Hi All is it possible for a westerner to enter Thailand from Malaysia. If one had to live in Malaysia for say a month then go through the land boarder. Would they still be subject to 14 Quarantine?

If your wife is Thai, then your wife will be send to the Government Quarantine Center in Sattahip and it is free of charge. As you are the foreigner, you will need to pay for the quarantine in the Bangkok hotel in between 50,000 - 80,000 baht/per person.

Few of my friends went through it.

  2. To enter into Malaysia, you require to have the Letter of Undertaking from the Embassy of Malaysia, as well you need to apply for Malaysia Immigration Permit to enter Malaysia. The immigration permit will take you weeks to get it.

If you enter Malaysia without the immigration permit, you need to wait for 1 - 3 days inside the Terminal Airport to have permit to enter, otherwise you will need to return where you come from or deport.

Malaysia borders still not open yet. Recently, the Bukit Kayu Hitam - Sadao closed the border, but other borders remain open. It is for the trading and transportation only. You still need to fly into Thailand.

For your information, Kedah is remain the red zone area for Covid-19 since the new cluster last month.

As I've stated earlier, you need the original marriage certificate, plus a copy

Kor Sor2  from the Amphur being a confirmation that you're still married.

Bank book AND Bank letter confirming your account balance, AND copies from the bank of the last 3 months account statements.

Yes, getting neighbours to attend can be difficult,  especially if they are working or they don't like.you !!

With PT IO. There's no way of escaping the home visit. But other offices differ on this.

Kids......I think that if you have a child from this marriage then they may only require the one home visit. But childless, you get a visit every year (from PT.IO)

It is true, hard to get witnesses. I asked my Condo Juristic Person to become witness and the answer is NO. So I brought two government officers to become my witness. At the end, the IO kept silent.

What do you mean by "latest original and copy of marriage certificate". There's only one version. The one you get when you got married. Unless you divorced first, you don't need to get it again.

What is the certificate of financial status and bank statement. I thought if you show them your bank book, that's sufficient.

Why do they care about Children? I don't want some stranger getting close to my children, who are very young and shy and will scream at them!

The Thai marriage certificate stamped by the District Office is valid for 3 months only. I can't used the last year marriage certificate to apply for this year visa.

The immigration requested it for Certificate of Financial Status and Bank Statement (if the bank statement got 2 - 5 weeks gaps without the transaction).

If you got children, they will visit one time and the following year, there is no visitation. If you married without children, they will visit you every year.

I have done 5 extensions at PT office and never heard of some of your items listed.

    Eg.

Form about how you and wife know each other???

    Wife's occupation and saving details???

"Stay of Notification"?? This year for first time ever, had to write out a Tm28 in room A. Is this what you're referring to??

Also some clarification,  you need a kor sor2 from your local Amphur to verify that you are still married and not divorced.

Copies of EVERY Stamped page of your passport.

1000 baht fee for "quick" home visit agreed.

It is all in Thai and require my wife to filled up and it is two pages.

My first time extension in PT, previously in Bangkok.

Never requested to stamp every pages of the passport, only signature.

The Thai marriage certificate, the stamp valid for 3 months since the date of issued from District Office.

  6. I went to the Pathum Thani Immigration Office to do marriage visa on 12 June 2020, as Mr Mr mentioned not much Q at all.

Just got to prepare all the form and bring your wife together.

    - Fill the application form for extension visa

    - Copy of your Passport

    - Copy of your wife ID and House Registration

    - Latest original and copy of marriage certificate (get it from District Office)

    - 400,000 baht in the bank for 60 days.

    - Update bank book the day you apply the visa (copy too)

    - Certificate of Financial Status and Bank Statement from the bank

    - Form : Statement about how you know your wife and how your wife know you ... must write in Thai.

    - Form : Declaration your wife's occupation, saving detail and salary, as well yourself.

    - Form : Your overstay declaration

    - Form : Your blacklisted checking

    - Photos : Your outdoor home + inside your home (your spouse and you)

    - Photo : Marriage photo (depend on the officer want or not)

    - Do your Stay of Notification and pay 60 baht at Room A.

Photocopies two sets (one set in case requested) of all above.

Pay 1,900 baht for application + 1,000 baht (no receipt) home visitation. Then take the photo at the counter before you get back your passport.

On 13 June, the immigration officer informed my wife that they are coming on 15 June noon.

Two witnesses required. As the witnesses must bring their copy of ID + copy of House Registration. Then take a photo out your house and inside the room together with the witness.

The Immigration Officer will check once, if you have children. If you don't have children, they will come and check every year.

Get my stamp for one year visa on 10 July.

  7. I think that they will not extend the amnesty and just prepare your heart. However, Thailand and Laos border will be open soon. The both governments might come up the condition too, partly also make money from the tourists or visa runners.

If they open the border, you might need to do 14-days quarantine in the selected hotels, and vice versa. Additional, they might force the you to have Covid-19 test + health insurance (certain amount) + deposit. However, we still need to wait from both side government announcement.

If plan to go back to your home country, your own embassy can find out the best way to bring you home. Just like my country.

  8. Today, I went to the Pathum Thani Immigration and the Q is quite long. Many foreigners are applying for 60 days visa extension and require the letter from the embassy. There is no notice for amnesty for foreigners.

My visa sticker already expired since March 2020, and my visa stamp will expire on 10 May 2020. Using the marriage visa from Laos.

Thinking what to do. The immigration officer gave me a very thick form to complete it.

  9. From other news online wrote;

The contingency plan for an uncontrollable spread of the virus was approved by the Cabinet during its Tuesday’s meeting, according to the source. The plan was drafted in case the infection rate reaches as high as 1,000 cases per day and results in deaths, a scenario named by the officials as “Phase 3.”

If it is under control, why need to plan as high as 1,000 cases per day? Confused.
