  1. I bought an expensive Tefal "non-stick" pan and it lost its non-stick character in just a few weeks. I would really like to buy a few heavy cast-iron pans, because after proper conditioning they will be non-stick forever and last a life-time.

But where to find them in Thailand?

I've been looking for cast iron pans in BKK for 2-3 years at least, cannot find them.

    I brought mine from Europe.

Emporium has some stuff, produced in France I think, but they are coated.

I much prefer thick cast iron without any coating.

Maybe an "wholesaler" that supplies big restaurants and big hotels might have some.

Bought a large and smaller fry pan from http://raro.asia/. He shipped quickly and the pans are really great - heavy and hold a tempering well.

I see that in Chiang Mai Rimping Markets (at least at Promanda) are selling the fry pans and dutch ovens. Price comes out close to the same once you figure in the shipping.

  2. Sorry may be in case of your dog the issue is not "'obsessive" rather more like a dominant case

As you made him into what he is, you owe it not only to the dog as well as yourself to modify this behavior.

Yes, it can be done but it will require work on your part. Having the dog killed (don't use the euphanism "put down" as you are having him killed) is your easy way out and really is not an acceptable option to even be considered.

Apologizing in advance if I make you angry... the fault lies with you, not the dog, so use the opportunity to learn please.

  3. I tried to ask similar questions about Chom Thong for not too different reasons. The answers led me to believe I would be the only farang there. Surrounded by people who spoke not a word of English (fair enough) but mainly Lanna to boot. Fang seems a haven in comparison.

Don't know when you were asking about Chom Thong but... sure do like it here as there are so very few farang around... at least I have been able to avoid them if they are about!

  4. Took me quite a lot of looking but found that an ag chemical shop right near my place had stacks of it! But that's not in Issan but outside of Chiang Mai. Thailand is a very large exporrter of gypsum so I was surprised at the difficulty of finding a supplier.

  5. I think you are reaching here FolkGuitar.

I noticed it was in Bangkok also. Not sure why it is posted here.

Yes, the Footcontrol clinic is in Bangkok. I posted the information forfolks to know that alternative places exist outsied of the Chiang Mai area and do not rely on the Walker connection for their work.

Apologize if my offing of alternative locations does not fit into you high standards of postings. 555+

No problem. You could have mentioned the one in London or Paris perhaps New York. Do you think we are a bunch of idiots like where ever you come from and don't realize we can go to other cities' for service?

My, my... touchy today are you?

  6. www.footcontrol.co.th/

    Do excellent work -onsite.

That's quite an impressive web site. But I'd worry a bit because the technicians aren't wearing disposable examination gloves while touching the feet of their clients. Don't they worry about spreading infections disease or foot fungus?

My goodness!!! On my next visit I will insist that they follow the very correct proceedures... 555+

  8. Keep away, at all costs, from Briggs & Straton engines... terrible!!

They make 10,000,000 engines a year, must be doing something right.....whistling.gif

Engines are throwaways and service/parts seemingly impossible to find. Local big shop bought a bunch and then almost had to give them away to get rid of them. 'mericans voted in Bozo Bush twice but that still doesn't mean that he was worthy of being in the office does it? ;-)

B&S has been making these small engines for over a century. Spare parts.....

Great if you are in 'merica... but this forum is about being in Thailand.

  10. Check out ...raro.asia he sells a dutch oven type cast iron pot, 2900 THB

plus shipping, I also believe i seen some in Meechoke Plaza RimPing.

    regards worgeordie

Raro will refer you to Rimping. They are selling at nearly the same price as he is when you include shipping.

  11. Had a similar problem with a neighborhood mosque while living in Jakarta. Two bags of rice delivered the 1st of each month ensured that the loudspeakers were pointed away from my little enclave. If I forgot to send the rice then on the 2nd I would get blasted out of bed at dawn!

Always there are ways to get through these non-sensical problems.
