Are you kidding me? You dont remember this. It was all over the Thai press. They nicknamed then the dinosaur generals. Parading and speaking at their protest at the stadium next to MBK. People laughed at them, then they morphed into the street protest show ponied by suthep, still the dinosaur generals pulling the strings.

the reason why they were laughed at, was saying such things as,

"closing down Thailand for 5 years,"

    "rid Thailand of foreigners"

They had thousands of protesters cheering them.

You can see from their rhetoric what they meant, control thailand for 5 years and put in place mechanisms to stay in power longer, and make life a whole lot more uncomfortable for foreigners.....

Got a link? Searching for dinosaur generals only leads back to your old Thaivisa posts. And searching in Thai it links to websites about dinosaurs.

Anyhow it never seemed to be a central theme in the yellow shirt demands. Or a red shirt policy as the guy above you suggested.

A crackdown on nominees has been talked about every 5 years or so since I’ve lived here. Through civilian and military governments. And after a backlash from real estate developers, chambers of commerce, etc they backed down each time. It’s nothing new.

show pony for the gang of thieves, clearly going to enjoy his new greater wealth, but always cast your minds back 6 years to the protest at the stadium next to MBK; when the show ponies puppet masters were saying such delights as,

"shutting down Thailand for 5 years and rid Thailand of foreigners,"

or in other words make it a lot more uncomfortable for foreigners; and the crazed protesters cheered with joy

Wait, they actually said that? I was in Thailand during that time and don’t remember the reds or yellows suggesting that foreigners should be kicked out. And none of their disagreements were around foreigners.

A Google search for this only shows your post.

  3. I paid off my last auto loan with K-Bank in cash. On the card they give you to remind you about the monthly payment and details there's a phone number. Give it a call and depending on the company it'll be an automated system that can tell you how many payments you have left outstanding and the total amount due for paying in full. In the case of K-Bank it was a discount off the balance interest rate.

Bend over backwards for the Chinese .the English girl got 5 minutes before no rape was called.be careful European's we are worthless to them ..

Bit of a difference with the Koh Tao case.

There the woman only said she was raped but doesn't have any evidence.

Here the woman can't say anything because she's dead. And the body was floating in a waterfall. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that something might have happened.

Someone said you get a Yellow Book “if registered “ I have no idea what this actually means, since it is highly unlikely  ( extremely difficult ) to be registered as a Thai resident .

I was replying to the OP who said he met some foreigners who own a condo but only have a blue book. That means they’re not registered as it’s impossible for a foreigner to be registered in a blue book. If they are registered it would need to be in a yellow book.

You're personal experience rings a bell.   I'm sure it is just coincidence but your girlfriend's story could be this girls story, almost exactly, bar the location differences.   Maybe that's what you meant?

I’m not the boyfriend of the Koh Tao girl if that’s what you’re asking!

This happened almost 10 years ago. It was a lesson to me how one can trust what people say but verifying it is equally or more important.

This was of course my first reaction but then I realized that nothing is gained.  Even if he believes her story, if true, then what is he going to do?  This case is colder than Jack the Ripper by now.

This is Thailand. How many times have you heard of a new policy or something else declared with fanfare only to be completely walked back later. If Big Joke finds what he calls new evidence then he most certainly will do what he wants with it, and no one will dare question the reversal.
