  1. .

Fergie could do it part-time with his eyes closed............

..but with his mouth open, now and then. :o

The most successful British manager for 20 years, end of story.

  2. There is a school and shop at Nai Yang Beach, which is perfect in the low season as it's the safest beach around this west coast due to the 2 reefs that come around to protect it. Kiteboarding hugely poular here in low season when big winds occur, now it's only good for the original surfers and not the trussed-up aerialists....... :o

P.S I think the shop & school is called KiteBoards of Asia but I can check later if you want.

  3. We might have to swap a few observations on this one O.C.

It looks to me like a low rainfall place, and the soil not looking very productive, the beach drops away away to deep water quite sharply, that suggests old volcanic. The marina and surround looks vey new and big money has been spent quite quickly and some of the buidings appear slightly islamic (though not sure on this one)

The clue that the poster gives about living there as a 2nd choice to Thailand is a bit off-putting, and it kind of negates the Seychelles for me and drags me back to the Pacific. Your thoughts O.C. or anybody ?

  4. I was just about to power down and go read a book - now you've got me thinking again.

Talk about frustrating - I'm also stuck with Old Crocs Skiing mountain that I think is also Canadian (don't ask me why) it's a good photo of yours and given time I will get it - But How Bl00dy long I cannot say............ :o

OK I've spent too long on this tonight, I got the continent right, so I'll pass on my other observations - perhaps they'll help another crazy punter.

If the sun is setting then the city appears to be facing west'ish over a large body of water, which I'm taking to be a lake.

The buildings closest to the waterfront are all of an earlier time (which I classify as colonial - they bear a resemblance to some Aussie architecture of the time which is why I went for somewhere in Canada - though could be American) trees along the waters edge seem to me to be deciduous and of a cooler climate variety.

Newer Architecture (the really tall stuff is pretty uninspiring but appears to have a sandstone look rather than a grey cement - though the colour of setting sun will be affecting the true colours.

I still favour Canada and I keep checking Toronto but I cannot get anything to match.

If nobody has got it by tomorrow I'll give it another go, in the meantime good luck ?

  6. I have been touring a single cup cone & filter-papers for over 25 years and still use one thrice daily here in Phuket. Originally available from Melita:-

The last ones I bought for friends I got at Tesco/Lotus and or Big C for less than 100 baht I think. Brand name there is Suzuki (Blue & Green Pkt)

P.S. I make the best coffee around :D

    Good for you.

However when I'm in Belgium I use the Senseo Pod machine and it's a different story altogether, much better coffee.

But as with many things one cannot discuss different tastes.

If you're happy with your coffee again good for you.

    cheers

    onzestan

Please note I didn't quote which coffee I used - only the means of making it - I also have a cappuccino machine !!....... :o

  7. IMHO Italian Pizzas are more Authentic......... :o

    Pizza was invented in America.

Can you back that statement up please ?

Whilst I realise Wikipedia isn't the ultimate in proof here is one statement from them

"Due to the wide influence of Italian and Greek immigrants in American culture, the United States has developed quite a large number of regional forms of pizza, many bearing only a casual resemblance to the Italian original."

I will concede that New York Style Pizzas were invented in America... :D
