I predicted he would be out of prison and at home on a house arrest before the end of the month. Dayam, he's even quicker than I imagined, If you don't think this was all planned well in advance of him coming back, I have a super yielding rice farm for sale in Issan.

His strategy all along... he'll never serve time in prison, he'll be accommodated as a sick patient.
Funny how he fell ill hours after returning to Thailand.
Exactly. This was planned well in advance, and I heard somewhere, that he owns this hospital. Anyone?

i'm wondering if the monk was dipping into the donation box .... i'm sure that's prevalent at many temples.
Buddhism ... such and honest religion
You would have to be the abbot to get in the donation box, plus, I don't know of any temples who would have any large amount of money in their donation boxes. It's normally emptied every evening by a trusted parishioner.

And the useless, homeless, unskilled who go into it because they get a place to live, free food and other gifts, and they shoot up the respect ladder.

Most all monks wear those neon orange robes, as seen in this picture. No way in hell he could have thought this guy was a thief. Something else going on.

How did he get that much money?
Exactly. Most monks I know have maybe a 100 baht or so on their person, and even the abbot of a temple I know doesn't have more than 30,000 or so in the Temple bank account.

I would love to see Thaksin arrive in his private jet at another of the International airports near his private residence and take a fast convoy home. Would be a very entertaining scenario that would take a long time for the officials to resolve.
Kind of like the OJ Simpson chase scene, ha ha ha ha

Seriously? For overstaying!! You need to get a reality check Thai authorities, and concentrate your efforts on real criminals.
Exactly..

For a 78 year old Thai monk to have 800,000 baht in his pocket, seems to me to be a little suspicious.

what education does Paetongtarn have ?
what qualifies either of them for the PM job ?
perhaps not a requirement on paper but it certainly helps when in charge of a country
I think they are both rich... the only qualification their party requires.

Why bring Trump into it? What happened in America makes the Thai election look squeaky clean. If your going to talk about the farcical storming of the white House without watching all of the un edited tapes, with the now known fbi/cia operatives agitating the crowd then the states that cheated the count and now been found as so. So please keep your biased hatred to yourself. Note: I never liked Trump but after everything he said turned out true you would need to be a moron to believe anything they say against him now. A man who loves his country something Thailand desperately needs as does my own country.
Thank you. ????

A retirement home is not a house that you buy, it is a structure where you pay some form of rent to have a room for yourself, meals, medical assistance and socializing with similar folks.
And here in Texas where I live, that can cost you anywhere from $2500 to $4000 a month.

I really don't remember reading about Buddha doing this stuff.

Take it to a busy temple, ask the abbot there.. there's always a monk at these temples who is a sort of expert on amulets.

Thai politics. No one understands it, not even Thai's. They make up the rules as they go along.
