Spot the difference!!!
Spokes vs mag wheels...
---
I think you would call both of these supermoto. Supermotos are basically trail-bikes that have the same front and rear wheel sizes - usually 17", and big fat sticky road tires on them...
A trail bike would have more aggressive off-road tires, and usually has different sized front and rear wheels.
In Canada I have this Qlink 200 supermoto. Here is a photo of the same bike - one is Trail, and one is SM...

Banshee - currently running on HBo is worth watching ( you can get the missed episodes off the web)
Best Sci-Fi series ever --- Stargate Universe !! Doubtful about a 3rd series though. --- maybe because it was trying to revive an old theme/idea - Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. - but SGU was in a league of its own -awesome
And with that .... His credibility evaporated ....
Battlestar Galactica is hugely superior. The mini-series (series 1) explored the themes of truth, terror and torture. And this was at a time when Americans actually believed in a "war on terror".
If you want to see some great (and fun) sci-fi, I can only recommend (again) Odyssey 5

Yes, put car oil. in. Simple - if the clutch starts to act funny, change the oil.
There is no way in hell it will actually damage anything.
(You could run a tube from the leak to the chain, and keep it lubed!)
And there is nothing wrong with saving a few bucks - don't let people spend your money for you!

WOW - I am really glad i clicked on this topic.
2 minutes of my life gone forever...

Seems to me it could go either way. Look like a cool gun-metal, or just cheap plastic...
Sandpaper and/or a wire brush, or some type of rubbing/buffing compound...
Try the front fender first - post a pic

You can get the LS2 carbon helmets for about 6,000b from 320sp or Ninja rider.
Thank you, and everybody else...
-
Thanks. It is the lightness in particular I am looking for. I have a Real Stealth, but wouldn't mind splashing out on something a few classes up (and quite a few pounds down...).
9000 is certainly the upper end for me, but I will check out the HJC.
ps - I'll be in Canada this spring - does anyone know if it is cheaper to buy something pretty good over there? Thanks...
-
Seriously, what is the lightest good helmet made in Thailand? Reasonably priced - 2000 to 7000bt. Anything carbon under 7000?

auntbob. none of these links have anything to do with this case.I really don't think that the government would start complaining here about a tarnished image.i am really blind and missed that or is it that you are maybe seeing things that are not there in reality.
here are a few links to recent spats by the government (snip...) I could go on for a while but have better things to do
It is clear why people stop trying to respond to your ridiculous comments.
You say you "don't think that the government would start complaining here about a tarnished image"
yourauntbob gives some quite good examples of the Thai government complaining about a tarnished image.
And you say he is off topic. Pretty manipulative logic on your part.
He wasn't responding about the topic. He was responding to your challenge.
No wonder people stop talking to you.

Mr Selfridge was enjoyable.
Enjoyable indeed.
And thanks for the recommendation!

Mr Selfridge was enjoyable.
Enjoyable indeed. Great period piece.
And he (Jerry in 'Larry Sanders') plays a nutcase really well...

My Wave has over 60,000km and is now part dirt-bike (see my profile pic). I put in synthetic at about 35,000, and I always drive it hard...
Still runs strong - no smoke - no noises. Great.
Personally, I would change the oil twice in quick succession - just to get rid of all the old oil and to ensure it is full of synthetic...

Train or bus. Neither. Nokair about 1200 bahts 70 minute flight. Why suffer the 10 hour plus trip on the bus. As for the train. It is never on time so the 12 hour trip usually turns into 16 hours plus.
Nakhonchai Air night buses are 9 hours (VIP 650bt).
I think it is better than flying. Flying wastes most of a day - going to the airport early, security, arriving in Bkk in the middle of the day with all the bad traffic, etc. I take the 9:00pm bus, get there 10 minutes before it leaves, can carry as much luggage as I like, and arrive at Bkk at 6:00am. At that time can take a taxi anywhere fast...
As long as you can sleep on a bus...
ps - I tried Nakhonchai Air's sleeper bus once (about 800bt), but I found the seats more comfortable on the regular VIP
-
If it already has over 8,000km, you should consider synthetic oil.

The Sandbaggers (best spy series EVER)
Thanks, got all 3 seasons shortly after your post, watched the first four or so, quite good (writing, characters) given the obvious budget/production limitations.
Not sure how I missed this one way back when?
Glad you liked it. People call it "the best show you never heard of..."
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sandbaggers:
The Sandbaggers inverts most of the conventions of the spy thriller genre. In sharp contrast to the "girls, guns, and gadgets" motif established by the James Bond movies, The Sandbaggers features very few action sequences, no flashy cars, and no high-tech gizmos. On more than one occasion, in fact, characters explicitly disparage the fictitious Bond and the romanticized view of the intelligence business that some amateurs and outsiders have. In contrast, Neil Burnside is a harried spymaster who doesn't drink; Willie Caine is a secret agent who abhors guns and violence; and no character is seen to have sex over the course of the series.

heading south tomorrow, (kanchanaburi) to get away from the smoke. We live in a housing estate (not a village) in Sansai and have garbage collections twice a week and I still can't believe that some Thai's (generally 50+ yr olds) take thier garbage out onto the road and burn it every week. Plastics you name it and the thick black smoke it creates.
And my understanding is that even single exposures have strong and serious health risks. One big snort of burning plastic could be a final game changer. That push over the edge...
---
And last year this time, I rode through smoke way past Pitsanalouk - probably another 100km further south still was smoky...

How on earth did 40km on the moat road become "foolish"?

Yup! Smaller rear gave me a big tall knobby - just slightly shorter than the original tire actually. The longer shocks also gives a bit more ground clearance. That's why I wanted a slightly longer front forks with more excursion - would be perfect! You see I have a rather big 50/50 tire on the front (2.75) - a little heavy, but really holds well. And with the slightly smaller rear diameter, the acceleration is slightly up (top end dropped about 10-15km/hr)
It's fantastic fun on any sort of urban problem - holes, rocks, taking the shoulder at high speeds. I can just make it over the center divider on Huay Keow without bottoming out - a Thai couple applauded me once as I hopped over and left rush-hour behind...

I've been meaning to post these photos for a while...
Last November, after trying three different independent shops who really just dicked me around for a week ("No problem come at 3:00. We have parts..." "Oh sorry come tomorrow" "Oh cannot get - try somewhere else" - etc), I went to the Honda dealership on the way to the bus station - I know they have a large selection of tires.
Took them about two hours - longer shocks, smaller rear rim, and new tires. With new brakes it was 3200bt.
Never found anybody to do longer front forks.
First thing I did was go up to Doi Pui and down the back to Huay Thong Tao. Wet, slippery and a little muddy going down, the front tire didn't slip once!
Through December probably put on 250km on hill trails - mostly off the Samoeung rd. Great fun - handles like a chair!
Not so bad actually, and can really climb everything. Not bad for a bike with 60,000km already on it! (I bought it with 19,000km)
Haven't tried any jumps - and won't!
Not enough torque to do donuts (unless I 'pop' the clutch - which I won't!).
So there it is - happy with my bike!

ps - People were down on me for not going out and finding a shop on my own. Well, I did that and just wasted time. The shop at Canal and Suthep kept me hanging for 2 days, and then he asked his wife and she just waved her hand go away. Nice
The big guy who apparently does a lot of dirt-bikes on ChiangMoi literally didn't even look up. I stood there for ten minutes (I don't know him - first time there), and then asked him about forks for a Wave - he didn't even answer. Just looked away. The woman there just waved her hand go away. Nice
I went to a little shop behind Huay Keow rd that had done decent tuneups for me. I showed him a photo of the knobby tire I wanted on the back - he said fine. I came back the next day - a scooter tire with road tread... Nice
Ok - none of it was nice. It was just a pain. That's why I asked here.
I do get out a lot - I have ridden over 80,000km here. Over the years I have been to dozens of shops and had horrible shit happen to my bikes dozens of times.
A well known Big-bike shop changed the bearing in my steering column (CBR150) - and then the bike handled really improperly for months. It took 5 different shops before it was fixed.
The Honda dealer out MaeRim told me to come in the next morning to fix it. I asked if they had the bearing. "YES". I came the next morning, and they said come back at 5:00!! I asked again if they had the bearing. "Yes!". I came back at 3:00 - my whole bike was in pieces, and three guys were standing around it. NO BEARING! "Mai pen rai" They actually said it! Come back in 3 days - they will have the part. I insisted they take the bearing out of another bike - they finally did.
The Honda guys on Huay Keow once rebuilt my piston when it turned out it was just the electronic ignition box was dead (CBR150). They once gave me back my bike with the front brake disconnected.
So I didn't post here asking for help like a lost invalid. I just wanted to know if there was anybody GOOD.
So the advice to visit every bike shop in Chiangmai wasn't really so useful...

"the Philips 1871 juicer. I found it at the department store in Kad Suan Kaew, but can't find it any other place." - OP
So why didn't you buy it???

Without wanting to attack the OP, I still must ask, is this a joke?
The OP does not seem to ever had feelings for her. Or mention being worried, or sad, that she is gone. Like Landslide above, I would want to know.
It is almost as if she were a pet, "Just like a normal wife", he says... on a salary...
And there is certainly some theatrics going on here - the OP really wants us involved for some reason... "Again, try to keep up with the postings." he says!
And his annoyance at us is misplaced... "I know more about gambling, especially playing cards in Thailand than you ever will."
<deleted>? He may know gambling, but it is clear that he didn't know his wife...
"Think about it." - OP
---
Anyways, here are what I think are some of the odder quotes from the OP (perhaps the OP's wife got tired of 35 years of his odd logic, condescending tone, and lack of involvement).
And if I am completely wrong, and am insulting the OP, I apologize. But this person posted this very odd topic publicly here (TV), and it sounds so one-sided and vague that I can't blindly accept his side of the story...
From the OP (italics and bold added):
what if she spends all of the house proceeds or even opens a business (it wont last forever) and in the future and makes contact with me asking for money?
if it comes to that will believe that my wife was very bad in that SHE SOLD THE HOUSE WITHOUT TELLING ME, RECEIVED THE WHOLE OF THE PROCEEDS IN CASH AND DISAPPEARED. Would you then expect your wife to receive half of your assets on divorce......think about it.
very unusual as per the subject of this thread and yet to be explained. I believe there is a lot more to this. Something on her part is very very wrong and I don't know as yet what this is.
She seemed happy enough during those 11 years, making new friends within the village, frequent shopping trips, etc. There was nothing strange in her behavour, just like a normal wife
It is like my wife wanted to start a new life and completely forget the past.
The last monthly payment to her was to have been 25 February which I stopped thinking she might call me to say 'where is my money?', but not a word.
Uncomfortable feeling when I was told the following morning after my wife disappeared.
I believe that my wife has been very bad to say the least...
I know more about gambling, especially playing cards in Thailand than you ever will. Again, try to keep up with the postings.---

Differences Between Supermoto And Trail
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted · Edited by wjmark
Not bad. I bought it second hand (with 700km on it) from a woman in another province. She told me that it was a little hard to start when cold.
When it arrived, I could see that the kick-start (it has electric too) had been worn from so many attempts to start it!
It wouldn't even start when I got it.
Changed the spark-plug, and it starts first time every time.
I put about 2000km on it last summer and BOY WAS IT FUN!!!
It is pretty underpowered (maybe 15hp) and sounds a little tinny, but other than that it was a hoot. Bad roads, curbs, dogs, small cars - this thing goes over all of them!
Construction quality is ok. The welding is decent, but not beautiful. There are a few surface rust bits already (cheap chrome), and all the rear lights stopped working about a week before I left! And a plastic panel broke too easily...
Also, I couldn't get the battery out for winter. Took the side panel off, unhooked the leads, and...
I spent 3 hours trying to get the <deleted> battery out of the <deleted> bike. It would have come down to me having to remove the <deleted> carb, <deleted> air box, and a whole bunch of <deleted> bracketing just to get near the <deleted> battery. So I didn't.
I took a small hack-saw blade and cut the <deleted> small bracket that held the <deleted> battery. (Let's see how TV handles that <deleted> outburst!!!)
Decent bike. Ok build. And some really stupid design. But runs fines and is super fun. Does about 115-120 maxed out...
QLINK is a Suzuki-partnered company, and it does get reviewed favorably (compared to other Chinese bikes...). People call the motor "bulletproof".
Of course, I'd still rather have the Honda 250 motard, although it is taller than the QLink.
Here is my actual bike:
See the gold anodized aluminum rim? The other side of the rim is almost fully black! The rear wheel rim is fully black on both sides. You can actually see on the gold rim where the black anodizing ran out!!! QUALITY CONTROL???!!!
I wear it like a badge of honour...
