  1. Mr Trump is merely trying to reform and update financial practices in the United States, part of his laudable nay magnificent efforts to put right the damage of previous years, and drag the country kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. The fact that he stands to make shedloads of cash out of it is merely coincidental!
  2. The United State's record with keeping promises to and paying off/compensating indigenous peoples is not particularly good historically. 57 million dollars is not, in the big picture, such a large amount; however if promised would it ever materialise?
  3. So a bit like annexing Greenland, orCa ada for that matter?
  4. Tell you what, I shall take my lead from you?
  5. "Methinks thou doest protest too much"!
  6. I am really not sure that there is any point Mr Carney or Canada engaging with Mr Trump. If you take his threats to take over Canada at face value, then he has turned the US into a hostile power; all that Canada can do is wait until he moves, concentrate on building alliances and then frame an appropriate response. If he is trolling, then just ignore him.
  7. Yet another duplicate post - haven't a clue what is going on! 😃
  8. Overheard on VHF Channel 16: "Hobart Coastguard, Hobart Coastguard, this is Incat Hull 096, Incat Hull 096, has anyone got a charger?" 😃
  9. Quite unlike you then! Still you have your particular combination of racial and political bigotry, coupled with spreading salacious lies about people's private lives to keep you occupied and happy!
  10. Friday (9th) is the day of the "Royal Ploughing Ceremony. Normally Government departments and offices close, everyone else just carries on as normal. Sunday (11th) is Visas Bucha Day, a big Buddhist Day. Therefore the bars are shut on that day. Because it falls on a Sunday, Monday 12th is observed as a public holiday, albeit the bars are open. As some have pointed out, the local elections in some areas mean that in those areas bars will also be closed on the Saturday evening.
  11. 1) I presume you mean "a better life". 2) I agree that it is profoundly wrong, no, I would go further and say it is an obscenity, that both India and Pakistan choose to spend money on nuclear weapons programmes whilst so many amongst their population have no access to healthcare, live in extreme poverty, no access to clean water and suffer problems of child nutrition. 3) Is it a coincidence that you have chosen to make a comment, 10 days on from my comment, sardonically and totally falsely suggesting perhaps that I am linking this with illegal immigration, but in no way adding to or contradicting my point, 24 hours after our exchange over HAMA'S abuse of the Geneva Convention. An exchange which you were unable to close.
  12. Immigration will show great interest in that when you present on return!
  13. I might add, the stated aim of HAMAS, echoed by the chants of those who protest in Western Countries in support of them, are to conduct another Holocaust. The savage slaughter, infanticide, rapes and hostage taking of October 7th 2023, conducted with relished and boastful cruelty are a foretaste of what is in store for the entire population of Israel if HAMAS are ever allowed to gain the upper hand.
  14. Go and read "article 23" - it removes the obligation to any occupying power if the supplies are diverted, misappropriated or otherwise under control of the "resistance ". That is exactly what Hamas are doing. Understanding that, along with understanding what initiated Israel's moves against Hamas and their aims in Gaza (which astonishingly you regard as not relevant!) may help you to reassess your muddled thinking.
  15. Chomper, you are (as so often) ignoring some brutally simple facts. Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Hamas launched attacks (rockets, bombs and raids) against Israel virtually continually, culminating in the slaughter of October 2023. That is why Israel has now effectively reoccupied Gaza. Occupying forces have responsibilities under various conventions; if there is a widespread hostile armed resistance movement along the lines of Hamas, then Israel is simply unable to meet those responsibilities. This is without considering the widely witnessed and reported fact that Hamas takes foreign aid and diverts it to it's fighters.
  16. Yes it was outrageous - apart from anything else, that shiny blue suit was quite the nastiest outfit ever to have been seen on a British politician - even Screaming Lord Sutch was usually better dressed! No wander Lord Ali felt the need to buy him some decent clothes!
  17. As ever, one doesn't have to look far to glimpse irony in Trump's social media antics. Consider two offences effectively made obsolete by modern democratic practices: treason and blasphemy. Criticism or protest at this regime are met by howls about treason from many of Trump's supporters, howls reminiscent of Ian Paisley's Ulster frothing in the 1970s and 1980s! Blasphemy - oh you don't understand him, he is merely trolling!
  18. How can that be? He is a "falang", and as is well known we all look the same!
  19. Narcissistic plonker. She is probably well rid of him.
  20. I'm not sure that there really is an alternative, given Hama's often declared intention to continue fighting whatever happens, with the aim of destroying Israel. If they withdraw Hamas will take back control, and the rockets and murder raids will begin again.
  21. And given that there are 60 odd million of them in the USA, rather a silly thing to do!
