When the foreigner has a proper visa that really shouldn't be a problem with the exception being if someone has a U.S. passport.

Depends what visa he's on right now I would open the account asap as you say but don't just ask around. If you find a branch that will open your account - open it on the spot. You can always close it again or let it go dormant but once you have it set up you're safe.

Being American is not a problem and it wasn't for me. Banks don't have to report unless the account is $50,000 or over. I just filed out a W-7 which the Bangkok Bank branch provided.

Because bank letter is just a snapshot of latest balance; and if passbook is not updated regularly, a passbook entry may be an amalgamation of several actions, one or more of which may be a dip below the required 800/400 baht balance. Thus, the required printout of all past 12 month activity, precluding any amalgamation of data.

Simple show up with an updated bankbook. How hard is it to go to a passbook machine once a month and update. I do and it takes about a minute to do it.

  3. Major fraud  last time people taking advantage of loopholes. Next time around it will be tighten up who gets it if any is given. Large number of republican voters don't like the spending and are complaining to congress. Most likely it will be a skinny bill helping small business and extending unemployment benefits. Or nothing at all because Dems want everything that has nothing to do with covid 19in their version.

If your IM database record entry of your visa information is not exactly the same as you input of your 90 day report form on the Web Service (give up on the App, useless in most cases as T's on a B) you will never successfully complete the online 90 day report.

So next time you go in person smile and ask your friendly IO officer nicely if you could have a print out of your information of your 90 day report so you can do it online successfully in the future.

If they as why? say you have tried to do it online previously but it seems to fail due to incorrect information.

There are other factors for the service not functioning correctly but they are typical technical or operational.

Remember for best results wiat util inside 7 days to the due date of renewal before attempting online 90 day reporting.

That isn't the problem, I already stated the problem as my IO does not ACCEPT ON-;INE OR MAIL IN 90 DAY REPORTS.

Have they confirmed unbelievable stamps are from Thailand?  Have not had any issues getting mail once it makes it to Thailand - the problems I have had over the years has always been from US Mail system sending to the wrong country and currently just getting here even if they do understand Thailand is not an island in the Caribbean someplace.

Some of them were before the mail stopped from the US because of travel restrictions but doesn't some mail get in by surface.

  6. For me no mail in six months and now getting emails from various agencies that my mail is being returned to them as undeliverable. My local post office said because the delivery person can't read English. So spent the time changing all my mail to go to a remailer located in the U.S. and have mail sent by DHL, UPS or FEDX. Thai postal now is worthless.

And that answers the question about hospitalization how?

Also, death is a lagging indicator. Anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 weeks. And deaths are now beginning to increase. Give how much infections have spiked, the deaths will spike too.

The death rates are trending down not going up but new cases are going up and most of them young people with mild infections.

This topic and many other posts just show how much expats trust the Thai government, we all know there is an amnesty until the 31st this month, but still many still do their 90 day reporting.

No one distrusts the Thai government more than me, but I am not frightened of any of their IOs, I will not make any 90 day reports until the amnesty is over, and if any IOs tell me I should have reported last June, they will hear me loud and clear.

Dont think its about trust but knowing starting 1 Aug immigration is going to be packed with customers. Doing it now is smart. Did mine on 2 July and took maybe 5 minutes.
