I consider it a rumor. There is no way they could expect everybody to have the ID card. It requires a yellow house book to get one and most people cannot get one. Same for the work permit requirement since not everybody is working here.

Perhaps confusion since I see you have edited your post to include migrant workers who must get the ID card anyway and the requirements are not same as those for others to get one.

The funny part, the government keep changing the rules and policies, as well make it effective within the next day. There don't have a firm rules and policies. Better check with the immigration or anyone work in the government. At least we will know whether it is true or not.

  2. Does anyone heard about the new rules? Need to get confirmation from the government in regards to the 88 radio news yesterday.

The news stated that anyone who hold the Non-Immigrant Visa must have the Non-Thai ID Card or known as Pink ID Card. When they entered the immigration check-points (airports/borders), you must show your passport, Non-Thai ID Card and work permit if you have before the immigration officer will stamp your passport. The government encourage everyone to get the Non-Thai ID Card include the foreign workers (Laos/Myanmar/Cambodia). It is a new rules.

    Can anyone verify the news?

  3. Minimum Diploma in English or Education plus your non-related BA degree. There are many diploma course available in Thailand or you can do it online.

Now they are more stricter on the local Thai teachers, as it is no longer accept diploma in education, therefore many teachers decided to pursue part-time course to complete their degree otherwise the Teacher's License will not issue to them. The teachers must able to master at least 2 languages in ASEAN (English or Chinese or Malay or Khmer or etc). Anyway, it is confusing new laws.

  4. Yes, it was announced in the news last year but it is still implementing it. A foreigner who teach English in the school or institution must have a minimum degree in English or Education. No longer accept any degree non-related to Education. If you have a non-related degree, they asked the foreign teacher to further their study in the diploma in Education or English.

Furthermore, the authorities also requested your transcript must be sent by your university to them so that they will approve your visa and teacher's license.

Now there is a lot of changes in the Education bye-law and The Teacher's Council of Thailand till we also confused.

They have not been issuing multiple entry non-o visas for some time now. That has been discussed many times on this forum.

Your only choice to get one if married to a Thai to get one is Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof or Penang with 400k baht in the bank. If a parent of a Thai and not married Penang is your only choice.

I got the Non-Imm O (1 year) from the embassy in Manila and they never asked any financial proof.

  6. I went to the bank to open a new bank account using the Non-Thai ID (Pink Card) and the bank officer accepted my application without asking my passport or Yellow Tabien Baan (House Registration). The bank officer open the bank account under Thai saving basic requirements that is 1,000 baht.

The Non-Thai ID is quite useful in Thailand but we still need to apply for visa to stay in Thailand/

  7. Last year, when I applied for the Non-Immigrant Visa O (Dependent) at the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur. The consular will issue one year multiple visa and I did it for years. Last week, I was informed that the consular can issue 3 months single entry visa and no longer issue one year multiple visa. A new policy since early this year.

Do you anyone know where I can get one year multiple visa from the embassy?

  8. Quite easy to get an UK Visa even though I am a Malaysian and my wife is Thai. Just need to follow the procedures as below;

    From my side

    - A copy of my passport

    - Bank Statement and Credit Card Statement (Malaysia and Thailand)

    - Letter from registered Church

    - Pastor's Card

    - Travel insurance

    From my wife side

    - A copy of her passports

    - Bank Statement, Credit Card Statement and Hire Purchase

    - A copy of Blue House Registration

    - A copy of Marriage Certificate

    - Return air ticket (Just booking cost 200 - 500 baht for travel agency)

    - A copy of degree, letter of university and transcript (Use employment letter)

    - Travel insurance

(Try to bring your wife/gf to travel nearby countries so that it is much more easy to get it)

You will never know whether your visa approve or not, when you collect the passport after 15 days. Then you open the passport, you will be surprise then.

  9. Thanks for all your replies, they were very helpful. I was going to go the the Australian Embassy in BKK to get the stat dec, and show my super funds, although I couldn't access it I thought that they perhaps would not bother asking me that as it wouldn't show it on the statement, only that I have the money in there. I thought this may have been enough to get me by.

I don't have the funds at the moment, but will ensure that I have sufficient next time.

    Thank you!

You just need to go to the Bangkok Immigration and ask them first. Some immigration officer is friendly and some are not. So no harm to check with them first.

  10. The Immigration Bangkok will never accept any mutual or stock fund abroad, even you have a huge amount of fund. Even Australian Embassy can verified your fund, the officer will reject your application.

Unless you have a salary from abroad, you need to bring your documents (income and personal tax, must be equivalent to 40,000 baht/per month) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at your home country to verified it. Then bring your certified documents to your embassy in Bangkok to issue a letter to the Immigration Bangkok. Then you will get the Non-Imm O Visa.

Otherwise you must show your Thai bank account have 400,000 baht for 2 months (cannot use the 400,000 baht). Then you go and update your bank book and show the officer that today, you have the amount money to meet the requirement. Then you will get Non-Imm O Visa.

Immigration in Bangkok seldom if ever ask for back up proof for a income letter, stat declaration. affidavit and etc.

If you could show a bank book with fund coming into the country they will accept that for back up proof.

All the the things you mentioned would not be needed.

Yes, I agreed! Showing the proof of fund coming inside Thailand. This is what I said. However, when I was dealing with the Bangkok Immigration Officer, they told me that I need to get a letter from my embassy for the proof of income. I contacted my embassy, they told me that I need to get a clearance from my home, Ministry of Foreign Affairs first, then they will issue a letter to the Immigration Bangkok. The home Ministry of Foreign Affairs also told me that I need to bring the income or salary or employment letter from my employer + personal tax declaration, then they will certified the proof of income.

    This is the conditions.

  12. Go to savannakhet lao and get 12month multi Non O based on marriage no proof of money required this will give you some breathing space to get organized, and yes you can get a work permit on A Non O based on marriage and this is not a new rule

What do the Royal Thai Consulate need to apply Non-Immigrant O for one year? If it is more easy, then I will run there and do it.

  13. Well done and good strategic that Thai Premier did. More foreign governments are giving her full support especially US Government. Anti-protest supreme chief is losing more face and if he travel abroad, he will barred from entering the countries. He should never seize the government offices but he can stop or block the government officers from working at the outside compound. Praying for the peace negotiation and end the demonstration.
