To early in the morning for you OPTUS to "get my drift" so to speak, in simple english its like this...the mind is shaped by the previous season with perhaps some trade in and outs...there for the theory of long range tipping is shaped/based on the previous year once the season proper is in full swing a whole new set of configurations come into play there for changing preconceived thoughts.....Nothing humorous in it a bit of fun yes, thats how i see it.....
No contradictions its about winning....its true i have a dislike for Essendon ( because in the 70's and 80's if anyone kicked us hard while we were down it was Essendon and a 10 goal thrashing in this days was never enough for the blood thirsty Bomber fans ) its also true they only won 2 games last year, after a year out a dozen players with a new coach how were they going to perform? I didn't think they would, think i had them down for maybe 1 win in long range that wasn't realistic but as your ticking as your going that previous year whats etched into my mind...
Enjoy your sunday .....
Fair enough. Time to let that go.
On a person note as some know, i am away soon and my fantasy football prospects will return to the TV preseason conjectured position. It is an ordered world.

So Alex. Who do you barrack for when you tip against The Dees?
You need ask alexia. She is clearer.

Refrain from using personal names Alex.
Everyone else does.
Re the quick pick aspect of the longer range though..... That is whre the fun lies. It is a humorous comparative measure against the day to day. Look at the the variances and results. Bigger forums where participants can share bigger data ; it rocks.
And i like the contradictions in your posting. It is what you are known for! I am going to trade for Zac myself. sic Yeo/Lloyd.

Because learned one i pick teams in the tipping i think will win not from emotion, the Demons are just emerging after many years in the wilderness....there on a roll right now but if we look at there history they havent won more than 2 games in a row (until this current run) this year let alone the last 8 ys....they were playing WCE who we havent beaten in like 9 ys and even longer since we beat them in Perth....the maths didn't look good to me...
I wont be picking them against the Swans either....at least i have more faith in your team than you....
The counter intuitiveness here is beautiful.
Alex, you won't pick Essendon too, yet Zack is your FF captain. Perfectly female and perfectly fine!!

Well,
Two things are certain from the Longer Range comp this week. Firstly, it is all about what will Joe do. Bombs this week and gives Ron a handy break. 68 is a handy score Ronaldo!
Secondly, Alex proves he only has eyes for the fantasy comp as he bottoms out here. Slow descent down the LR ladder. True peanut in the forecasts league but he amassed serious coin for his real dreams.

It is a bit, but you could also argue accounting for all the variables creates a less accurate lens at any particular time, especially this year. Statistically, the axiom that weekly tipping should be better [over time] does not hold but we do think it should. Yet this longer range always throws up these differentials and as such they are not anomalies. This season is unusually even though, in fact I cannot remember a year like it.

Well, it’s official.
Only RIP and Alex are smarter today than four months ago. Still ordinary though, tipping wise!!! Every other LR punter is doing better than their weekly, informed tips. Joe knows he was much smarter before, Ron battles with this irrevocable truth and now Gaz wants to join the “would’ve been mensas but…”.
Round 12 sees Gaz close the gap, leaving the peanuts behind and takes the blind punter of week with a smashing SIX! Congrats Gaz!!
Two 65’s at the top, is commendable though and very competitive in most tipping comps. Keep it up Ron and Joe. Looks like you have competition for the beer ‘n burgers!

Well, it was a short round but enough for Joe to bite back.
A great round sees Joe leap frogs Ron and assume a position he has held most of the season. 5 out of six this week is a good effort and challenges Oxydom’s info smarts in the regular comp.
FJ is proving how egalitarian TV mobs are, when you be ranked last in one comp and lead the other despite the material choices being exactly the same!!
…
.
Anyhow, Ron and Joe still command a nice break from the scurrying waterboys behind. Only half way though…

Round ten. The shortening ~ longer range.
Alex and Gaz make notable if incidental moves this week. The round however sees Ron take charge. Slow and steady rolls Ron;s race, and he has now taken charge. Congrats big guy!! He likes it at the head of the dinner table I am told. Smells a feed.
Joe, our respected if recalcitrant historic leader, has shown some unfortunate consistency. Low weekly picking trending to the high falutin’ longer range. Dropped a spot but class is telling. Re-find that form Joe!!
...
..
.
The peanuts, thanks to Alex’s re-joining rally last week, have clustered some good scores [six’s and seven’s] and collectively closed the gap a little. Cycling season is close and as such the ‘nuts’ at the rear are peddling hard!!

Round Nine.
Longer range has more punters polling better blind this week than being information rich !! Clear winner this week was me, let down by Alex's mob.
Fj hangs on but now sharing the lead with the big guy on site. They seem to be battling it out for the lunch at Bradmans. Alex has kindly joined the peanuts in the gallery at the rear watching those two hack it out.

Longer range/
As it stands after round eight.
FJ has a challenger to his recent dominance as Ronaldo wins the blind fortunes this week. Nice work Ron!!
Overall, a bit up and down with only the predictable punters selecting Essendon and Melbourne respectively / might be a plus in there for the Dees.
Lovin’ Joe’s work at the top. Hopefully, the longer-range form keeps nicely separated from his week to week tipping form!

Classic Will post.
Latency. Passive in its aggressive positioning and always after the fact. It is in keeping with the brand of tribalism on this forum that lets things get ripe.
Factionalism that breeds <deleted> polls and then likes the crap it breeds.

Longer Range is starting to feed some strange stuff into the comparative picking picture/
None least RON's 9 point pick. Big congrats Ronald. First in any tipping comp this year and justifies his footy knowledge. Borrowed or a fluke all happens on lottoland!!
Joking, Ronald and congrats. Trust in the longer range!! Gentle Jo has done so too and still, just, commands the view at the top.
But like all generalisation, this cannot be said for all our bespoke players. Rip is catching the wind from Alex and Optus and just drifting from that view presented. Who wouldn't? He will be back with a better purchase on that sight.
Gaz just plays it steady.

By the bye, how good was Joe Daniher as he moved forward from his arc into midfield. Biases aside, had better, ranging skills than hitherto seen. It is good for football.

I am flucked re fantasy football and big head has me fairly in his sights this weekend. Fair crack comin' !
Not conceding but prepared to see a good run re-shaped. Learnt that you really need to start in a way that allows positive modifications as you go. I need four trades per week atm.
Alex was right in sayin' rip was ripped off. I snuck home by a kick last weekend. Hope this repeats once more, .... just once more. Then Grant can have me on a spit roast.

I think I must accept some responsibility for Old Croc's departure from the sub-forum and tipping comp.
Far too late to delete a comment I posted during round 2, but never too late to apologise, which I now do. Unreserved.
Your comment was an aside radar, but we cannot measure resilience on the net. That is the moral for all of us.
Big of you to own something that may not be relevant.

I would be open to suggestions for "alternative streaming services"555
This is going back a bit but sites like USAgoals used to "alternative stream" all major sport events. Their advertising is a major pain in getting through but I always found a stream. Still use them for the tour de france as i can not get SBS. Be ready to look for and delete ads to cut through the detritus . Last resort stuff but works in the 'alt arena'
Today game is listed for streaming below

A quick note to those watching today.
Young Ben McNiece from my old club Northcote Park, will debut on the MCG forward although a HBflanker. A true journeyman as he was in VFL ranks for four or five years and was just too good the VFL finals last year to be ignored any longer. Great kid, family and even better.... a razor long, killer left foot. Hope to see it in action

EXPERIANCE....dont have enough of it....dont know how to kill off when we have the upper hand....
Team was out of whack once Spencer went out of the game with a shoulder injury ... it robbed the forward line of J Watts...his marking power and mobility....going into the 4th quarter with 2 injuries 2 left on the bench no one at centre half who could take a grap...was pretty easy to see we would get run over....
Might be right. I think M hibberd first up was good but is not the leader you are talking about....yet. One game. Viney was not dominant and there are few others in that echelon you mention. Vince? Don't recall his game at all.
A different point on that game. Richmond had no forward movement all, no positioning when pushing forward from set shots. The experience thing may become more productive on poor structuring as the likes of young Oliver fast tracks and Neal Bullen and Salem keep doing their run and carry and emerge. The dees were fast and Petracha's focus good at times just faded over 100 minutes. Good game just a shity result.

Melbourne played the better football for three quarters. That stupid ~ out on the full with seven secs on the dial at three quarter time was catastrophic and converted. Big brain fade. What happened there? Richmond went in with a head of steam and a sniff when it should have been a four goal lead to the Dee and all the momentum.
There were other 'young' or naive mistakes from the Dees but they played a good brand of footy. The better brand most of the night. I saw young players with loads of talent having a crack. Despite the loss and being a doubter before, would be happy with the team. Definitely something cooking at Casey!
Saw the same signs in North and the saints too this weekend so you pretty much know where to place this post!!
The tigers have that soft underbelly and it will be exposed. 'Eventually' as Manuel says. The fact they hung in there and then 'clicked' is a huge positive for the tigers but they were generally unimpressive despite four points.
THe Dees join the kanga and pies wondering what went wrong. THe saints just hit a Geelong burst no team could with stand. Valiant though.
