British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay
MikeandDow replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
Wrong again !!! immigration do NOT provide a ticket Once you have a tentative date of repatriation, you or your representative will have to arrange to get a ticket to leave Thailand and return to your country. You will also need to settle the fee for your transportation to the airport. you need to research before posting -
British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay
MikeandDow replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
If you only post PART of my post and have alter the context of the post which you can clearly see I was asking a Question ? there is a signed Mou on the subject also Thailand is state party to the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which prohibits the arbitrary or unlawful detention of a child. The CRC also allows for the separation of a child from his or her parents against their will only when “competent authorities subject to judicial review determine . . . that such separation is necessary for the best interests of the child.” Article 22 of the Child Protection Act of 2003 requires the best interest of the child to be given primary importance when considering the treatment of a child. so iam asking the Question by deporting the guy away from his family is this not a breach of his human rights ? -

Thailand's New 300-Baht Tourism Tax: Aid or Hindrance?
MikeandDow replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Incorrect The tax will apply to the vast majority of foreign visitors to Thailand, though there are some important exceptions. Infants under two, transit passengers, diplomats, and individuals holding authorized Thai work permits will be exempt from paying the fee. However, long-term residents, retirees, and other non-immigrant visa holders will be required to pay the tax, including those who may not typically view themselves as tourists. This includes individuals holding the Destination Thailand Visa, the Privilege or Elite card, and other long-term visas. The position of 10-year Long-Term Residence visa holders and permanent residents is still under review, with officials yet to clarify whether these groups will be subject to the tax. -

Thailand Faces Backlash Over Secret Uyghur Deportation to China
MikeandDow replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention which means they are not legally bound by its provisions regarding refugee protection; this means that Thailand does not have a specific legal framework for protecting refugees within its borders and they may be treated as illegal immigrants if they do not have a valid visa No legal status for refugees: Due to non-signature, refugees in Thailand lack legal status and can be at risk of arrest and deportation. -

Opposition Files No-Confidence Motion Against Thai Prime Minister
MikeandDow replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This guy is Totaly correct incompetence and corruption she does not know what is going on !! They deported 40 Uyghur detainees who had been in the country for nearly 11 years, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said she had not looked into the details of the matter Phil Robertson, the Bangkok-based director of Asia Human Rights and Labour Advocates. Has said Thailand should resign its seat on the UN Human Rights Council “to show responsibility for its outrageous and unacceptable action”. Who is running this country !! its not the Shinawatra -
Thaksin's Peace Promise for South Sparks Doubts and Debate
MikeandDow replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is a fine line, Thailand courts have no common law jurisdiction or power, but only those expressly conferred by the Constitution and statutes and those necessarily implied to make the express effective. The question of jurisdiction of the court over the case filed before it is to be resolved on the basis of the law or statute providing for or defining its jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of a court to try a criminal action is determined not by the law in force at the time of the commission of offense but by the law in force at the time of the institution of the action. Then you have to take in marshall law at the time simple saying (If the coup was illegal, then any convictions made during the period and indeed under any military coup government must also be illegal.) is a big leap !! -
