im sure prices rise long term. maybe slow periods but it will keep rising because its too cheap compared with the rest of asia.

the problem i have with bangkok condo market is that the stuff that gets passed off as "grade A" on this forum is, imho, pretty crappy. many of these 90-100k/m2 projects have the absolute simplest and cheapest interiors. it would not come close to passing as grade A in HK, Macau or Singapore... but thats just my opinion.

If money was not an issue, which condo would you pick within walking distance 5min's or so from Asoke BTS?

You may joke but there is a significant trade in copied "original car parts in Thailand - talk to any dealership about the problem. Take your car in for insurance work and the dealer has to supply a photo to the insurance company of all parts used, in their original boxes, set in front of the vehicle that will receive them.

yeah, that is why i didn't think they manufactured cars in Thailand, although I do remember now having heard about the Japanese complaining about business regulations last year. There must be an awesome number of Cops/Generals driving around in brand new cars which were "misplaced".

i am just using the word to describe myself, he is making an insuitation (racism) without proof or reasoning to support that he was overcharged because he was a farang and not because they thought he was a moron.

anything imported is crazy high priced compared to the usa, i have no idea about uk prices. but like a new car is twice as expensive which would make it very hard for me to rationalize buying one. stuff made here is cheap because labor is ridiculously cheap.

ok, i read the story. they did not tell him the charge was because he was a farang. so you can replace "ripped off farang" with "ripped off man willing to be ripped off"... a day does not go by where Thais dont try to rip eachother off. Taxis take the long way with Thais just like farangs. Its not racism, you are just an easy target because you don't stand up for yourself and choose to become a victim. Hence "ripped off farang".

you will do better buying in another country and renting there as thailand rents are very low, but if you dont want to be bothered, i mean, its real estate so youll definitely make money long term, just not a huge sum imo depending on how good/bad of a prop/loc you pick.
