Sandwash also doesn't get that dirty if you treat it once it's clean.
Saves on efforts ...but some people like to exercise ^^

This happens to me constantly, even last night I wore some hot soup bound for a bowl on the table Can we be a little more specific with the instructions anyone.... BUT, I do now have a rubber band collection.... what to do with all these tiny multicolores things???
When you have enough of them, you can make a rubber band ball. It will bounce of the walls roughly like a super ball, but with multicolored DIY look ^^

1. A statement I have to sign that I acknowledge to have 400K in the bank 3 months prior to the application. I asked the officer why we had to sign now since this law has been around for ages. She didn't really have any answer.
So that would mean we still can have extension with 400 k rather than 40k/ month ?
Or is it just because your hubby has grandfather married status ?

Easy to renew your passeport at your embassy here, provided you have been registered. That works whatever your Thai visa is, and enables you to stay rather than go back home (unless you want it ^^).
Just dont wait untill you have less than a month left !

Housing investments are like kids there are good times and bad times, but usually they turn out to be worth it.
And I assure you they last a lifetime
I have a horrible suspicion that we are now talking about the dead?
Hee Hee
At last a breeze of fresh air in this long and very interesting post. Thanks you guys, and to all the previous very instructive comments based on long-lasting experience from many posters.
I just bought my first 'box of air above the land', and on the way to buying a 'piece of dirt' somewhere else. I must admit I really enjoy the taste of it, and will continue every time I will get a chance ^^
May it last a lifetime...

Another fake passport bust. This is why I worry about the US having one of the steps of production for all passports in Thailand.
Wow ! I didn't know US administration could be so uncautious... Scary that they forced other countries to match their own criterias ! Would that mean other countries must have one of the steps of production for their passports at the mercy of a well known counterfeiting paradise, say... China ?

The NE already gets a lot of the money that comes from farangs, from sponsorships, building homes and buying of cars. If they no longer come south to work, they would be losing those sources of income. I would imagine that a tourism job is not going to make up for the loss of some sponsor sending 25K per month for doing nothing but staying in Isaan.
Well, going to Udon and Khon Kaen on a regular basis, I'm impressed that so much 'sponsorship' and other inputs to local economy comes from sponsoring a much younger woman. On that aspect of the situation, I guess that developping more local activities, natural, historical... etc can only do good.
The downturn would rather come from an ill intended/applied policy, wich would turn out to be incentives for promoteurs and investeurs of all kind to increase to price of the land through speculation like what happened in the south.
How can the regular local people afford to buy land now ? What will happen of those score of farmers who will be tricked into selling their land for the price of a car, and can hope nothing for their future ?
I hope this is not what will happen to Isaan in a near future, but I guess it will be unavoidble under the sacro-saint label of 'development' we hear so much from politicians...
Isaan is one of the few remaining easy going place at the moment in Thailand, enjoy while you still can !

So what are the implications if Thai people are told there are ghosts in their mobile phones?
Mwahahahaha !!!
What a wonderful software anyways, too bad it's 50 US ! Anybody got a link for a free pirate ? Is it in Panthip already ?
Soljenitsyne, Huxley, Orwell and many other writers who are thougth to be boring nowadays would write wonderful stories about the world we live in now ! Hail to progress !

Excellent post, Thank you all !
Good work Pond life, quite useful ! How about adding latin names to the list too ?
btw, I often get squares instead of thai script for about 3/4 of the thai names in the document. How can I correct that ?
