  1. Not just his brother was killed by that Israeli strike, but also his brother’s wife and children. Wouldn’t you be upset if someone did this to your brother’s family?
  2. This man is completely off his rocker. He already was, but he’s becoming more deranged and unhinged every day. You’d almost hope Iran managed to drop a missile or two on the White House, or Mar a Lago, see if Trump would think that’s still funny.
  3. More bombs were dropped on Laos alone than the total number of bombs dropped during the entire WWII. I imagine quite a few of those were duds. On top of that, large parts of the jungle in Laos, along the Vietnamese and Cambodian border were mined, as was also the case in Cambodia itself during the Pol Pot regime. The vast majority of those mines was never cleared, so they’re still out there, millions of them, making victims (almost) every single day. And the sad thing is, that for every mine that is cleared, another ten go into the ground somewhere else in the world.
  4. Somehow this reminds me of something he said in 2020. Something about covid being over soon, that it would just disappear….
  5. This from the man who claims you need ID to go shopping: “All we want is voter ID. You go to a grocery store, you have to give ID. You go to a gas station, you give ID.” In 2023, he falsely claimed identification was needed “if you buy a loaf of bread”. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/11/05/politics/fact-check-trump-groceries-identification Why America still puts up with this buffoon is beyond me.
  6. I don’t think he was trying to excuse Noem’s actions, just pointing out the mindless cult following ‘Befehl ist Befehl’ attitude. It’s the excuse that most German soldiers used after WWII, ‘we were just following orders’. Which is total BS, of course. That’s probably also why Republicans and the far right got so mad when those 6 Democratic lawmakers made that video in which they told American soldiers that it is their duty to refuse to follow illegal/unlawful orders. That’s the opposite of what Trump and his ilk want, which is blind obedience to dear leader.
  7. Be careful what you wish for. Lot of Trump voters are now having (or have had) their spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, father, uncle, aunt or whatever deported. And then they scream "this is now what I voted for!!". While in fact it is exactly what they voted for. They just wished this upon others, not upon themselves.
  8. Hi all, This has probably been done to death here, but I really need info on how to live long term in Vietnam, especially in Nha Trang. I am 67 years old, I'm Dutch and retired now. Have been to Thailand many times and wanted to retire there, but a few things (like the air pollution, the really hot hot season, among other things) ultimately made me decide against that. So now I'm looking at Nha Trang. I understand it has one of the best climates in Vietnam, it almost never gets really really hot, and the air pollution situation is a lot better than in most of Thailand. So I would like to know from people who live there what the climate and air pollution are really like. Another - probably more important - question is about visa, staying long term. I understand that there are no long term visas, unless you have quite a bit of money. Which I don't. I get my state pension, plus a private pension on top of that, and that's it. In total I get about 1800 euro (almost 2100 USD) per month. Which should be enough to live on in Nha Trang. So my question is: how do expats manage to live in Vietnam long term? Do you get a 90-day visa, then leave the country and get a new visa, and do that over and over again? If so, is that not a problem with Immigration? I know in Thailand you can not do that. Not anymore, at least. Would love to hear from you guys how that works. What's the housing situation like in Nha Trang? I don't need a condo on the beach, not even close to the coast. I do need one bedroom, though. I'd be happy with a 1-bed condo or (small) house somewhere 5 to 15 kilometers from the coast. Any idea how much something like that would set me back, and how easy (or difficult) it is to find a place like that? I have a drivers license, but I don't have a license to ride a motorbike. That was never a problem in Thailand, though, and I've gotten quite experienced riding around there on one of those small 125 or 150 cc semi automatic or automatic bikes. But I guess it would be better to get my license while I'm there, so my question is how difficult it is to get that in Vietnam. Do you need a Vietnamese bank account when living there? If so, how easy/difficult is it to open a bank account there? These are probably the most important things that I need to know, especially about the visa(s). If you can think of anything else that you think is important, I would greatly appreciate any advice or tips that you could give me. Thanks! Rudi
  9. Rubio says the US wants to “revitalize an old friendship”. Telling Europe to shut the hell up and bend over is probably not the way to go about that.
  10. I just read an interesting theory. Remember groups like the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and such doing their marches? But it’s been eerily quiet on that front. So the assumption is that many of those goons joined ICE, hence no more nazi marches.
  11. Trump Takes Jabs at World Leaders in Fiery Davos Speech! Replace ‘fiery’ with ‘demented’ (or any synonym thereof) and you’d be a lot closer to the truth.
  12. Let’s not forget about good old Elon. Came on a student visa, yet started working anyway. Highly illegal…..
  13. ICE doesn't have the balls to go after the real illegal alien criminals, so like the cowards that they are they go after the low hanging fruit and hang around shopping malls and car washes and such, and stop and harass everyone who looks foreign. And the tiniest of infractions, committed 15 years or even longer ago, is enough to get you deported. What a great country!!
  14. If you want to talk about rants and being triggered, let me remind you of your original post: "Alexandria Ocasio Cortez ... Some gobby leftist democrat bint who is even more stupid and annoying than cackling Kamala Highly unlikely she would ever be a presidential candidate unless the democrats want to lose again"
  15. Not so much a dealmaker, much more a dealbreaker.
  16. When it comes to intelligence, and just being a decent human being, both Harris and AOC run rings around you. That’s why sad and petty little men like you hate them so much, because you just can’t stand it that there are strong women who are superior to you in every possible way.
  17. Yes, that is exactly what I’m advocating. Not. Don’t take everything so literally. I was clearly speaking metaphorically.
  18. The toddler in chief doing the only thing he knows: bully and threaten. When is the EU going to stand up to this wannabe tyrant? Like the immortal words of Sean Connery in The Untouchables: “They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.”
  19. Stephen Miller is the Mussolini look-alike and errand boy slash gopher for the über wealthy oligarchs, many of them not even American. And Trump has been in Putin’s pocket for years. I think they’re mostly calling the shots now.
  20. Hmm, I can't help but wonder why Trump isn't doing the same thing for, say, Myanmar. Thousands of innocent citizens (if not tens of thousands) have been slaughtered there over the last few years, or captured and tortured, or used as slave labor for the Tatmadaw. Would it be because Iran has huge oil reserves, but Myanmar doesn't? Call me a cynic, but I think that's exactly why Trump is willing to 'help' Iran, but at the same doesn't give two hoots about what's happening in Myanmar, which is probably worse than what's happening in Iran.
  21. And your opinion is that that makes it legit to take over Greenland? That many previous US presidents have already drooled over Greenland. Although I very much doubt that many previous US presidents actually have. Maybe you can show some proof of your rather bold assertion? During WWII, the US had over a dozen military bases in Greenland. Almost all of those were abandoned after the war. Greenland has expressed its willingness to allow the US to open up new military bases. Wouldn't that be enough to 'protect' Greenland and strengthen the USA's defence in that particular part of the globe? Why would the USA have to have control over all of Greenland? Make that make sense to me, please.
  22. They don’t give a flying **** about democracy, or ‘liberating’ Venezuela. Big oil companies gave Trump $500 million for his campaign. I’m just spitballing here, but they probably want to get involved here and make mucho dinero. And Trump is going to want a cut of that, no doubt.
  23. Pete Hegseth would back Trump if Trump proposed to invade the Vatican and kidnapping the Pope for being too woke.
