  1. Lacking any more 100% information from oberkommando this update might just have to suffice

THE family of a Victorian man killed while trying to save a stranger says repeated "tough on crime" political statements need to be backed up by real action against street violence.

Luke Mitchell's family has heard scores of politicians and senior police officers offer strongly worded messages against gang bashings - including Victorian Premier John Brumby who called such incidents "gutless" - since the good Samaritan was swarmed and stabbed in May.

But no real changes have materialised despite repeated calls for tougher sentences against such offenders, says Shane Mitchell, the victim's brother.

"They look like they're acting when they say these things, but they're actually doing nothing," he said on Sunday after the family unveiled a plaque in his brother's honour.

The plaque reads: "When a brave man takes a stand the spines of others are stiffened".

    <snip>

He died later in hospital and the two men suspected of killing him have fled Australia. They are believed to be at large still in Thailand.

Whose sons are being protected ? what families raised these swine ?

  2. you only need a gateway if the packets are to be routed to an external interface - the gateway address if for the packets to go to a device with a routing table that has knowledge of a route outside your local network.

if you are just sending within the same subnet you don't need a gateway address.

I would have thought that if you provide an IP address outside the network and a gateway is set it would go the the gateway ( router ) which would determine that the packets need to be sent via the external interface.

you seem to want to have the log of events recorded at a remote computer over the internet . I would just set up a VPN server on your local network and then have the remote computer run a VPN client which will allow it to connect to the server and have a local network address . to the devices on the local network it would seem to them that the remote computer was on the local network.

VPN tunnels are the most secure way to link remote computers / networks - and with a little bit of skill can be created cheaply

  3. Am I the only one that thinks Mr Ts gonna get ripped off buying 'diamond mines' from the Africans ?

for all his public announcements about buying this , investing in that - from senegal to fiji - he hasn't bought anything yet

not having the money never stops people putting on their sunday best and taking a new car for a test drive.

  4. I bet she didn't get very far.

The Farang's on this board are too well informed for that type of misinformation.

After all, they read the domestic English language media daily!

    What was Koo thinking!

ferwert , should't you be keeping abreast of takkys twitter feed and myspace pages ?

you state that you are preaching to the converted here - so why waste your time ?

  5. thanks for the RS link - but I 'll pass on a USB to TTL priced at 1300 baht :)

they are 5 USD , so I would be happy to pay up to 10 USD here.

I know there are component places at Zeer and Klong Tom , but I would rather know exactly where and price before I set off :D

  6. I have a 500g seagate that has had its firmware venture up its own date

    Root Cause

This condition was introduced by a firmware issue that sets the drive event log to an invalid location causing the drive to become inaccessible

the way to sort it out without sending it back to seagate and losing the data on it is

    http://www.msfn.org/board/solution-seagate...ds-t128807.html

so to issue it an ultimation I need to buy / make a serial to TTL converter

any ideas where I can purchase the unit - mail order it in Thailand ?

    http://alldav.com/index.php?main_page=prod...;products_id=11

This is a level shifter for connecting the serial port of a computer to a TTL micro controller or any other TTL UART device. The pin spacing is standard 0.100" and will accept a four pin header so that it can be plugged directly into a breadboard. The pinout is labeled on the board and is Vcc, TX, RX, and GnD.

  7. .... looks like this carries the signature of "Love Chiang Mai 51"... genuine "Democrats", "Democracy against dictatorship" - are the all "off the planet"?

    like the loveUdon pacifists ?

these thugs would not be doing this unless they were paid - so they need to find the paymasters and punish them .

  8. but the problem is that everything is switch on for wifi but when I right click and press repair or enable it wont switch on even though I can pick up signals every where around me including mine

you are using the intel 2200bg whose cofig utility is Intel PRO/SET wireless , do you have the little upside down cone icon at the bottom right ?

when you right click on it do you see enable radio ticked and greyed out ?

  9. Do you own the wifi Access Point ( AP ) that you are trying to connect to ?

with your laptop can you see the AP's SSID when you do a scan for APs ?

what channel is the AP using ?

what sort of encryption is your AP using ?

does the AP filter wifi connection via MAC address ?

  11. I think its time that they realy start to clean up the Pattaya scene. And when I write clean up, I mean a real clean up. There are simply too many shady people and bussineses in that area.

that is not going to happen

Recently, Itthipol Khunpluem, son of illustrious Somchai Khunpluem aka Kamnan Poh, won the mayoral election in beautiful Pattaya. Khun Itthipol, youngest brother of veteran politician Sonthaya, former tourism and sports minister, won by thousands of votes. Thousands of votes? What’s again the population of Pattaya?

Kamnan Poh was an influential figure in, or better: the godfather of Chon Buri. Was, because nobody knows his whereabouts since he went underground after being found guilty of hiring hit men to murder his business rival and local administrator Prayoon Sitthichote. Prayoon was gunned down at a wedding reception in full glamor in March 2003.

  12. ^ stu, both you and richard refer to 'True' or 'true'.... what's that?

This thread is about a TT&T MaxNet-enabled modem. What's True got to do with it?

yes - I understand who his ISP was , the mention of True was not just for him , was for others also who search for the MT800

when I first looked for the admin password online it took me a while to track it down - which was why I also posted it on this forum - and there is also a chance that other Thai ISPs are using the same firmware which would have the same password - most things are worth a try if you are grasping at straws.

  13. in theory teh evil malwarez could enable them to use your computer and take control of a predator remote drone and have it target your computer with a cruise missile , thus damaging your processor.

    in practice - no

  14. Huawei_MT800_bridge.JPG

do not set your 54 GL LAN to 192.168.1.x as you may have conflicts with the modem LAN

if you are running Tomato firmware there are a couple of lines you can add to the init and firewall scripts which will allow you to access the modem from your LAN

i did post the true firmware admin password here on TV a few years ago
