  1. The thing is, your not allowed to refrain from excepting anything from the people who donate to you, but that doesn't mean you have to eat it.
  2. Refrain from harming living beings (eating meat) is your interpretation. There is no where in the precepts that disallow eating meat.
  3. I agree with this also.. I once lived at a big Wat in Lum Luk Kha, we swept that place every day from one end to the other. Took a couple of hours. Good exercise.
  4. I agree with everyone on here, mostly. Monks should probably be getting some exercise. Just don't post the dang pictures on the internet.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. But just to be clear, I don't stop and talk to the "lady's" along Beach Road either.
  6. I'm sure it had nothing to do with her husband or sons wishes.
  7. Exactly.. Someone had their head up their ass. Get off you iPhones and pay attention. How damn hard is it to walk through and check to see if all have got off?
  8. How many on here were in the Military and had to drop and give 50 pushups every time you <deleted> off your 1st Sgt. What a croc of poop.

  10. The Constitutional Court will decide, that Prayut didn't officially take office until 2017, so 8 years from then will be 2025.. Bingo.
  11. There are... but you won't see them in the news. Wat Pah Nanachat in Udon Thani is a good example.
  12. We had this old drunk monk come to our temple one day, riding on a motorcycle. Looking for a few baht. We told him we would feed him but not give him any money.. He said, no thanks, wasn't hungry. He drove off and rode right into a tree. ha ha ha
  13. In 9 months, as a monk, I must have been donated maybe 1200 baht. 3.6M, no way to just be donations.
  14. You must have hung around a whole different temple than me.. I never seen any money when I was a monk. I must have been staying in the wrong temple.
  15. I met quite a few monks when I was a monk who could become "lady-boys" in a heartbeat. They had all the mannerism's down pat. Usually, but not always, the abbots of the temples are really cautious about ordaining these types of men/boys.
  16. I hate to break it to you, but if the buy wasn't by credit, whether it be by check, cash or a direct deposit from the bank, it's cash.
  17. 54 is elderly, what in the world do they think about us 70 year olds. Wow..
  18. I agree.. Khao San Rd was never my favorite place, but if they can do it there, then they can open Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza and get back to basics. Having fun on your vacation. Kudo's to this guy.
  19. It was a joke. Just watching re-runs of The Soprano's..
  20. Any name ending in a vowel.. ????
  21. "Hadi Matar" Yep, very common New Jersey name..
  22. I used to live not far from the munition dump in Lopburi. I remember one very hot night, the police came around and had everyone vacate their homes and gather at a temple in Khok Sam Rong, down the road in case of the munitions going off in the heat. Exciting night.
