  1. I could unlikely say that I don't have any close friends here.. I know a lot of people, but that's another thing.... now, I really think is a personal problem, I'm not the kind of friendly person, and it takes me time to build up friendships, even relationships.. Weird.. I'm not a grumpy alien either, I may be shy? Well, if u know me in person u wouldn't think so, most of the people that "knows me" (put it like that cuz I think that thre are no one that can really say that) will think that I'm a pretty strong character woman.. uhmm.. Somehow yes, somehow not.. Depends.

Anyways, I don't blame the rest of the people for not being my prototype for a friendship or anything else.

    yeah, im weird. haha...

I'm weird too but I'm not shy. When I was in school, I was one of the 3 class leaders for 9 consecutive years. I can talk immediately with strangers. I'm very polite and friendly but when it comes to close friendship, I don't feel the need. I don't expect helps from friends and I don't have anything that they can help. If I have a problem, I know what to do. If I decide to do anything, I never regret. I still share my stories or concerns with friends I know before but I never meet them.

  2. My mother dropped her reusable pad at work :o . She said people who walked with her might have not noticed as it was turning dark in early evening.

I'm the only dinosaur here I swear. My grand mother & mother used the washable cloths which were made from cotton mosquito nets. They bought a few meters from the market, go home, cut into the sizes they need (40cm x 40cm for instance) and sewed the rears. We washed by hand so I have to admit it was a terrible feeling washing them. I felt the love and care from mom when she bought material and made the pieces for me. I used these about 2 years until they imported and manufactured the sanitary napkins.

Needed to hang them out under the sun but my father was very strict not to go under the strings where we hung the things :D . He said his sisters dried their undies inside their pants or blouses and no one ever see their undies.

During my mother's time, there was only the huge "pillow" :D with the brand Bach Tuyet (Snow White). It was really huge.

During that time, there was no good detergent or soap, so when washing, we had to sink them for a day with soap before rinsing. Not a good practice then. Very grateful we have sanitary napkins.

  3. i recently got eyelash extensions rather than tinting, which is really cool! i didn't know they existed until a friend showed up with them. the glue lasts about 3-4 weeks. make sure to get the medium or short ones as the long ones look a bit freakish. they cost 800 baht and take about an hour. i got mine at nancy's salon on soi chanasongkram behind the wat across from khao san.

This should be amazing. I'm interested in hearing more. Do they extend just the tips of your eyelashes?

  4. It helps a lot if one has small single eyelids. Those with Western / European eyes may not need but if their eyelids are not even, they should use. Sure it hurts a bit when you pull it off. Do it slowly starting from one end to the other. Next time you see another model wearing make up, look at their eyes. A friend gave me the shining types made in Japan but I prefer the clear one with Korean wording.

I have a picture to show you. Let me figure out how to post it in here :o

  5. Do you know where to buy double eyelid tapes?

I can't find them anywhere in supermarkets in BigC, Tesco Lotus, Watson's, Siam Paragon, Central.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I bought something like 10-20 Baht for 10 pairs. They're cut in the suitable shape and you just take out and place on your eyelids. When attending a wedding and you need a proper make up, these work wonder.

    Thanks for any reply.

  6. Location: Novotel, lobby floor

    What they do:

I got this info from Suvarnabhumi Immigration 3 months ago when I said I wanted to do the Re-entry before checking in. Haven't called them so not sure if numbers are good.

  7. I thought so hard if I should post in this thread. I don't want to be abused here.

That year my family set up a man for me. I liked him and we had a drink. After a few weeks, he phoned and asked me out on the Valentine's night. That night I had an appointment to teach English as a private tutor. The man then kept quiet and never visited me again. And the boy I taught didn't show up that night! Destiny! If you're not meant for each other, something will happen to split you up.

  8. Saw a short video on Thai TV that someone is diving among corals and fishes and suddenly snack bags slapped on his face and bags are floating all over the place.

Until the government officially ban using plastic bags, it's now a weird thing to carry your own bags to supermarkets or markets.

In my recent 2 trips to CP Freshmart near my home, I brought my own Tesco Lotus bags. Needless to say the lady at counter and her colleagues (delivery men, I think) smiled at me for acting "mei muan krai" (not like anybody else, different from other people). I just smiled and said "I have too many bags at home so I don't want to bring home more".

The old lady next door is getting used to it. Every time I buy eggs, tomatoes, onion leaves, etc., she doesn't take out her bags. The other old lady in market almost shouted "mei dai" (cannot) when I asked her to give the lemongrasses to me and "mei tong sai thoong ka. I have a basket on my bicycle". Yes, I go by bicycle. One more reason for me to stay skinny and help save the benzene oil.

  9. Hi there ladies,

    (I have a cute avatar :o )

I got a free sample of Olay Total Effects with the wording "for blemish prone skin salicylic formula daily moisturiser".

I have tried it for a month now at my forehead twice a day after cleaning face with regular water but I see no progress. Hence my question: do those skin care creams really work or do I just waste my time?

I saw some ladies wearing make up and their faces are so smooth. How can they have that?

My skin is a little oily. Since I'm using Marvelon, I don't have pimples like when I was single.

    Thanks for any reply.

  10. The shorts you want to buy can be found in Thailand in Camel brand. They have fake items (in Thailand) with wording Cami and Adventure something which looks similar to Camel.

I used Vietnamese clothes for 31 years until I moved to Thailand. There are many reliable brand names but you must know where to buy. There are low quality clothes also, like you get an adidas pull over for a couple of dollars. If people buy from markets or on the street, chances are they get the fake items. Go to department stores / shopping malls and look for those shops selling only their brands.

From my experience, many clothes I saw in Singapore are made in Thailand.

  11. I can't answer your question, but hope I can shred a light.

My mother from Vietnam brought to Thailand a huge bag of fresh vegetables of 6 or 7 kinds, 5 or 10 boiled eggs with baby ducks inside, 2 kinds of plants and 2 tiny plants of each kind, and no one stopped her.

I brought in a fresh orchid from Vietnam about 30cm long, without pot, put it in a paper shopping bag and carried with me to the plane. No one asked anything.

These happened in 2005 and 2006.

  12. Suan Phlu? Ground floor - report to the queue number assignment desk in lobby area telling them why you are there and showing your forms if you have ready. They will give you a number and you proceed to large room to the right. You wait for number and then present your paperwork.

Lopburi, do you happen to know what the other part of that Suan Phlu office is about? The first time we came there, we used this section. After that, looked like the renovation is completed and we used the new section as you said in your reply. But I still saw many people at the old section with queue numbers.

    Thank you
