  1. I guess that's the point if they want to they can charge more, and there is is no dout in my mind come two years ill be here moaning about the cost of the permanent residency then being closer to £1500!!!!

    Am I right in thinking then that it would be a good idea to get all the bills put in joint names ASAP as soon as you are granted the FLR ????? as then two years down the line it should be simpler to apply.

  2. OK I'm just trying to get some more information straight in my head;

    • after a successful fiancée visa application you then have six months to marry which by or before your six months are up you then have to apply for a 2 year FLR?
    • then during those two years you then have to collect at least 20 pieces of information spanning the two years eg. bank statements council tax etc ? then you apply for the ILR
    • Do you have to wait until the end of the 2 years to then apply for ILR ? or can you do it when ever you want ?
    • If you then get ILR at what point can you then apply for a UK passport ?

  3. Just in case any one else needs to know at some point as we were previously discussing the flying limits while pregnant

    This is the response I got from Thia Air,

    "For flying time more than 4 hours,the pregnant woman is permitted to fly up to the end of 34th week. After the 28th week of pregnancy must carry a medical certificate stating expected date of delivery and confirming pregnancy is normal. Certificate must be dated within 7 days before first flight."

    Which for what I wanted is good as It should allow me a little more time to get some more money in the bank first !!!

  4. yes at the moment I have also returned to the UK and because of wanting some quick cash have decided that a couple months restaurant work was the answer;

    just to make the point now I am the only English person there the chefs and the rest of the waiting staff are all polish the delivery drivers are polish and as a quick example of this the weekly drinks delivery came in on Monday and it was wrong, I was the only person there and I can,t tell the delivery driver what the problem it so I go to the chefs who also cant speak English, so I have to ring the manager at home in order to get him to explain in polish what the problem is to the chef to in turn tell the delivery driver> I just think as appose to making it so god dam hard for me to bring my English speaking GF here and make her once here proform a "life in the uk test" some one may want to ask a few of the other EU immigrants to learn English first !!!

  5. thanks as always guys, it really is proving invaluable having found this site and the information provided my the members !!!!

    the only reason i was going for a certified copy was because it says you should in the list of items they ask for from the British/Thia visa web site.

    two more questions > after i have obtained a fiancée visa for my partner and in turn we are married before six months i believe i have to then reapply for the next part, the following two year visa,

    1> is this a further £500?

    2> do I have to provide all the same information again(i am guessing so)?

    Scouse> I am starting to think it may be a good idea to get the application pack that I put together checked over before sending? would this be a service you provide? if so could you PM with an idea regarding cost's thanks in advance.

  6. right guys firstly a big thanks to every one that has helped on previous posts and I'm just trying to drum down a couple of last pointers in my own head in order to (i hope) submit the correct paper work for a UK fiancée visa

    The situation as it stands is I have decided to continue to work for slightly longer, another 2 months and stay at my mothers house as it allows me to save more money, and I felt that the previous lack of bank statements was going to be detrimental and also I wanted to have some money in the bank for when my GF arrives and to pay for weddings e.t.c, also i will being applying and starting a new job in the next 2 months and returning to my actual profession.

    The questions I have i now are :

    1>will the immediate start of a new tenancy house contract and a new job contract be detrimental ?

    2>will 3 months bank statements be amble proof (from reading some other post's think i am now correct in thinking that this is not actually a requirement but a way of establishing your financial security) so i am presuming that with a covering letter explain this it should be OK ?

    3>I now have four years worth of wage slips as well and I am thinking that by submitting those i can show evidence of prior earnings (as i have none for 2007 as i was traveling) any idears ?

    4>also how do I go about getting a Certified passpot copy done for my self ?

  7. From living in the UK any form of domestic violence is now treated very seriously in the eye's of the law and now a days the police do not turn a blind eye to any domestic dispute with as far as I know the law favoring the side of the women (political pressure and general moral values on the subject)

    The answer is I think to go to the police the start devoice proceedings on those grounds, Also surely the women must have a bank account or some sort of money tucked away also i guess if you really care about her well being and she wants to go home you can lend her the money the trip one way to Thailand is only about £300 and she would get that back from a devoice settlement.

  8. "MaizefarmerPosted 2008-03-04 15:49:20 Good question ........ its the same for ex-pats nowadays who are getting permanent residence in Thailand - you have to supply the Thai authorties with photos of the house/apartment and the rooms inside.

    Can just get my head around the idea of a photo of the building or hosue - but all the rooms??? - anyone know what the reasoning is behind this?? - you could take photos of anyones interior for that matter."

    surely on the same reckoning though not only photos all the documents you supply could be false its not complicated for any one now a days to get hold of extra documents surely they must check ?

  9. Thanks again,

    I guess it kind of comes down to the individual assessor to make up there own minds and interpret the guide lines as they will so I guess I will have to crack on and just see, as I think I am starting to find out the visa process in all its forms is a up hill struggle,

    Thanks bread

  10. thanks again scouse you speedy response as always is appreciated !

    You say that;

    "such applications are governed by the Immigration Rules and nowhere does it prescribe that you have to have had a bank account for at least six months, and nowhere does it prescribe a set time for which the sponsor should have been in employment. It is simply a question of whether, on the date of application, the requirements of the Rules are met."

    sorry to be a bit silly on this one but how would you find out then what these predefined rules were to insure that you were meeting the relevant criteria ?

    I will have at the point of application about 3500 or just over in my account with i think 2 statements. I guess I just don't want to apply then fail as the application is expensive the other thing is as my partner is pregnant surly this must go in my favor as in some way if my partner was denied entry in turn my child is and that must be effecting my rights some were along the line?

    sorry one other thing again, do you get you original documents back?

  11. I am in a similar position with the lack of Bank statements for a fiancée visa for my partner for me as well it would be great if someone could clarify the importance of these statements, I do have the last five years wage slips prior to January 2007 which show average yearly earnings of about 30-35k but after taking 9 months off work and traveling I now don't have the same account and only have one bank statement so far, is a covering letter going to be good enough to explain this ????

  12. thanks guys, I don't know if any one new do the visa center give you back your documents when the applicant goes to collect there passport ?

    Also one other thing I now have the last five years wages slips ending in January 2007 when I then went traveling I don't have the same bank account now and due to a split with my ex and her running my account into an over draft, I only have one bank statement with this new account, what I am getting at is that with the lack of bank statements will a supporting letter from my new employer with the previous five years wage slips and a letter from my self explaining all of this going to be good enough ???

  13. sorry guys scrub that last one just gone through some more stuff in hope that the ex had not chucked them and she hadn't after all which is a result.

    Though I do have another two questions now;

    Do the Thia visa place give you your documents back again ? as I think I will send originals unless advised not to.

    Does any one know a good way of getting documents to Thailand ? I have quite a lot now with all my details on so i want to make sure it gets there !!!!

  14. I don't know if any one will know the answer to this,

    As I have stated in previous posts I feel I don't have enough financial proof at this time to support my partners application, though with some time constraints (baby on the way) I want to speed things up, what I want is to get my end of the year tax forms (i think they are p60) as proof of the last five years earning's as this will I think support my application,does any one know how you go about re-getting these as unfortunately after a split from my ex 18 months ago she threw a lot of my stuff away.

    Thanks

  15. hey just pulled this of the visa web site;

    "The British Embassy Bangkok normally takes 3-5 working days to consider applications. In addition, should the Embassy require an applicant to attend an interview, the UK Visa Application centre will contact the applicant and inform the date and time of the interview accordingly."

    Though i am sure i read some were it can take up to 12 weeks to proses ?

    I think on that basis i will wait at least a couple of months until i have all the evidence and hopefully it will go through quick ????

  16. I have now told her with relation what to expect with the interview, and told her not to lie about any of it.

    I guess now its just making the decision of whether to wait a little longer or go for it, its a shame that you can not ask the question more directly to some one at the visa centre as it would save the worrying and the mucking around !!
