How many border runs can you do in a row - with tourists visiting me my schedule is a bit all over the place and need to do a urgent run before I re-start the family visa process. Don't have a day to stay so cross over and return.
There is a thought - why even enter Laos? SJust get the bus back - you have "left thailand" ?

Jumping Castle's.
At all the markets - markets rotate often - our village has 3 a week - others just one very big market.
I watched yesterday as I'd never seen one get inflated before.
Was great to watch - in first minute opening he had (two man operation) taken 150 baht. Stady trade all day.
Can't help but think that's a interesting little business.
Selling phone time I think I mentioned before.

No idea - but on the form it has a box saying "Race" I always reply "5Th at Flemington"

If I had legalized, loved and taken care of the child for a couple of years and I then found out that it wasn't my blood child, then I would still love her exactly the same. And what if the blood father came along asking his child back? I would never give my child up. Interesting court case
I'm with you on this

Good friend now back in Australia used to look after a very nice young prphan in Bangkok. The kid was moved to Chantaburi to a orphanage that specializes in HIV positive people i understand.
However she's lost the contact details - she drove there a few times - I "think" it's near the coast but don't know.
Anyone in the area going to orphanages does this ring a bell and can you give me a phone number to call?
Thanks

Thanks guys - big help
How does the hospital know to send it to the embassy if you haven't lodged it yet? Aus Gov webisite on the listing of hospitals/doctors in Thailand said don't do health check till requested?
Do you get a tracking number?

Hi Guys Hi Bridge
Can anyone provide us information with the timeline from date of submitting application to receiving it - plus at what stages during you need to get hospital police checks done.
Reason being is I amy have to go to Australia first with the kids and leave wife till she gets the visa - as it seems to take three months.
I don't want to leave her alone to do interview checks etc. So any advice ie for submitted three weeks kater interview two weeks kater heath checks etc.

My kids oddly don't like holidays - they love school - when on holiday from Bagnkok before we moved to the viollage they'd go to the local school. Loved it.
Many schools will let you "try" them out - see how your kids go and what they want.
That all said aged between 10 and 11 I missed a whole year of school as did all my siblings at simlar ages - mum and dad thought experience in interesting countries was better than classrooms.
-
Just near Sawang Dan Din - if it had to be a city I'd go Khon Ken - oddly didn't see that on the list - very livible with food - bars - pubs - good school uni for teh Thai family etc.

Well, I'm glad the newspapers, television and now Thai Visa have caught up with my Breaking Bullshite. I wouldn't be surprised if the confrontation between my wife and the Cambodian soldiers, started the whole bloody thing off.
Yes - I see that - http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thai-Cambodi...-R-t312846.html
Where's the beer though?
-
No worries - be glad to have a beer with you next time in Surin - still not sure who you meant the Cambodians were going to skirmish with - maybe ThaiVisa ?
-
<<I really think you should learn to read posts, or at least keep up with current affairs. They don't need to invade,as one of the temples is in Cambodia..
Australian are you?
From Cambodian soldiers.
They are moving in and expect a skirmish in the next hour or so.>>
1 - Seems I can read fine
2 - Yes - problem with Australians? As you can see from my other work I do rural development in Thailand - Is that a bad thing?
3 - Skirmish with who then?
Keeping up with news - I guess you saw the news item last week saying Cambodia was conducting exercises near the border? Maybe you missed it?
-
So did cambodia invade or not. Any else get tired of the thai farang obsession with rumour mill. Only one farang i know ever knew what was about to happen and predicted it. All others spread rubbish. You don't think it'd be on the news cambodia was invading thailand?

They are functioning, but give them a call: Phone: 042-715-219
Location: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&...amp;t=h&z=6
Operational but they gave the wife right advice oin the phone - when we got there we got the wrong advice making a speedy run to Vientianne.
At the border I stopped at Immigration - already heard from wife's cousin they had given me wrong adive - I COULD extend a 90 day Non Imm O 60 days. Immigration at Nong Kai agreed - offered to do the same if I had the paper work but I didn't as I wasn't expecting to be offered the 60 days extension
The building is a bit hard to find even with the map - has no sign outside saying Immigration - look for a SWAT Bus - it's beside the police satation and a school.
-
Well it gets more confusing. For the record wife was with me and her english is good. The officer female actually impressed me with her english. Very good. Confusing is wife has a very nice cousin who i didn't know had recently started work at immigration ubon i believe. Wife called her, and she told wife we should have got 60 days very easy. Wife un aware of what you kind people have been saying so confirms we should have got the extension. Leaving for laos tomorrow as i can't be bothered starting a useless fight, besides other family can carry the complaint better than us, from within. Guess the real answer is a unknown though.

Actually there was a post in the last couple of days saying the same thing.
Can't remember who.
EDIT . Found it in here. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Extension-Ex...sa-t311042.html
This guy subsequently came back and said 'misunderstanding with immigration', but did not say whether 60 day extension was given or not.
Section 2.24 of the Police Order is very clear on giving 60 day extension to visit Thai wife. Hard to believe immigration refused to give.
We where not impressed - asked to see the head - he wasn't in - very annoyed - wife calling again in a few days again to see what happens this time.
Looked at that thread - he had a 1 year existing visa - no idea if it made a difference but good lead to argue with them

So we know Farang Copnnection in Surin has some good new happy hour deals
Che Guiovera Bar we're still waiting to know where that is exactly
Stumps in Sawang Dan Din is good and cheaper than many Farang places but a bit slow in opening
Pink House in Sawang Dan Din is al;ways happy
Starbeam is a new comer - good prices - very clean and with Air Con for when winter is over (everyone here is wearing jumpers)
So what's a good happy hour near you in Isaan - prices and address a good start!

Happy Hours
in Isaan
The FC is a sponsor on this form and pays for the banner at the top of the Issan form. Thats gives the right to advertise and promote his business openly on TV and to label his thread as he sees fit.Where's the Galt when you need him 5 5 5 5 5 5
So sponsor's can mis label a thread - nice.
I liked the few times I dropped into the FC - will prob do again - but ThaiVisa rules that allow misleading threads I don't like.

Happy Hours

Its really about Farang Connection seeing as Martin started it IMHO?
Your one day too late for the Monthly(1st Sunday) get-togethers.
My hangover is starting to fade now
Dave
Sad day when a post called happy hours can only belong to one places. Suggest a mod change the title to happy hours at Farang Conection to be accurate.
Pity more bar owners aren;t like the idiot at Starbeam who strongly recomends when asked other places to go too - after all - the more places that are Faranbg Friendly - the better it is for farangs - at least I thought so
But I'm with stoopid
