  1. OK, this is a bit of hopeful fishing. I was last in Thailand 7 months ago and at that time I noticed that

Viper bar  in Jomtien and a few others on walking street didn't have any  CHEAP DRAFT BEER!

What's the scoop.?Draft beer is a bar hoppers standby. :)

Tell me draft  beer is making a comeback!

Research on what exactly. All the lifestyle changes in the world are not going to reverse conditions that have developed.

If I hadn't been on drugs, I wouldn't have had to take stroke prevention drugs for the last 15 years and may well be a cabbage or pushing up daisies.

Only one result that means anything to me.

Of course this is  a good philosophy and nobody is saying that there is no place for drugs, especially in emergency situations.

As for "conditions that have developed" not being reversible by Carnivore/Ketogenic or other dietary changes as well as other lifestyle changes, I beg to disagree though of course it depends on what that condition is. You might be surprised to see obesity

and even heart disease being reversed(the later is very difficult but possible) by dietary change (leading to weight loss). Just search on YouTube.

Some shops are cashless. I don't know how many in Thailand though. As I like brewed coffee, they don't always use the same bean variety, so in that sense, you don't get consistency. In general I would say they use light or medium roast, instead of dark roast for their brewed coffee.

I have never seen a shop in Thailand that is cashless though I have seen "cashless preferred" signs. As for Starbucks,  I did enjoy the free newspaper back in the day when people read em. . The nostalgia factor I guess. Yes they do have alternative milks such as almond "milk"which is something Amazon should pick up on. Not sure how good the Internet WiFi is  but Amazon is pretty fast for the digital nomads who want to work there. And for a basic cup of decent black coffee,no you shouldn't be paying  more than 40 Baht as they charge in Amazon.

    Well said Bill.

Lifestyle changes are good advice for the more youthful,  but at our age a bit more attention can quite literally be the difference between life and death.

lHmm..you may want to do some research. Even cardiologists such as Ken Berry on Youtube are emphasing lifestyle and diet over drugs. And I say this as a less than chronologically youthful  with first hand results from this.

  5. The latest market on Jomtien beach road seems cooler than the old one that was playing very bland music

kast week and seemed very boring compated to in the past.

Down the road is the new Jomtien beach Miami market which had a cooler vibe with Kareoke!.

     Who else digs it?

True. We are the only animals to drink milk beyond weaning. Cows milk fat is not compatible with the human gut post weaning. Goat, camel, and buffalo milks are however assimilated in the human gut.

Maybe for cow milk. My adult cats love the easily available goat milk here,

My drug reviews are as of an hour ago.

I am unsure how explicit I am allowed to be here about drugs, but it is available in at least every 4th bar. Brownies are less frequently spotted.

P4P is a hard sell to hippies who brought their own thin GF with them. Def some crazy thinness going on with the young women of today.

I'm sure it's around. Locals seem to be on the light skinned and Chinese-looking side. Dispatch SparkTrader immediately.

Great review LaosLover - far better than the whitewashed   , "nice spin" youtube videos

that are current about Pai- maybe you should vlog!

No wait, I spoke too soon, upon late afternoon arrival.

At 10 PM on a Friday night, it's hard to get a seat at any bar on the main drag and that goes for the side sois too. Street vendors are busy too.

So Israelis like before, and how about the others? Thai?  young backpackers?

I would expect some cannibals scene as it was always underground.

Has it got bigger than 12 years ago? Are there still 20 dollar a night hostels to be found>?

I'm going in a week, and some hotels are listed as sold out (usually the pricier end), so Pai seems on the upswing. I'll report back.

Relatedly, the Old City of Chiang Mai def feels a bit busy for a post-covid rainy season.

It was like that in Jomtien too with a lot of the tourists Thai or Vietnamese.

Agree, they probably shouldn't have bothered. Too long since the original.

The original was an overated, vile series anyways  - with the only good charcter and character dynamic  (the cop) being killed off in the first series.

  11. there was Frank, an older German guy who  used to live in agated community pre-covid in Jomtien.  Probably a master at some point in his life. There was A Norwegian named Thor who played on Jomtien and Daniel from Belgium.....I wonder if any of the are still around..

Myself, I am waiting to return round an if Things get more or less back to nrmal
