing, Lethwei, or Muay Thai will be allowed to compete. The referees, judges, and officials will also be required to have extensive professional combat sports experience.
