Same as a bank/finance company having the blue book.

The vehicle is in the name of whoever holds the paper on the loan/rent to own/hire purchase agreement.

Go see them to determine the amount required to pay off the contract in total.

Come to an agreement with whoever rent/hired the vehicle as to what compensation they want for the money they have already paid.

Both of you meet with the blue book holder, who should go with you to DLT to assist in the paperwork.

When transfer complete, pay the funds.

    Many thanks for the information.

  2. I had a minor operation at BH earlier this year and was very happy with everything there.

The initial estimated cost was 13,000 to 15,000 baht and the bill came in at 13,000 baht.

The operation was carried out on time, everything went like clockwork.

The follow up wound examination was also included in that cost which surprised me, i was expecting an additional charge.

All communication was made via "Messenger" with prompt replies every time.

  3. Looking for advise about the safest way to buy a vehicle from a Thai which is on Rent-to-Own/ Hire Purchase.

How does the seller pay off the loan and get ownership via the Blue Book in order to make the DLT transfer without funds from the purchaser, I am assuming here that they don't have sufficient funds of their own.

I don't want to be paying off the loan on their behalf to find that they then disappear with the Blue Book.

Any actual experience of this type of purchase would be appreciated.

    Many thanks.

TIme for the annual pilgrimage for my extension of stay, so took all my documents to the visa agent upstairs at the Prom. They did ask for documentation to back up the income verification letter. Said the "new" boss requires it. Provided them copies of of each of my retirement income statements. I also had copies of three months of bank statements showing the deposits into my account, but they said the other documents were enough.

Are you from the USA ?

  5. Made a transfer from my Wallet (which had been credited with a returned item) to my Thai bank account. On inquiry after 4 days with nothing being credited I was told it could take up to 12 days. Suggested they use a computer for the transfer instead of sending a letter.

How were you able to isolate determine that it was a faulty pump? by the error code?

In my case when the pump stopped working I checked for continuity across the motor's + and - terminals. No continuity suggested that the there was a break in the motor wingdings or the brushes were shot.
