British Woman Seeks Information on Missing Brother in Bangkok
Notify the UK coppers. Through them, access his bank account to identify locations of post-December ATM withdrawals. Pass this information on to the Thai coppers. Use it to access CCTV etc fo the area(s) identified. Locate the perp and smack his legs for being a naughty boy. Transfer Gofundme account holding to a suitable Thai charity.

New Wills Required: bilingual lawyer in Lampang or Chiang Mai?
Title says it: time to prepare new wills for me and the missus. Grateful for any recommendations. Live in Lampang, so that's the most covenient option, but can easily hop up to Chiang Mai if required. Likely cost for an uncomplicated will? TIA

Have you ever felt unsafe in Thailand
Lived in Thailand for 20 years, only one incident, in 2007. As I walked home (sober) down (ill-lit) Soi Somkit in Bangkok at about 23.30hrs, a man jumped out from behind one of the large trees on the klong side of the road. Metal rod in his hand, he aimed for my head. Some martial arts training from decades earlier was triggered. and I was able to divert his arm with the weapon and kick his legs away. Then proceeded to run the short distance home. Lucky me!

Soi 33 RIP- Parcel post to/from the US
A few weeks ago the press reported that parcel service between Thailand and the US had been suspended. (Can't recall the reasons offered - perhaps a spillover from Big Don-inspired tariffs?) Anyone here have an update? I guess if the block is still in force, I'll have to use a commercial courier firm. Parcel will contain 10-12 hard-back books: heavy stuff! Ex-pat neighbour, mid-70s, has just been diagnosed with CKD. Assessments underway to determine what stage he is at. His present concern is diet. He's looking for a detailed diet plan, but has failed to find anything on-line. I've also looked on-line, and would be grateful for any pointers. I've been using laptops pre-loaded with WINDOWS and WORD for many years without any serious problems. Main usage is writing in English 60% and in Chinese characters 40%. Same pattern of use for Google Search. I splashed out on a new lap-top a few months ago, the plan being that 'er indoors would inherit my old one. However, the new machine came pre-loaded with WINDOWS 11 HOME (not 10 as I had used previously). This configuration is incapable of operating in Chinese. Attempts to load the Chinese fonts simply produce a message 'Simplified Chinese IME dictionaries are not ready yet. Please check status from language setting' then Language Setting delivers the death blow: 'Your Windows license only supports one display language'. It seems that WINDOWS 11 PRO may perform in English and Chinese (though I haven't found any statement from WINDOWS to that effect). So.... Q1: Has anyone here encountered this problem and found a solution? Q2: Anyone here using WINDOWS 11 PRO for Chinese language work? Q2: Any recommendations for a lap-top pre-loaded with WINDOWS 11 PRO? (I've waded through very many sites for new models, but so far all carry only WINDOWS HOME.
