  1. "The AMLO also revealed that from Nov 15, 2017  to Jan 11, 2018 they had received complaints from 157 victims of Call Center scams on their 1710 Hotline.

Damages in total amount to 67,180,000 baht.

Of these, AMLO have managed to help 18 victims and return 4,218, 832 baht to them."

Wow, well done, time for another "slap yourselves on the back" photo guys.

  2. Clearly chosen for its maintenance record.

    Accidents and incidents

    • On 15 November 2012, a T-50B of the South Korean Air Force Black Eagles aerobatic team crashed shortly after takeoff, killing the sole pilot on board. The cause of the crash was due to faulty maintenance.[165]
    • On 28 August 2013, a T-50 of the South Korean Air Force crashed during a training mission near Kwangju city, killing both pilots on board. Investigation results revealed that the pilot deaths resulted from failing to eject at a sufficient altitude, while the crash itself was caused by faulty maintenance.[166]
    • On 20 December 2015, an Indonesian Air Force T-50i Golden Eagle crashed while performing a flight demonstration during an airshow at Adisutjipto Air base in Yogyakarta, killing its two pilots[167][168] caused by poor maintenance and pilot error.[169]

Well written, thanks, but not sure I've got it down. So, the disabled person doesn't have to be a spouse, that's the impression I got from the Immigration officer last week. Ok. Also, no need for an MD certification if the person isn't in the hospital but simply quite frail? Right? Seeing a doctor can involve a lengthy ordeal as well if that's the only reason. In this case she could brave the queue and wait at Immigration, but it is a burden. I was told it was easy to Google up the form but alas I haven't tried, so can you post a link or advise on where best to obtain the form? There is no problem with the 800,000 baht issue, but I sense anxiety in older people, even Thai, over possible future medical expenses, but the harsh reality is that Medicare may pay, but there is no support structure in the home country, nobody willing to pick up the slack for paying bills, making repairs, buying groceries, etc. For the time being, my one friend can use a walker and sit comfortably on it while waiting at the queue. Feedback on the expedited option isn't that good, either, it's up the stairs and has its own hassles even if some time is saved. I have to try to find that form...

I don't wish to add any confusion to the topic but when I was doing my annual extension about 3 weeks ago a farang couple (he in a wheelchair) where serviced via the normal downstairs desk by being simply wheeled in between ticket holders (I have no problem with that) and were dealt with in a fraction of the normal time. Maybe they had already been upstairs to the TM30 room and had come downstairs to complete the extension.

  4. If the rubbish is not actually in their beds the average Thai just does not see it. Also, given the lack of public recycling sites for larger items a vacant lot is the ideal place to dump that old bed/ wardrobe/ toilet etc.

It's when they start dumping the rubbish in your garden that you need to start worrying!!

  5. Been trying for the last couple of days using CHROME and FIREFOX with IE add-on. Can complete the form OK then with CHROME it goes into a black hole and with FIREFOX it refers me to Immigration.

Software written by the same team that did the banks year-end routines.

    Heap of steaming .......

The CM-based owner of the Pattaya condo I am going to rent long term will be in Australia when I arrive. What do I do? Anyone?

Stay in a hotel for one night. Hotel does TM30 for you, get a copy from them for your passport, then move to your long term stay?
