  1. I'm dropping the price a couple thousand baht. Price is now 128,000 baht.
  2. Chlorine searchers, hang in there for a bit. I have a family member in Chonburi who has a chemical import business and can get the 50kg calcium hypochlorite 65%. Can I provide her LINE ID here or that forbidden? It sounded like a tub would be in the 4,500 baht range plus delivery from Chonburi area. Also, please note that the supplier manages the shipping. Not my in-law. So, if someone can let me know about posting the LINE ID, I will follow up. Since a previous poster put up a link to a pool company ...Here is the LINE ID for checking out the cholorine: srujiroj Good luck and hope you can save some baht. dj
  3. I purchased this Honda from the estate of an American who passed away while over here. The family asked me if I was interested and I thought I would like a bigger bike. I find the bike too big for me. I'm 71 and it's just too much bike for an old geezer. The motorcycle is in excellent condition. Never in an accident or tipped. There are a couple minor scratches that were on it when I bought it. One photo shows the scratches circled in blue. All the paperwork is available, green book, death certificate from U.S. Embassy, but is missing the owner's manual. The deceased owner purchased the bike WITHOUT decals. The bike is located at my home in Kaeng Krachan, Phetchaburi province. Approx. 75 km from Hua Hin, 55km from Cha Am, and 35 km from Phetchaburi. ASKING: 130,000 Baht. You can email me at djohn48 at hotmail dot com if you are interested. I do have this bike advertised on BahtSold as well. Thanks, DJ
  4. This sounds like a serious eye operation. I would email what is claimed to be the best eye clinic in Thailand and ask them for an estimate. https://www.rutnin.com/en/home/ I would check other private hospitals because prices vary greatly for some services.
  5. I used this person from Hua Hin for my well in Kaeng Krachan. 125 meters deep and a tough well to drill. Cost was, I think, about 145-150k baht. Very drinkable water but hard as heck. I installed a salt tank and resin tank water softener system and that keeps the white scale build-up from forming. The owner of the following company speaks good English. Akarapat Somrang (Pip) Managing Director Pro Drill Limited Partnership Phone - Fax +66 32 535353 Mobile : +66 86 335 335 3 Mobile : +66 806 800 900 It's been about 10 years since the well was drilled. We did contact him about 4 years ago about drilling a well for a fried of ours. I hope he's still in business.
  6. I don't believe there is one. Whenever I'm doing paperwork (90 day, annual, etc.) at the office in Tha Yang, there are people from Cha Am doing their paperwork there.
  7. Here are a couple photos of one of the larger centipedes found around my home in Kaeng Krachan. It took awhile but I was able to tame this one. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. It had actually drowned in my pool. I was bitten on the thumb ( I had thick leather gloves on at the time) by one about 1/2 the size of the one on my arm. Took about one hour for the pain to go away. However, my thumb felt bruised for a couple days after the bite. Stay safe!
  8. My wife purchased a set of JBL over the ear bluetooth headphones for me to use when she's watching some Korean soap with dubbed in Thai. The screeching, hideous, unbearable dubbing that is commonly used over here. That being said, these JBL's cost about 2,700 baht but the sound quality and length of time between recharges makes them worth the cost. I'm going n 71 and my hearing isn't the best and I have a heck of a hard time understanding the words being spoken when using the standard built-in Samsung speakers. The JBL's made a huge positive improvement. Bye-the-way, I have a Samsung smart TV as well so I know first hand these are compatible. Actually, any bluetooth speakers should work.
  9. S DENTAL CLINIC 10/393 Mooban Nongkae (Across the main street from the Marrakesh Resort) 032-909252-3 or 093-3295695 Very good dentists and modern equipment. Certainly as good as any dental office I have been in in the U.S.
  10. A suggestion or two: When coming from Chonburi towards Bangkok, once you go past the Suvab. airport area, you will see an IKEA store on the left. Exit at that ramp for Rama II, but stay left because if you don't, you will end up having to find a u-turn and end up with some extra frustrations. Also, just before the exit to Cha Am from #35, you will see road signs showing that staying right will bring you to Ratchaburi. There is one more potential confusion and that would be once you go past the Santorini Park ( ferris wheel) again stay left. If you don't you will be on the Hua Hin bypass. If you do the trip, have a safe and fun journey.
  11. Thanks, everyone. It is indeed a Xylocopa latipes species of carpenter bee. Sometimes a forum like this sure beats a Google search when you don't know anything about the topic in the first place. Thanks, too, to the contributors who provided some humor.
  12. Can anyone help me identify this huge flying insect? I've tried doing some research trying to find info on large, black, flying insects but cannot find a match. It's possible I passed by information about it because I was focusing on something with wings extended. I tried describing it to my caddie this morning and she immediately described it and told me it was dangerous. That's all I have to go on.
  13. Does someone living in Chonburi province know if the office to handle motorcycle transfers is open and processing paperwork? I live in a different province and I have some paperwork to have processed in Chonburi but don't want to mail it if the offices are closed or severely backlogged. Thanks!
  14. I viewed this video this morning and I was filled with admiration for this gentleman for his articulate and honest assessment of the current situation in Australia. https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/qantas-pilot-speaks-out/
  15. I hired a driller from Hua Hin to drill a well for our place up in Kaeng Krachan. He put in a 125 meter deep well and with the pump the price was close to 160,000 baht. However, this was 10 years ago. Best decision I made because the water, although hard, tastes great and it's never gone dry. Even with running the pump for 24 hours at a time to fill a pond. Here is his email address and phone. His name is Akarapat. Nice guy and speaks good english. [email protected] : +66 86 335 335 3 I hope he's still in business. If you do decide to purchase the land and build a house with several air conditioners, clothes dryer, water heaters, etc. you might want to consider paying for 3 phase power. We paid close to 500,000 baht to bring in 3 phase to our land. This included several power poles and of course the wires, transformers, etc.
