I am having a Honda city CNG and I pay in average 130 THB per filling. My average mileage for this tank is 200 km. I can get up to 230 if I drive long distance.
do CNG tanks have only a range of 200km??

Pu Jareun Kanchang (name of the car seat repair shop) near Central airport plaza.
thanks cmbe for your reply.
hace you ever used them? if yes, did they do a good job?
-
That is obviously 2.66 baht per km. My LPG truck get about 1.8-2.0 baht per km. Even at 1.5 baht / km you would save 3000 per month.
You'll have to figure out how much you would get for your used Fortuner and how much you would pay for a replacement ecocar etc.
There is no free ride!
A little bit less right foot would probably be enough?
you are right. the problem is: I'm always late!
thanks for your replies to everybody!

There is a hybrid Civic for little over 1mln and City with CNG for much less, but you need to have access to a CNG filling station...
Hi, thanks for your reply
I read that it takes 5 to 8 years to start saving money on Hybrids, considering the premium you pay at purchase.
Looks like you pay 1 mill for the 1.5 engine hybrid
when you can have the same car 1.8 engine for 800,000 which runs, if I am correct, on E20

Hi,
at present I have a toyota fortuner 3.0 diesel auto 4*4, I drive about 100km per day so i spend about 8000 per month on fuel
I am wondering how would I save on fuel costs If i sell it and buy a CNG car or hybrid car?
Also, what car should I buy to optimize?
bear in mind that I have 3 kids so cannot to for brio-sized cars and I want automatic
so I was thinking abour Civic , Altis, not want to spend more that 900.000-1.000.000b
any suggestions apreciated

I wet today for my visa extension at early morning, all the papers in order same as last year, letter from bank and bankbook updated yesterday,
the lady at Imm said everything okay but we need you to:
- go to the bank
- deposit (don't withdraw) any amount, ie 100 baht
- update book
- make 2 copies
and come back
thats what i did and everything went smoothly.
apparently it's a new directive from bangkok, i guess it will apply to any visa extension that requires bank book
So everyone that goes with a bank book has to the leg it to the nearest updating machine afterwards.
Access into Airport Plaza isn't until 11 am........ridiculous!
What's the point of making an early appointment?........double bloody ridiculous!
exactly.. the first option is to go to the nearest atm/update machine before the appointment.
alternatively, I would go the night before, just after midnight, make a transfer from another account to mine, and update the book. the problem is there arent many update machines around that are accessible after midnight.
in my case, I had read the earlier posts on this subject, and came with the motorbike so I was able to go the the bank (next to Tesco) and be back in about 15 minutes. my wife was still at the desk with the Imm officer. and the bank clerk made 2 copies for me of the updated book which saved me queuing at the xerox at immigration.
the reason for this new rule is that many people have emptied their accounts just after getting the letter for the bank (for what reason i dont know, maybe they had borrowed the money) so they want to avoid this.. but it doesnt really solve the problem as people might still empy it just after having submitted the papers. other measures would have probably been more effective.
anyways theres not much use in complaining as it would be as hitting a wall. so just comply and thats it..
its actually not so hard to organise and probably less inconvenient than other solutions which i prefer to keep for myself.
as they say, dont crap on your doorstep
IMO only.....do it the day before, but it's Up2U.
totally agree with you as you say 'its ridiculous'
but they wanted it done.
it would be interesting to have feedback from more people to see if they want this from everyone.

I am not American so i my childhood I have neved celebrated Halloween and until yesterday night I thought that it was a boring
unnecessary festivity.
But I changed my mind as I followed my small children and their friends knocking on people's door for candy in a Moobaan.
The kids had so much fun dressing up and went totally crazy each time they got some candy.
It really takes so little effort from us adults to make their day and seeing their smile everytime is priceless.
I was also surprised to see that many Thai people had prepared for it and were enjoying giving away candy as much as the kids were enjoyig getting it.
You could see that many senior farangs were also waiting for this moment, maybe because their own kids are already grown and out of the house or maybe to break the routine of spending a night at home in front of the TV..
We need more moment like this for the kids to have fun, away fromtheir PC or the Mall.
All in all, a big thanks to all of those who made some kid's day yesterday !!! I think you had fun too!!!
I kow I did

I renewed mine again today, 1 month early again. Every time I've renewed it, I do it a month early. I did mine in Bangkok, and I'm sure the same applies country wide.
hi, was yours a retirement extension ?

UmpaLumpa say: by mistake i booked at immigration for march insead of april and the cue system is fully booked for april.
I moved new to Bangkok, is there any "cue system" and where I can find the link to fix / book a meeting? I was used from Parachuap Khiri Khan just walk in ... Thanks a lot for advice ...
For Bangkok there isn't a "cue system" that I know of. To begin, you need to go to your bank in the basement to get your bank letter and update your bank book(s) for the day you are applying. Then get your bank book(s) copied then proceed up to the cue desk with your application to get your number.
the online cue booking is on the Chiang Mai Immigration website, dont know if other cities have it too but havent heard of any

Sounds like a ball joint or an arm (although sounds like you've had the alignment checked which SHOULD have discovered that).
Is it a tight/sharp vibration or does it shake loosely - possibly even noisily?
it's like driving on bumps , with some noise like takatakataka
Now you are making sense, Takarakataka means you are low on break-fluid or your (direct-wheel) brake blocks have been abused(possibly while driving down the mountain)...
Replace them and report back.
hi Dancealot, i think you nailed it. it all started after I have been on a mountain, with a strong slope on the way down. although the break fluid box seems full, I will have the brake blocks checked. I will report back!

its 4 yrs old and 67000km

had a noise in the past, especially when we hit bumps, finally they discovered it was a rubber from the hood that was badly positioned..
-
just to let you kmow , i understnd nothing about engines.
is it serious? ie how much should i expect to pay to fix the problem if i bring to toyota?
-
hi,
i drive a fortuner 4*4 automatic,
lately when i am at medium-high speet and push on the brakes, the car starts shaking-vibrating, i can see the steering wheel shaking too..
