  1. Swedish gov will spend 1000s of dollers per day detaining ,proccessing and housing illegals and refugees but wont help a man born in sweden stranded miles away,

They do can and will. They recently paid to fly a casual acquaintance of mine home to Sweden who was stranded and locked up in IDC. It depends on the circumstances of the case. In this case he was epileptic and his sole relative was a social welfare recipient and unable to provide financial assistance for the flight.

In the case of the Swedish man in the OP there must be extenuating circumstances which prevent the Swedish government from assisting this individual. This is understandable as the man in the OP is on the street by choice.

  2. It is free for people who are ...declared mentally ill and incompetant ( then treatment is available at any hospital) , free for children, ove 70 year old do not pay and any other people who do not wish to pay and are willing to make a declaration of that.

This is incorrect. The administrator of our Ampoe's local government hospital is my neighbor and confirms there is no requirement for a declaration of mental incompetence for the fee to be waived. My family member has just returned from the hospital moments ago, the fee is waived as it is for everyone.

    Read the Nation article http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/30-baht-universal-healthcare-programme-to-start-ne-30188195.html

That article dated August 13, 2012 and is more than two years old. Where I live it has not been reintroduced or implemented. I just checked with the man who does the insurance for my Amphoe's local government hospital and he verified this a moment ago.

If you, or anyone else, can confirm that the 30 baht charge has been implemented anywhere else in Thailand I'd welcome that information gladly.

  3. Should be free anyway, the B30-charge was dropped.

O don't see why a change in her marital-status should change things, but your wife-to-be may disagree !

30 baht charge was reinstated by the Yingluck government.

Can you confirm this? As of today at the hospital, the fee was waived for one of my family members. I believe you are incorrect. It's still free.

  4. Can I just ask some related questions.

I am in the process of sorting a 1 year O-A long stay visa. Have never had one before.

Not in Thailand now I am in Sweden 3,5 month.

What do I need.to do when I get to Phuket and what do I need to bring (paperwork)the first time visiting Immigration there?

    Thankful for advice

Here's a tip: When you arrive a Thailand with your O-A visa, make absolutely sure they give you a one year stamp in your passport. Some of these officers at the arrivals desks don't realise that an O-A visa entitles you to a one year stay.

If they give you only a 3 months stamp, don't move, insist you want 12 months and it should be sorted out. Otherwise you'll have to go to immigration in Bangkok and get them to sort it out. There used to be a room there specifically for fixing problems caused at the airport.

    Good tip!

Always check your stamps. It's not such an issue at big international airports, however particularly at small land crossings I have experienced incorrectly dated stamps approximately 1 out of 10 times.

    Always check your stamps carefully.

  6. My home room teacher's classroom during my high-school years had a placard on the door which said "Excellence is of the essence". It has been my experience that the pursuit of excellence is very un-Thai as it's pursuit requires self criticism, frequent failures, confrontation, criticism of authority and the status quo, and loss of face.

Most of the fat kids I see are the product of the nouveaux rich and they are not very intelligent.

  7. There I was saying how even handed the new regime is by locking this guy up.

The new regime didn't grant him bail. Same as they didn't grant bail to free Jatuporn, Natthawut, et al.

    How'd he get bail?

The supreme court approved it. I don't see anything untoward about it at all. He's innocent until his appeals are rejected. The same goes for everyone. The fact that he had to serve two weeks in jail while arranging bail indicated the seriousness of his case.

  8. Easy enough choice between sitting behind bars for 20 years than freedom oversea. Expect him to bolt. That cheap bag of bail money is for him to flee and not reveal too much about what the inside story of the PAD and their backers. He will obviously get another bag for fleeing and not telling.

Please share what the "inside story of the PAD and their backers" is with us.

    Thanks.

I would if I could but I can't. You'll have to look it up yourself and then keep very very quiet about it.
