  1. Nobody else it telling them! Basically I think it is better to talk first instead of reporting immediately to the authorities and I haven't been aware that the responsibility is at the Tessaban or puu yai bann, but now I know, thanks. Our problem is that they light the fire every day at dusk, this is the time when it starts to cool down and it would be nice to enjoy the dinner outside, but due to the toxic smell it is just impossible. cheers
  2. as all expats know the air quality in CNX is many times poor and unfortunately the days with good air and low PM 2.5 reading are getting less year by year. I am just wondering how is the legal side of burning the garbage day by day. It is kind a understandable that people burn their leaves and branches in their back yards, it is smoking and rising the PM 2.5 but somehow it is the nature cycle and the old generation is used to it. I can somehow go with that, but we have in the near neighborhood a house they seen to work for construction and they burn on a regular basis polystyrene, plastic, tires, saw them once to poor color into fire etc., no need to mention how it smokes and even worse how it smells, real toxic from time to time. several times I did drive there and tried to explain them, but as it is sometimes, the guy who is running it, is resistant and doing it again and again. Missus has troubles with doing something against it since it is not nice. Any suggestions what to do, how to respond, what can I do as a foreigner without making it worse?? Perhaps we are not the only once facing this problem and others can get ideas as well. Again we not complain about the bbq smoke, wood fire or smoking green leaves which don't burn at all.
  3. we do run our pool since 3 years with a purapool Oxygen UV+, now it seems the cell doesn't work anymore. Anybody has experience with this system? is it normal that the cell is broken after just 3 years, further the pool company tells us that the system is not available anymore. any idea?
  4. here the update as mentioned in my last post at 9:15 we did arrive at the Chiang Mai immigration today, I got queue number 3098 and they have been processing 3041, it was very busy, but we understood that most have been for Covid-extension. After my wife told an immigration officer that we intend to do 60-days extension we have been directed to a different counter, paper we had: - Passport copy, page with arrival stamp copy and TM30 copy - application form for extension of stay with picture - marriage certificate copy - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PERMIT OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND (STM.2) - THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PENALTIES FOR A VISA OVERSTAY with application the officer informed me that I could make a 30 day extension first and then a 60 day extension, but if I make today the 60 day extension I cannot extend again for 30 days. After I told her that my flight will out of Thailand will be mid of October she asked me to write the intended travel day on the application form, after that they processed the 60 day extension. I had to pay 1900 THB, all in all it has been quite fast, in and out within 30 minutes. cheers, charly
  5. @DrJack54 again thanks a lot, just red through the thread and all is clear. I shall pay the immigration a visit soon and update here how it was. let me say again thanks to all of you with your experiences and the open communication and support to guys like me. cheers, charly
  6. @DrJack54, again thanks for your quick answer, much appreciated. I assume if I bring my passport, some pictures, perhaps my yellow house book and marriage certificate along with the visa fee shall be enough to get the visa done, am I correct? Or do I need my wife come along as it is needed for the non-O marriage ? As per your suggestion, I shall go soon and not wait until the last day, still have almost 20 days left.
  7. Thanks DrJack54, do I understand you correct? I can get before my 30 days on arrival expire let’s say 28 days after arrival a 60 days extension for 1900 THB which will give me overall 88 days and then I can do it all over again after I left the country for 3 weeks?
  8. during my last overseas trip my non-O based on marriage expired in April, now in August I came back, here since 10 days only on the 30days stamp. the current stay will be until mid October then go for 2 weeks overseas and come back until end of December. What would be my best options in terms of Visa, permission to stay? is there a 6 month multiple Visa I can apply for or something similar ?
  9. any updated information regarding checkpoints, I need to go from Chiang Mai to BKK, check there some Hardware and return back to Chiang Mai, in best case scenario a round trip within one day, because I am not keen to stay in BKK for a night. An option is to perhaps take a small Hotel from Nakon Sawan down to Bkk for a night, than in the morning into BKK and hit the road at noon to return to Chaing Mai.
  10. @ Bagwain, the details of the filter are in my post from 26th July, that all what is stated on the filter type plate, here again: it is a 900mm dia filter with 19-30 qbm/hr flow rate, surface area 0.636 sqm, 75% efficiency, sand weight 350kg, pressure 2.5 kg/sqcm perhaps you can let me know the price for the glass material you suggest and I may can check with a Chemist about this calcium silicate, maybe he has an idea.
  11. @Bagwain, I am south of Chiang Mai, but come from time to time to Pattaya I could pick it up since I visit friends from time to time on Soi Siam Country @ZeusMVP, thanks for the math, this I still can manage on my own, but why and where is the calcium chloride crystalizing and lying on the pool floor and not in dissolved state in the water? That bothers me, any idea about that?
  12. all options on the table I guess, thanks a lot for the fast feedback, I assumed something like @ubonjoe wrote, it is just good to get a confirmation Again thanks to all of you, very much appreciated. wish all a nice and good remaining day
  13. I hold since more then 13 years a Thai-wife non-O visa which was extended every year in Thailand, once I applied for a 1 month extension because of traveling issues, have been abroad during the required date to extend. the new situation is as following, we (the entire family) shall leave Thailand in December 2021 or early January 2022, my non-O Thai-wife visa expires in April 2022, but we will not return to Thailand before July / August. I know through my earlier experience that the immigration would not start the visa extension before 30 days of expiration, even considering coming to Thailand for extend at the correct time it will be almost impossible since we both (me and wife) need to show up for application and then is the 30days period until the "hearing result", which is more then 1 month. We still have time until then, but I would like to check the options we have and hope to get here some reliable information as I did in the past.
  14. well how much will it set me back I change the filter media to the from you recommended recycled plate glass? it is a 900mm dia filter with 19-30 qbm/hr flow rate, surface area 0.636 sqm, 75% efficiency, sand weight 350kg, pressure 2.5 kg/sqcm
  15. I did add the last days just 250g a day, but I still have the flakes at / or below the water outlets, the PH I lowered to 7.3. Filter media is glass bottle glass, at least it looks like that, but in the filter we cannot find many white flakes like they look in the pool. The flakes get cleaned out by the robot.
