The official guide lines are 14 weeks as I have read, also when I rang this was also the case as the lady at the immigration centre told me the same thing
e.g. That until 14 weeks from the point of receiving the FLR (M) you can not get a update unless you have a emergency and have to leave the country the passports they then would be returned and the application cancelled.
I don’t know number you would of rung mariner29. If there is a different number that you know I would be grateful to have it, though I am sorry to say I think you are incorrect in what you are saying
-
Try ringing them or a fax they are really helpful.
You are being sarcastic aren’t you?
-
Thank you very much Charlie
I Don’t know why that crossed my mind I was just wondering though, when I rang to find out if there was any way of getting an update hardly unsurprisingly they said no not until the 14 weeks is up.
You will have to let us know when yours come through as it will be interesting to see who’s comes first.
Just a little annoying as I think I am going to have to re-rebook the Thai embassy and also as the child tax credits people sent through a letter for national insurance I will have to re-book that
Well worth the £400 admin costs !!!!

My wife back in June had three phone interviews and they then told her she would have to have one face to face, she never had the face to face as they then rang her and said come and collect your visa there is no logic at all matey.

Ok if some one can answer this it would be really good
My wife came to the UK at the end of June on a Six month fiancée visa, we were married in August and at the end of September sent off for the next two year FLR (M).
My question is this, as we have not yet received back her application and passport what happens in December if her application has not returned, does she have to leave the country because her original six month Fiancée visa will have expired?
I also have booked interviews with the job centre and with the Thai embassy to get our baby a passport in December and I could do with her and my passport back as well.
Any ideas Thanks Bread

Hello matey hope things are good,
As far as I know she still (intill she has uk passport) will need to get the visas for each place, dont think it makes any diffrence as she is only on a uk FLR ( M)

oh ok sent today sent recorded delivery and put my wifes surname as name (lol) we will have to see whos comes back first !
-
I got an apointment in november seems easy enough to do it here matey, they do it then and there also im thinking it allways seems easyer ( well a little bit) to do things like this in the uk
-
I woud not worry mate we all get those pre-post s++t I forgot something,
Charlie did you send reg.dellivery ? and did you put your surname or your wifes parents name
-
oh also are you putting her name in the docs or as you are now married your name ?
e.g on On Section 1.3 it asks for full name as in passport (this i understand) but 1.4 then askes for family name is this her surname or mine?
-
On wednesday mate, Is yours for the first 2 year part or the 2+2 ?
Are you sending by recorded dellivery ? and if so are you adding a way of them sending it back to you.
Have you noticed any thing else that needed doing that I missed.
-
I have done most of that and been told by the child tax credit people they do not know if the letter has been sent (sounds stupid but this is what they have told me 3 times) and they can not find out so to wait(I said for who long and they dont know)
I have also spoken to the job center and they said they can not book a interview for a NI number with out first getting the letter from the child tax people
And a round and around and around I go ........................

Charlie i think he is wrong in what he is saying as the from states that this is needed, again marrige cert. 3 months bank statments and passports and photos for both you and your wife.
You do not need all the bills in both names spaning 2 years if you are using FLR (M) for the first time (as you would not have these).
If you are using FLR (M) for a further 2 years eg. your wife has not passed her lfe in the uk test, then you need all the docs proving that you have been living together.

PS charlie i seem to remember you did some thing with an IVA not to long ago if this is so could you PM me as i am in the same boat and some advice wold be helpfull. (if this was not you dont worry)
-
We also were going to get this letter and a call but it has not happened though from what you say charlie it seems that it did not matter with regards to your wife not being allowed to work.
I guess maybe i should just try and book her a new interview and see when we get there ?
-
thanks for the reply
though On that basis i myself (without her having a national insurance number) can not claim child tax credits, which is not correct.
guess a letter to the child tax credits may be in order.
-
Ok I have given my aplication for child tax credits they need both my and my wifes details and this is fine BUT they also need her national insurance number which as she is only 3 months in to her fiancee 6 month visa she does not have yet.
The Child tax credit office is ment to send a letter to the Job center in order to get her an apointment in order to give her a national insurance number. They have not done this and I have now been waiting for 5 weeks. I have written and phoned so many times and all departments from both places blame it on each other and I am getting no where.
I also have been given an appointment for a work national insurance number but have been advised not to go for this appointment as she is not allowed to work and I am told that the national insurance number so I can claim Child tax credits is not the same.???
I seem to remember some one else having to deal with this and was wondering how they got to the end of this.

Ok couple of quick questions with the visa aplication, my now wife came on a 6 month fiance visa 3 months ago we are now married and I now want to apply for the next 2 year visa which i now have the fourms FLR(M)
1. Does the form need to be printed in colour or is balck and white ok?
2. As I have to send passports and wage slips e.t.c I am guessing that sending recorded delivery is a good idea, Does all my doc's get sent back and should I put some self address prepaid recorded delivery so that these all do come back.
3. On payment details it askes for the aplicants full name is this my wife's first name and her family surname or my surname?
4. On Section 1.3 it asks for full name as in passport ( this i understand) but 1.4 then askes for family name is this her surname or mine?
5.It asks for her and my passports, photos, 3 months wage slips, marige certificate. do i need any thing else eg. proof of address e.t.c is there any thing else that any ones recomends.?

Ok tommorow i have to go and reg. my baby, the baby will most likly take my surname on her brithish birth certificate.
on the 5th on november i have an apointment to go to the Thai embassy in London and to get the baby a Thai birth certificate and passport they inform me that the baby will on the Thai birth certificate and passport take the same names as on the english one.
I am wondering if this in any way will be detramental as I am aware it is difficult for Thai non nationals to buy property e.t.c
What I think I am getting at is it better to register the baby tommorow with my wifes family name (we are married if this makes a diffrence) and then use that english bith certificate to reg the baby at the thai embassy( so the baby has my wifes surname and not mine), and then change the baby surname to mine on her english birth certificate once this is done.
is this as clear as mud
