Why on earth Bali, of all places?
-
"The bags were spotted at 7 pm and police staked out until 10:30 pm but no one turned up to pick up the bags so the police seized them."
I guess the bags were clearly labeled, so these were not your ordinary dealers. There's a movie here.

You would drive from SF to LAX and then drive from BKK to CM? Two very long trips... Something isn't right here.

Cafe des Amis would get my vote, but it is all French/Continental. I think that the room with its soft colors and very soft lighting is romantic and the food has been great. It is formal but laid back. No, not formal... just very "nice." Get the table all the way to the back on the right hand side near the kitchen. (The most private.) Disclaimer: I haven't been there in over a year.
Hummm... Candle light on the beach seems nice, too. Might be chilly with a need to cuddle
If things don't work out with your GF, you are welcome to take me to Gian's.
Hey, what about the Sheraton?
Royal Cliff is not romantic, IMHO

I'm in total agreement with JT

Wat Chai Community Massage has another location on soi 17 behind "stinky market."
There is another blind massage place on Third Road on the left just before the overpass going toward Bali Hai. I have not tried it. Any reviews?

Actually, the Jazz Pit on soi 4(?) near PIH has great jazz...., well, good jazz.

"Cheers wolfy. Lol, they have elvis night on mon and tue only. Captains corner at the bottom of thappraya road, right side, pattaya end, have elvis nights at the weekend, it may be the same guy."
The all you can eat buffet was sad. But probably the best they can afford to offer given the customer base. Not bad, but better value meals around town.

what is " ' about?

I'm in the same camp as OP. But what about ease of use for old guys? I hear that the Iphone is easier to learn. Easy is important to me. Help please.

El Paso used to be very good, but I haven't used them in 8 years.

I like the Nana line very much. They also have Mexican food salsas that are good - a frog on the label.

Khun Ek can do it all - if he's not booked. Reliable and fair for several years for me. 089 9817 189

I like Mr. Wong.... and Mrs Wong is nice, too. But Mr. Wong is the craftsman.

Employment extension
There is a Treaty of Amity and Economic Relations between the Government of Thailand and the United States of America. The Thai Ministry of Commerce recognizes this Treaty of Amity. The Ministry of Commerce has registered me, an individual, as a Sole Proprietorship.
The Ministry of Labor recognizes the Treaty of Amity. The Ministry of Labor has given me a Work Permit that allows me to work in Thailand as a self employed person. No company. No Board of Directors. No employees. Just me working alone. I pay Thai taxes every month.
Thai Immigration does not recognize a Sole Proprietorship under the Treaty of Amity. Thai Immigration will not give me a Non Immigrant B visa. It would be very good if the new Thai Immigration Commissioner understood what a Sole Proprietorship under the Treaty of Amity is about. Maybe then a Non Imm B visa would be made available.

same for me with Sophon BB ISP in Pattaya

Delta flies to BKK from Portland, Oregon. Sometimes they have very good prices. The Portland airport is terrific.

1. Department of Labor requires any non-O to get a work permit.
2. Immigration can not extend a retirement visa if they know that you are working.

I had 3 claims and no problems...

I suggest giving Khun Ek a try. I have always been pleased with his renovations. 089 9817 189.

There are two real art galleries on Threppasat Road within a couple of hundred meters of Thappaya Road. And then you can always buy from Liam's web site, but pricey and very good art (Collectibles.)

The second soi behind TukCom has such a shop. Between Day/Night 2 and DayNight 3, I think.
