I don't agree with you about Boomer.

Had lost none of his pace and craftiness and still one of the best kickers in the team.

    Easily had another year IMO.

Came 5th in last years F&B.

Have to find a spot for Waite if when/ he gets fit.

Brent had lost a yard but those beyond the boundary line talking points do not allow for the bigger picture to gell.

North could not gut the club and rebuild and keep boomer. Pace, younger kids have too. Watch simpkin  if allowed and 'craftiness' is a barrier those unknown trying to come through. THere was no mutual horizon for Boomer, the club or the ramification of the other five or six veterans similarly flicked for boomers continuation.   Clubs need balls to make those decisions and north made the right one for the group. Perhaps if they were just trimming the list he gets one more year but they weren't and it was time.

Would like to read who Waite displaces in last night's 22 regarding talls, Will.

  2. Boomer was done but i understand the love. Re Waite. Sure, would have added but who gives? Pruess after last week couldn't be dropped. Goldenstein showed last night why he is all Australian. Ben Brown is not seconds material and has the stickiest hands and best mobility of his type going around, suddenly Waite makes them too tall at Etihad against the dogs. Cunnington has matured and shows his pedigree yet the roos need another three of these. That young kid Jy simpkin has some zip and poise and looks to have scope too. I was a little disappointed not to see more from 'Zeibell' [speeling pls refer to the Nth banner writers!!]   given where he could be at. Need to step into that captain's role more on field.

Your comments on Thomas are interesting Jo and concur. Since being asked to be a more team oriented player he has not rebounded so well. Some players are front runners and he might be one. Was not a great contributor last night but every team needs his skill sets. No sure what the go is there.

The ladder is interesting even this early. The swans, dawks and roos given how the kangas are playing at the bottom is all wrong. Only Adelaide at top makes any sense atm but my point would be how fluid things are this year. I like the evenness of the competition as it stands just now.

Somebody made a comment re aging teams.  I thought Hawthorn actually approached this issue the right way theoretically, ie their aging list and adding Mitchell for Mitchell and Omeara for Lewis a masterstroke but clearly there is something wrong down there amongst that group. Burgoyne, Hodge Mcevoy, Gibson, Breust and Gunston have lost heart. Cannot recall Gunston's last goal?? They missing Hill badly and Issac Smith just not stepping into the senior material on field. THere is talk in town that some are disgruntled about how lewis was moved on and shit is cancer in a group. Lewis was popular for some reason. The dawks will get over it sooner, unfortunately, rather than later but my schadenfreude for them from the early eighties is not finished and am enjoying their demise atm/

I liked the clean out North did. It was 'clean' and gave the club scope and really sponsored last night's game. THey would have been belted with their older list last night. Petrie was player i was truly sorry for and  this point is counter intuitive as he was possibly slower than Deledio but he had the heart and grace of a club in him. He was a good pick up out west.

The roos are the only team to win a cup from 0-4.

0-8 might be a bit difficult, don't think were the worst side going around but it;s looking that way.

Bit stiff in the tipping Alex,i'll make my run later.

I was barracking for them Gentleman  Jo despite picking against them. THey are not playing like a team zip n four and show real pluck. It was a great game and both sides play a good brand. I thought the three talls, Goldy,  Pruess and brown might be tricky against run and carry of the dogs at Etihad but they seemed to do both. benny Brown is great footy player to have after Petrie. Must have rested Pruess last quarter but definitely unlucky kangas. No Easy beats. Dogs needed the win and whilst three wins on the clock nothing is sure with sydney and Hawthorn bottom eight, it will be a close season methinks. Good start to round 4.

Side note terrible week to delist Goldy and go solo in the rucks, FFwise.

  4. We are the navy blues ...the song sang

A terrible day weather wise but good to be reminded of our youth and winter sports in melbourne. For all the rain, there still was no mud. Drainage incredible. I was moving bucket up and down the hallway. These footballer were unmasked by the wet weather skills. Have none and been lost. More like a game of A league.

However, congratulation must be issued to Carlton who just just handle it better all day.

  5. THanks Ron.

I am up with those setting issues and tweaking notifications et al. Even posted in the feedback thread some time back. There was a period when TV tech were changing stuff and every time you posted in a new thread ~ forum,  it sent you updates. Anew post you got updates. Maddening. I hit 1200 unopened emails [inbox] and could not via windows 10 and hotmail bulk delete [a dose of schadenfreude for our local fruiting techwise punter].

Bulk deletions still an issue on hotmail for some reason and must tediously attend to each. This is not unique to me it appears/

But your care, Ron,  is noted!!

    Go bombers!!

  6. The mut can wait.

Hate to say it but i be be stuck with chooks whipping boy. He needs to get the pill and use it otherwise early trade. Have also learned i have too many unproductive dollars forward, and not a wide enough spread. Ie no melbourne players, which, for the first time in my life is hurting. A few other low cost enterprises from other desultory teams might also help my cause. THis experience might even temper my outlook, craft a better person, a 'Tim' with tolerance extending to footballing foes as I become informed across non biased platforms.

THen again it may not change me at all. And i will do a Joboss.

  7. Hey Joboss, you have a green player [mccluggage] on the bench and a couple of doubtfuls on field. Might want to have a quick look. Then again i may have misunderstood things here. Got three doubtful starters myself, but they cannot be shifted atm. GL/

Radar. Carlton Essendon games are always 50/50 cut throat games. The negligible form out gets thrown. I look forward to these especially,  remembering the horror,  the two slowest players in the '99 AFL taking each other on, Fraser Brown and Dean Wallis ....  and Fraser being a smidgen faster. Gave the kangas a flag. Regardless, hope for a good spectacle.

A few tricky games this week punters!

  8. Radar,

Big clash. Leave the skirts at Naughtons. Your girls can get them after the game!

To all else. Go forth!! We need more south Aussies on weekends like this. Coin flip for that derby and  picks.

Eagles travelling is an early test. Unravel and the the descent from Richmond is clear.

We all know the pies and and swans will set the round off right with a great clash.

sceadugenga is having trouble posting to thaivisa at the moment and has asked me to post this for him.

Tried to post this article in the footy forum today.

Having a lot of trouble posting on the forum since the adblock bizzo, makes no difference, adblock on or off.

    Hardly bother now.

If you think it will be of interest feel free to add it to the discussion,

Agree and sympathise with sceadugenga. I am personally disappointed with the forum's position re adblockers.

TV is thoroughly one-eyed with no respect to the hand that feeds them.

I do  know since the forum has commenced other things to circumvent these adblockers, I  have been received gross excess emails from this site. Does not endear me at all/

I think I would agree a lot of money for someone who has shown some talent and the possibility of having the right genes but then I suppose it is no difference to the race horse industry or other animals. Sounds like a bit of a meat market!!

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

    It was a designer leak.

Kid might be worth a bit but other parties are having fun with Kelly @ 9/4/9. That is story round two.

Where is Rodney Grinter when we need him

That is the problem with Melbourne.

You have to go back 28 years ++++++ on the smallest memory,  to find some love. Rodney Grinter.!!!

He had a crack no doubt Ozzy.

Let's spend six minutes on that

With probably six of their best starting 22 on the injured list it is not an ideal time to lose two key players to suspension but Hoges and Lewis did the crime ,now they gotta do the time.
Luckily Vince is back this week and expect Bugg to be selected, with Watts to play forward.
But then again, what would I know,Im the twit who tipped Collingwood.

Picked the pies too and it is irritating. As you painted Ozzy, both Melb boys are guilty, on tape anyway but Lewis should have known better. Novitate error. Hogan connected but could have really decked the bloke if cleaner and two weeks is on the money.
