  1. I believe it pretty much states that you have to take the credit card that paid for the flight when checking in for your flight on all bookings. I have never been asked to produce my credit card at check in.

I have flown TG out of BKK probably 80-100 times in the past 6 years, every time booked online and every time without exception asked for my card at check in. Never a problem as I always had the card, only ever some delay once because the card I had used to book had expired and i had cut it in 4, needing a supervisor to attend (luckily I had the pieces with me).

As posted above, TG publish specific instructions (albeit contradictory in some parts) how to handle buying a ticket for someone but not traveling with them.

    +1

Always been asked to show the card even as a frequent flyer with gold card.

  2. My 1 year non imm B will reach 12 months in July. Can anyone tell me if I can do one last border run and get an additional 3 months to make it a total of 15 months in all? Ive been told this is the norm, but just wanted to check here first.

    thanks

Yes, if you have a non-b multi entry just do a visa run the day before your visa expire and you will get another 3 months.

  3. did u use an agent and if so, who?

I have spoken to three different agents ( banana guest house, Jims place and Minigood hotel -where i did it before an got it back by noon) and all can guarantee back by noon so can make the 2:15 flight.

I used mingood and was told 2.30 is the earliest to pick up a B-visa. He did mention that tourist visas could be done quicker. I also asked banana guest house and they said they could have it done by noon for 200 MYR, also another shop on that street said they could have it back by noon for 270 MYR.

  4. This sadly exactly describes my experiences of Thai village life.
After the sun goes down, nearly all the men drink and fight until they fall over.

Same as my experience of Isaan. How could someone built a house there and not be aware of this? Have the OP even seen where his money for the house went?
  5. Why would anyone want to travel to a country like India?

Why wouldn't someone like to travel to india unless it does not suit ones budget, have time restrains or he is ignorant about facts of Indian history, traditions, culture and others aspects that makes the country so special or else has visa issues provided that one is really looking forward to explore a different art of living all-together.

I would like to the the opportunity to invest my time and let you know about few facts which you might not be aware of , which made you to ask such a question.

Here are just few( i really mean it JUST few) facts about India that may surprise you :

There is 17 major languages which the government accepts and 844 dialects spoken in India and over 1300 of regional languages. along with that every 200 miles you travel irrespective of the fact which direction you are traveling towards, the food, traditions , culture, dialects, weather, choices and the interest of activities changes.

Vsiting india is like visiting over 15 countries at the same time , unlike other countries wherein most of the things remain unchanged as long as you are in the same country. you will visit country with most diverse culture and society and yet in the same country.

When you talk about india to people who have been there and have spend a long span of time in the country can give you a better idea about what's so special about it.

India was one of the richest countries on earth until the British invasion in the early 17th century.

Every major world religion is represented in India. Additionally, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism all originated in India and you can still see signs of their orientation as well as the tradition , culture , eating habits and the the attire they wear depending upon their traditions.

India is 7th largest country in the world AND one of the most ancient and living civilizations (at least 10, 000 years old).

India is the world’s largest, oldest, continuous civilisation.

India never invaded any country in her last 10,000 years of history.

india is 2nd largest English speaking nation in the world, making it easier for tourists to travel.

GM of Hewlett Packard, Chief Executives of CitiBank, Mckinsey & Stanchart, founder and creator of Hotmail, creator of Pentium chip are all Indians.

    few accomplishments

India has the second largest pool of Scientists and Engineers in the World

    Indians abroad

    * 38% of Doctors in America are Indians.

    * 12% of Scientists in America are Indians.

    * 36% of NASA employees are Indians.

    * 34% of Microsoft employees are Indians.

    * 28% of IBM employees are Indians.

    * 13% of Xerox employees are Indians.

The number of births that occur in India each year is more than the whole population of Australia.

India has the most number of mosques. It has 300,000 mosques which is much more than the Muslim world , though the majority is Hindu community.

Indians hold prominent places both internationally and in the United States. For example, the co-founder of Sun Microsystems (Vinod Khosla), the creator of the Pentium chip (Vinod Dahm), the founder/creator of Hotmail (Sabeer Bhatia), and the GM of Hewlett-Packard (Rajiv Gupta) are all Indian

It's a place worth visiting with many special facts which you may not be able to find in rest of the world especially when you will get 57 inr for 1 dollars which definitely makes traveling more inexpensive as india rupee fell drastically which makes this time the best time to travel.

Hope the information provided above answers your question.

I understand you have a reason to go back there since you are Indian.

But for everyone else, why would anyone want To go to India when the government support/ignore the Indian rape culture!?

Since u mention some big companies I think one reason to go India could be to open A child working factory. Another reason would be to travel to like Goa and do some dope, other than that I see no reason traveling there.

  6. Penang is issuing them as long as u have a work permit

Heading down monday for the gf's wp, doing it via Minigood hotel as they will have it back by noon the next day so we can make the return Firefly flight to Phuket

    550 + 30 MYR service charge

550 + 50 MYR and get it back at 2.30

  7. The police then charged them both with physical assault and locked them in separate holding cells.

The couple appeared in court this morning and admitted the charges. They are currently still in custody because – with their belongings having been stolen – they do not have the funds to make bail.

I thought physical assault was a 500 baht fine? Wasn't that what a tuk tuk driver was fined not long ago after beating some tourist?

  8. Are you kidding me? I am a full time Muay Thai coach and have been in the sport for over 20 years. Sadly, I have met more junkies in boxing/muay thai than in rock bands. It starts with injuries, getting hooked on pain killers, and eventually turning to harder stuff when the pills aren't available. Did you ever see the 'Smashing Machine'? It was a doco about MMA fighter Mark Kerr and his struggle with opiate addiction. That said, the circumstances do sound fishy. Junkies do die with the needle in their arm quite often. If they are used to getting 'stepped on' products back home and then find a batch that is super pure, it is bound to happen. The ugly truth of ALL pro sports is steroid use and pain killers. Nobody wants to admit it until stuff like this happens. BTW--quite a few of my Thai trainers are usually stoned while on the job holding pads too. Don't act like Thai gyms are a Buddhist temple. There is more dirt than you think.

Agree with you regarding Thai gyms. Some gyms I trained at the Thai trainers never made it for the morning session but rather just woke up in time for the afternoon session. Then started drinking Again just after training. Felt sorry for the young Thai boxers who lived and trained there.
