Driving licence renewal? DLT takes walk-in applications from now on
Gaccha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My 5 year car + motorbike licences are up for renewal next year. Besides the e-learning test, are there any other extras? All I did was peripheral vision and colour. Never did a video even though it was mentioned by members here 4 years ago. It might be relevant that I chose the division centre in west Bangkok. The hardest part was hanging around for 3 hours to get the licence created by their machines. The centre was busy. As well all government departments I always go late as by then the crowds have generally dispersed. -
The SP500 green flags are screaming BUY this week. The sheer number of indicators flashing green are remarkable. If you can rely on the past then by day 252, you can expect a return of 24%. Obviously we all have our own buying strategies, but to me, the key is to buy as a contrarian, when my gut says "don't!", when everyone says "don't!", that's my moment. Gentleman, if you can hear me over the screams to buy, and the terror of the doomsayers saying noooo, then I just want to say I'll talk again in 252 days.

My understanding is Zipmex have now received the second "tranche" of debt. They have also unfrozen the "Gold Coin" crypto, a stablecoin intended to match the value of gold.

Malaria and dengue fever cases likely to increase this year in Thailand
Gaccha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I got dengue last year in Bangkok. A horrible, unrelenting headache for 4 days; the only mild relief were hot showers for 15 minutes followed by 20 minute naps, and then the pain returned... for 4 days. -
New shingles vaccine Skyzoster available in Thailand
Gaccha replied to Arkady's topic in Health and Medicine
Not exactly glowing recommendations: "A recent Phase III clinical trial showed that SKYZoster is non-inferior compared to the control vaccine (Zostavax)." Looks like Shingrix is considerably superior since although "Sky Zoster won’t lose its competitive edge because it is much cheaper and convenient with one dose. Still the newcomer may quickly penetrate into the market despite its high price due to stronger effectiveness." Best wait for Shingrix. -
Lazada refund & Khasikorn Bank
Gaccha replied to Spellforce's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
The bank says somewhere that it can take 6 weeks. -
I am having major script error problems with my mobile keyboard so I can't respond to your sarcastic response with a neat response. But are you sure you are not confusing the requirements for opening at the Union Bank of India with the Union Bank of India UK? I could find none if those absurd requirements you mentioned. Protip: don't be sarcastic to somebody who has provided you with the answer you've sought on this entire thread.

I wish they'd sort this site out so it stopped doing it.

Slap on some Quadriderm cream (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory). You should get relief in a few days... but the scalp is very difficult to clear up so might take a couple of weeks of applying.

When I attempt to post content on this website, and only this website, at random moments several hundred lines will appear below the text. What is going on?

This screams air pollution. Stick some of the Klean Kare saltwater up your nose twice a day for a week.

Stupid me! I lent a lot of money to a Thai woman.
Gaccha replied to gingerandtabby's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What evidence do you have that you passed money to her? What evidence that you loaned it? How much in assets or income does she have? Perhaps think about: Did she start the business? Did you pay her the loan through a bank or with cash? -
The only non-electronic reading I see are class texts, work documents, manga and biographies of revered Thai monks.

As an update, although no news services have confirmed this, V Ventures, the venture capitalists who agreed to buy Zipmex for 100 million for a 90% share, have already provided the first tranche (I find it odd that the word "tranche" is used in this situation for lots of complex reasons that I won't go into). Apparently, they'll make themselves a creditor to the company in 5 batches of credit before then becoming an owner in April. At any point, I believe they could still back out but it seems a surprisingly canny investment so that is unlikely. Several experts have pointed out, to my surprise, that the debt owed by the bankrupt Babel Finance (around 35 million) is likely to be retrieved by Zipmex.

Marks & Spencers have a few varieties, all large enough for 3 or 4 people.
