  1. I've still got a chill but then I guess I am a normal person. If things are going up the average person is always late to join the rally. But I bet things are going to worsen again. Over this two-year period a lot of money is going to be lost and made by the big guys who seem split on the economic situation out there. The big names are not in unity about this at all.

  2. I took vitamins fairly often as a kid. I remember the flintstones or chalks vitamins. Since then on and off probably every year or two i buy some vitamins thinking well they say it might help. Now looking back I think what a waste. Vitamins are just like all that fitness equipment you buy that you end up tossing. Ther ear eplenty of people aroudn the world who have never taken vitamins and are perfectly healthy. I'm not saying that some people with serious problems need vitamins but I really doubt that most of us do.

Has anyone taken vitamins everyday since they were a child? How many people buy them every once in a while then stop taking them? The whole thing just seems to be another money making opportunity for companies. Most people in the developed world for the most part aren't lacking vitamins unless they are living on the street or some type of alcoholic.

Are vitamins just a scam in the end? For an industry which is supposed to be out to help people 75% of its products seem to be junk money-makers.

PS I'm not talking about people suffering from African river blindness or other diseases of the jungles.

  3. Sorry to be a party pooper but drinking clean water isn't the best you can do. You could leave this polluted place and that would have a much better impact on your family's health. The air is loaded with pollutants here. You could say that your water will never be cleaner than the air you breath all the time. But it can make a slight difference I guess.

You could take in all the air a human breaths in one day then filter that through all the water you drink in a day. I wonder how clean that water would turn out. I know my idea is silly but the pollution out there is real. It's real.

  4. Strangely I've never seen one in Thailand but there has to be one. I've seen some stuff but not much in those shops that sell military gear in the shopping malls. I would guess somewhere down in Chinatown there might be a place with more traditional stuff. Try asking one of the schools which teach martial arts classes to kids. You can find them at Siam Square and in some bigger shopping malls. I don't have any names.

China probably would be a better place for it. There are some websites here in Asia which can give you info about suppliers if you are looking for stuff to sell.

  5. War isn't needed just the removal of about 100 people connected to the power to see some change. As for China, we'll they are getting greedy for foreign assets like the rest of the world. That bothers those who have been in the greed game for a long time, doesn't it?

  6. Well, I would suggest that you live in Thailand as if you are married prior to actually getting married. Life as a tourist which is all fun is nothing like life as a husband. If you want to make a choice which you will be happy with the rest of your life then take a year to live together under conditions which involve normal stress. Don't let today's feelings fool you. Take your time and do the right thing.

  7. It's probably been thought of before but here goes... I think that there should be a regional bus hub for the Northeast in Korat, the South in Petchaburi, and the North about two hours north of Bangkok.

People going to provinces past one of those three hubs would take the bus to that hub then transfer to another bus to the province they want to go to. Right now there are loads of buses coming in and out of the metropolis empty or half full and people wait hours for their buses at the stations in Bangkok. By using this new system most people would be able to jump on a bus instantly upon arriving at MorChit or any of the three terminals. The buses would leave full and come into Bangkok full. This would reduce the total number of buses into and out of Bangkok. Passengers wouldn't have long waits here in Bangkok. Bus repairs, bus storage and other bus related work could be done in the provinces. This would bring work upcountry. Passengers would spend some wait time in the provinces where they would spend their money rather than here in Bangkok. People upcountry would get work providing food, goods, services, and hotels in the provinces. Many Bangkok support businesses would probably move upcountry. A lot of space would be opened up around existing terminals in BKK.

The BKK - Provincial Hub routes would have to be turned into a partnership of all presently incoming bus lines. Some passengers might not like getting off after two ro three hours but most buses stop along their routes for food and restrooms anyways. There's a lot of issues to consider. Is there any value in this idea? Can you add anything to it or bring up anything against it? I know it would involve massive changes but int he end it would also give benefits.

  8. Amazing this thread hasn't developed faster. I agree that when it comes down to it we can only blame ourselves. Innocence is no excuse in the animal world which we do live in. It's still control your enemies and kill or be killed but today killing comes in many forms. Even here we can see that there are 'experts' and teams attacking each other to proclaim their truth and protect their dignity etc etc. The winners will write the history. The people who last the longest in the game have more control. the only way to win is to keep playing. If you give up the westerners really did ruin the world.

    BTW "excessive lesbian orgies"?

  9. No real hobbies at the moment. Using the computer all the time is not a healthy hobby in my opinion but that's what a seem to find myself doing a lot. I watch some Tv. I also am ashamed to admit it but I am one of those shopping mall farangs who wanders around shopping malls. I go usually for a meal, cool air, groceries, and occasionally a movie. Ever noticed that there are loads of farang males in the malls? I bet if you took away the western food that number would decrease.

  10. At my school there are 5 UFM bakery coffee shops and five 7eleven's not to mention other shops selling coffee from 15 baht for the cheap stuff up to 40baht or so. They also have a lot of yammazaki style bakery stuff going from 10 to 30 baht a piece. The students spend. University students are leading the way with all the coffee and bakery stuff. Try one of the campuses that are growing by the day where the better students from wealthier families go. Bangkok University, Thammasat, Burapa have new growing campuses. Actually there are a lot more place to look around Bangkok and in Thailand. It's true that a lot of sellers don't make money but those with good locations and quality products can do well.

As you investigate, if you are pretty good at Thai don't be afraid to ask the counter staff what they sell per day. Most of the workers at chain shops just do their job. They'll tell you how much runs through their register with small talk.

  11. ^ I think the idea was to make as much money off of the continual test failures until the person passed when it was orginally created. When I took my first motorcycle test way back it was on paper and the test checker had a red pen taped to a blue pen so he could correct my mistakes so I passed.

I took the car test last fall. I remember one question was something like..

Which is not allowed on city streets?

    a. A tank

    b. A race car (It may have been 'Indy 500 car'!)

    c. A car with no tailights.

    d. A broken car ( I can't remember the last one but it was something like the others)

I didn't know what to pick. Does anyone remember the above question?

I also noticed a load of English spelling/grammar mistakes on the computer test.

  12. ^I'm not Thai and the people playing the music aren't doing things "in the Thai spirit of thought or customs or way of life" either. But you're idea isn't a bad idea.

BTW Please don't be so condescending. Are you Thai? If you are, are you talking to all the foreigners who post here? If you aren't Thai, then how would you know what the Thai spirit, etc is?

  13. Ant colonies get bigger and bigger. They want to take over everything. When city people get board they start buying country houses driving up costs forcing the locals to join their game. In the past poor people coudl run away to unknown lands; now, there are fewer and fewer places to run to. Eventually everyone will be in the machine driven by the haves.

  14. See if a farmer will take the stuff they don't use for his pigs away from your house. it might also be good for fertilizer if possible. As for the music find out about that mosquito high frequency sound that they use agsint teenagers. There are higher frequecies that you could use on older people. Turn it on everytime they turn their music on or when they are sleeping(They won't sleep) Check out the youtube vids on this. It will kick their azzes if you can broadcast it over your speaker system.

  15. I've read the version where while Shay is running the pitcher has an epileptic seizure. Shay is the only one who notices so he runs to him and helps him. The crowd then lifts him up cheering him as a hero. All the young girls give him kisses and he is given the key to the city. In fact, the town is later renamed Shay.

  16. If your Asian American and are fluent in English it's probably 90% likely that you live in the Bangkok area or one of the other few big cities. Try outside of the big cities and you will find plenty of places in Thailand where dentists are in need. My daughter is going to have to make a two hour trip to go to a dental clinic in Esarn. They don't have any clinics in our area. There are plenty of decent sized amphurs around LOS where there are no dental clinics. People use the hospital to do things but upcountry you can't get much done in those small hospitals. But if you are talking about the bigger cities well there are lots of dentists but still I think Thailand needs more. Every year more and more people here are getting to the income level which allows them to afford more dental treatments.
