Which is why life will evolve to survive whatever the climate. Humans refuse to adapt to a changing world, which is why we will be extinct once the climate really changes. One only has to look at the marvelous stone creations left by some civilisation far more advanced than us in Sth America to realise that nature can kill us off in a cosmic microsecond. We live by the grace of nature but have become so arrogant we even imagine we can change climate with electric cars and windmills. Silly humans!

Why are most movies released post-2000 unwatchable?
thaibeachlovers replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Entertainment
Indeed. Batman started out as a light hearted type movie franchise and ended up in some dark abomination with Batman fighting Superman. One's mind is boggled. Could that be the Edsel of movie franchise films? -

That was actually a good movie, but it didn't take itself too seriously, and the leads were actually likeable. BTW, there were dwarves in it, along with fairies. -

The first Deadpool was good the second is garbage. All those Guardian of the Galaxy type movies started well and degenerated into mind porridge till they became unwatchable. I liked transformer movies till they started taking them seriously. Same with Ironman, started well then they thought they were actual quality movies, put a ton of money into special effects and reduced them to a shallow mockery of the genre. The actual worst part of the fiasco was when they started putting women into kick ass abominations like Wonderwoman. Also putting really unlikeable women into movies, and pretending that was cool or something. For an example of a woman carrying a strong female character in a high quality series, look no further than Dana Delaney in China Beach. A strong female lead in a well written and produced series, and she didn't kick ass once. That's what happens when movies are made by committee. When there are 5 different writers and it was directed by multiple directors it's going to be garbage. -

Easily solved- don't rewatch movies. -
I put it on the rise of corporations which depend on deflection to allow their inexorable rise to the destruction of the human race in their greed for ever more power and money. Everything that has been consuming the fevered minds of the sheeple has been clever deflection from the dark and devious things the corporations have been doing. Because of deflections to nonsense like the alphabet idiocy, abortion as birth control, and the gender insanity, not forgetting man made climate change and covid lockdowns ( their 2 best so far ), the ground work has been prepared for AI robotics destruction of work for humans and the cashless society, and what follows is like nothing ever visited on the unfortunate human race before. Happily I don't plan on being around much longer, so I hope to avoid the worst of it. Whether Trump or Harris wins is actually of no importance whatsoever, as they don't control much beyond what wallpaper to put in the W H master bedroom. As always, everything above is my opinion.

That's because no one cares about Oz politics. It's as boring as Oz women.

We have chickens in NZ.

It's not an insurrection unless you have a few guns on display. IMO that little skirmish doesn't come close to an insurrection except in the fevered imaginings of Trump haters.

Perhaps they'll say she was tired after a long flight, or she had a cold. They thought it would work for Biden, and they don't seem to learn from their mistakes eg after HRC failed they try again with a darker clone of HRC. Might help if she could decide if she is black or Indian.

Kamala probably welcomes protestors as they inflate her shabby audience numbers. -

I would but when they are all along the lines of this gem, what would be the point? Yes he suggested shooting protestors in the streets. And yes it very well could be a 'bloodbath' if Trump is elected. If you start posting something that I can take seriously I will. I'm sure you're capable. -
What does it say about Americans that vote for KAMALA

Which is why she is going to be a loser. If she was better than a sneeze in winter she'd be ahead of Trump in the polls by miles and miles. -

For the umpteenth time it doesn't matter how many vote for her, given the only thing that counts is the E C. BTW Trump is doing well in the swing states, apparently. Be afraid, very afraid, Trump is coming for you, -

You'd have made a better argument had you omitted the reference to "facts", which are in short supply from Harris. To be sure I'd rather have a man that makes people feel better by not starting wars for them to die in, than a woman been in the journey to WW3 up to her neck. -
You could just not click on posts like that, or have a vacation from AN till after the election. Is that too hard?

We don't have controversies about abortion or the alphabet thing, and we are too far away from everywhere for rubber boats so nothing about illegal immigrants either. I guess we are just not chaotic enough to care about. However, I'm pretty sure something really awful is coming along, though I can't post what it is on here.

Oh goody, goody. I'm sure I can find an Irish ancestor that was sent to the New World as a slave, so I should be in line for a bit of that I've been traumatised all my life by the thought than an ancestor of mine was a slave there, but I'm sure a few hundred thousand $ will ease my mind. https://www.irisheyesofva.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Irish_Slavery.pdf In 1649, Cromwell began a campaign of terror on Ireland. All captured soldiers were transported to be sold into slavery. A few months later, in 1650, 25,000 Irish were sold to planters in St. Kitt. During the 1650s , over 100,000 Irish children, generally from 10 to 14 years old, were taken from their parents, and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In fact, more Irish were sold as slaves to the American colonies from 1651 to 1660 than the total existing “free” population of the Americas!

Do you actually know anything about him at all, or just making it up? https://www.kingstrust.org.uk/about-us/history It all began in 1976, when His Majesty King Charles III, when he was His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, had a bold idea. Having completed his duty in the Royal Navy, His Majesty became dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK. He founded The King's Trust (formerly The Prince's Trust) to deliver on that commitment.
