  1. Ah, I see I misunderstood. However, IMO British values originate in British culture, the culture that ruled a large part of the planet, and with some discrepancies tried to bring light to what they considered backward people. They were certainly preferable to the Spanish or the French. British values- Hmmmmm. IMO they would be fairness, determination, a willingness to see the job through, endurance, fortitude, patriotism. Those familiar with the British in Antarctica and trench warfare in WW1 will be acquainted with British values.
  2. Making it up, again? Across the board means everyone and obviously that's not true. The last few weeks are due to the woke media trying to turn a pig's ear into a silk purse.
  3. It was a suggestion. Meanwhile do you have any concern for the Palestinian prisoners killed in israeli prisons, or is it OK when the "most moral" do it, and only really really bad when Hamas does it?
  4. I am very aware of what breakdancing is and when the Olympics allows kids to run up a climbing wall as a "sport" might as well include breakdancing, and how high a guy can pee up a wall. It's not breakdancing per se, but the entire Olympics which as been turned into some sort of mockery of what it used to be when all amateur. BTW, I'm all for "grassroots" sport, and that should be it for most "sports".
  5. I think it's great that Oz is able to allow an older person to live her dream. The worship of youth just annoys me immensely. Perhaps all the 18 year old Aussies are too busy looking at rubbish on social media to get off their fat backsides and do something.
  6. No, those are just very angry people doing what very angry people do.
  7. I could go into a long list, but I'll let Wikipedia take the time and save my fingers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_the_United_Kingdom Certainly, it was British culture that let Britons rule a large part of the world for a very long time, and IMO it was the loss of British culture in the WW1 trenches that saw Britain reduced to the sad sack it has become. Nevertheless, I'm sure it still lurks in unexpected places. If I was to think of two words to sum up British culture it'd be Pax Britannica. You do know what Pax Britannica was, don't you?
  8. The world we live in was built by people "giving it a go". Good for her, and the mockers can take a running jump. It's not like they ever did anything worthwhile themselves, is it?
  9. Sport? Do tell. I think it's a bit sad that anyone spends a large part of their life dedicated to something so fleeting as "sport", but I grew up when there were no "professional" sportspeople in NZ- none, zero. People did sport as a hobby, but their life wasn't about it. Now it's all tv interviews, 15 minutes of fame, stupid costumes, and money, money, money. Sad world we live in, IMO.
  10. Google tells me it started in the late 1960s, which seems about right.
  11. Perhaps the guard just found out that his entire family had been killed by the israelis. Something like that tends to make people do things in anger. Meanwhile, according to the BBC 13 prisoners have died in israeli prisons since October due to beatings and withholding of medications. Do you have any concern for them Bkk Brian? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68780112
  12. Red meat for his willfully ignorant followers… Given the claims that Biden was fully in command of his mental capabilities till the debate changed all that, one suspects that "willfully ignorant" applies to a large number of Biden's supporters ( pre debate ).
  13. I suspect you are trying to be controversial with that, or just baiting. Just because they seem to have been ignored for many years behind a wave of woke culture imported from the ghettos of New York, it doesn't mean that British values have actually vanished.
  14. IMO rich people love the stock market as it allows them to transfer money from the sheeple to themselves.
  15. How does it feel to have Trump loom so large in your life that you have to add a snide remark about him to your post in a thread that is zero to do with him?
  16. I thought this would be a thread mocking breakdancing as an Olympic sport. Sadly I was mistaken. If this <deleted> passes for sport, the Olympics are beyond redemption. They already became a bad joke when they allowed professionals to compete.
  17. I hope this goes to court, and the DOJ's dirty tricks are made public. I suspect they'll try and hush it up with an out of court settlement.
  18. Probably getting a rush program of boosters so he can look normal next time his handlers trot him out to read a speech they wrote for him. I suspect that whomever is in control of the W H it ain't Biden. I assume that Biden had to approve sending a guided missile sub to the M E, which is a massive provocation, and is probably increasing the chances of a real ME war, so he should be in the W H ready to assume command in the event that it does kick off.
  19. Do you take everything so seriously? It was a figure of speech. BTW this is just a forum for our opinions, not the word of God above. Jai yen.
  20. I have the opposite view. IMO if israel had not spent decades oppressing Palestinians and stealing their land Hamas would not exist and there would be no conflict.
  21. One wonders how the US would like it if the UN decided to give half of Texas to the first Nations on the basis they inhabited the land 2,000 years ago.
  22. Created in the first place by allowing an alien culture to immigrate en mass. The "rivers of blood" speech by Enoch comes to mind. That ghostly laughter you can hear is Enoch laughing from the grave.
  23. That's interesting. I never had any boozy friends and we never talked about sports. Of course some of them drank alcohol, but only in moderation. Never had anything like the American style get together in a basement to watch sport on tv and get pissed.
