  1. I can be included in the 39%. IMO it's used now to mock the radical left and their druthers.
  2. Democracy in action! Don't like it, change the government next election.
  3. The biggest criminal in US history Are you talking about Nixon?
  4. If he can prove coercion he has a case. I believe he was coerced.
  5. True. It's just a "wish list" at present. The final budget will depend on the GOP, as they control the money. At the moment he can say anything he wants. He should have done it all when the Dems controlled the house, but he didn't!
  6. The Australian solution was to stop people dying at sea, and it's worked. As I see it the UK version is for the same reason. To allow the same situation to continue is to allow more loss of life at sea, IMO.
  7. Then they can take their own measures to stop the immigrants landing without legal entry requirements. Hasn't Hungary done so? I thought Italy was already refusing to allow "rescue" ships docking in Italian ports.
  8. They apply from the first safe country they get to.
  9. IMO Charles will come to regret that he didn't pass it directly to William. If he doesn't come to his senses soon, IMO it's going to be difficult to keep the monarchy in it's present form. IMO he and Camilla are just too unpopular to be the right people to save it.
  10. The Ukranians have no defense against hypersonic missiles, according to Al Jazeera- they just go too fast. The latest attack has demonstrated that nowhere in Ukraine is immune to Russian missile strikes. The latest US budget negotiations will be interesting if the GOP decide that US $ are better spent in the US than in Ukraine.
  11. The real benefit of this forum, as with ThaiVisa before, is for the posters on the specialist subforums. There are two more popular subforums that are probably needed to get numbers up for the advertising, but both of them have seen a reduced number of posters compared to a few years ago, IMO. I certainly find a lot less threads worth posting on.
  12. I'm not really looking for answers, and just hanging around waiting to pass over, when all will be explained, but it'd be nice if the waiting room was more pleasant. If I created this reality I must really, really hate myself.
  13. No matter the truth, if one's life sucks very very suckily no miracles are going to fix it, short of God whispering the winning numbers of Lotto in one's ear.
  14. I'm not sure if I agree with that, but I know the pills the Dr gave me for it didn't do much more than make me impotent. I think my depression lifted when I stopped working in a toxic environment.
  15. Sometimes I wonder if I was a really bad person in a previous life, which would mean I'd have to believe in Karma, and I don't, at least I'm not convinced that it exists.
  16. Whatever their failures on other things, stopping channel crossings is not one of them.
  17. LOL. If all I had was large notes I'd pop into the nearest 7 11 and buy something cheap, just so I could have smaller notes.
  18. and if the "twitter users" don't like it they can stop being "twitter users". Who really cares about twitter anyway?
  19. I wish him well in his pursuit of justice. I hope he wins big time.
  20. Apologies if a bit off topic, but I just started reading Robert Ludlum's book The Moscow Vector, written in 2005, that shortly after it begins describes how a Russian president ( obviously based on Putin ) is building up forces on the Ukrainian border as a prelude to invading. Seems like fiction becomes reality!
  21. NATO, like any organisation needs a purpose to exist, especially as when it requires vast amounts of taxpayer money to be. What else would they say? I remember the cold war era quite well, having once considered serving in BAOR, and I also remember most of us carried on with our lives quite well, despite having the Soviet Bear supposedly desiring to take us all over.
  22. Almost first lesson I learned in LOS was to give near to exact price when paying for anything.
