That is the border crossing more commonly referred to as Ban Pakard (the tiny hamlet on the Thai side of the border). The nearest large town on the Cambodian side is Pailin.

There may be some good news. According to this source, the hours of operation at Ban Pakard (they call it Ban Pak Kard) were extended, and the border is open until 10:00 pm: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/thai-cambodian-border-opening-hours-extended/. I would not treat this as definite. When I was last there, it was not busy late in the day, and extended hours at this crossing strikes me as quite surprising.

But it would be at least 8pm right? And I can go in and out the same day right then and there?

I don't want to spend a night in Cambodia...

Which border crossing will you use?

At most border crossings with Cambodia, the border closes at 8:00 pm (except for things like medical emergencies from Cambodia to Thailand). If you arrived at the border at 7:00 pm, you could probably make it, but I think 7:30 pm would be too late to get in and out. Possibly, with some greasing of palms, you might be rushed through, but it would be dubious at best.

As already written by someone else, knowing which border crossing you plan to use might help us provide better advice.

  4. I'm due for a border run in a few days, haven't done one in a while.

    Leaving from Pattaya.

Any recommendations for good companies that aren't too expensive with good mini buses?

Additionally, is it feasible to do it by bus or train? I could sleep in Cambodia for a night, it's in 48 hours and maybe they are all booked up?

    Cheers!

  5. Depends how you want it, shredded? In sheets? A lot of different kinds of seaweed exists..

Salty one no sure as a dry snack no sugar and pretty good you can get at 7/11 and anywhere.

For cooking no sugar can also be had pretty much everywhere

I hate how Thais put sugar in everything!

  6. Ok, excellent

    Another unrelated question...

Some lawyers say they can get me a one year visa, no need to go out of the country, but it's a "greasing palm" visa I guess...

If I had that, and for some reason when trying to leave Thailand they said "your visa was not valid" ..is there jail time possible?

With these lawyers and "greasing palm" visas, what happens if they catch it or it goes wrong?

Do you go to jail, is it criminal? Or they simply cancel the visa? Deport you?

What stories have you heard about this in your long experience in Thailand Ubonjoe?

    Thanks

  7. What happens if you have a work permit and non B visa and you go to Laos and the documents are wrong...

I won't have time to stay there, can I simply get a tourist visa, come back to Thailand, get the proper Non B documents and go back?

Or can I simply keep my work permit and be on Tourist visa simultaneously?

As I mentioned earlier, I already have a work permit that is good till summer 2018

  8. I hear a lot of incredulous comments doubting the truth about his work not being related to Thailand, but I assure you , it is NOT related to Thailand.

I can't give any details because he wants to remain anonymous.

But let's say it would be analogous to running a contruction business in North America, delegating tasks to staff, doing business paper work, taxes, renting equipment, calling customers and vendors ect...

    NOTHING to do with Thailand.

  9. Is it ok to sit in a coffee shop or bar with a laptop?

Can the army or police suddenly seize your laptop or do a search of your hard disk without a warrant?

I'm asking because I have a friend that is overly paranoid, he sells stuff on ecommerce sites from West to West, nothing to do about Thailand. He also has a business in the USA that he controls from over here, again, nothing to do with Thailand.

Some bar owners claim that they are in danger and don't want him to bring the laptop....

    Is he over reacting?

  10. What is the cheapest way to ship by cubic meter from Thailand to USA or Europe?

    Drive to the port?

I have a funny feeling that "cargo" companies in Thailand might charge me double as a "tourist" price...

I've heard from $200-$300, but just checked at a shop, and they wanted 15 000 baht + 6000 baht for fumigation and 20% customs for a total price of 21 000 baht, so about double of what I have read on this forum ...wink.png

Any advice appreciated, I went to Laemb Cha Bang port today but they were closed...

Also, I forgot to specify, these will be jars of Kosher dill pickles, properly packed in boxes and crated.

  11. I want to sell my products to major supermarkets, but I need FDA approval.

Problem is I can't get any clear information as to what kind of building to get...

I went to the FDA office in Chonburi AND Banglamung but they beat around the bush, no straight answer...

It's for a small company, under 5 horsepower and less than 7 staff.

Any idea where I can get the information as what kind of building I need? Shop house, house, ect...

Any idea on how I can get guidance on this?

All they say is get a place and they will come and inspect...I can't keep getting places at 60 000 baht a pop (deposit, key money ect...) until they accept the premises...
I need specifications in order to find a suitable location FIRST!
  12. I got a non b visa 3 months ago and after that a work permit.

But I haven't had enough time to find a factory for the business, hire 4 Thais staff ect...

I was told I could get a one year business visa, but only if I had 4 Thai staff and office set, witch I don't have yet.

So can I simply go back to Laos and get another non immigrant B and come back to Thailand with intact work permit?

Can I do these non B visa runs as long as it takes to establish the company properly?
