  1. Knew someone who went to the airport with a new passport and hadn't gotten the visa stamp entered into the new one and was arrested despite being well dressed, polite and with the overstay fine.

So, if you have a brand new passport that does not show your initial entry then it does become problematic. Best to have your original TM card too.

can not understand if new passport should still have old passport all he has to do is show old passport with stamps i think you have missunderstood or you are bullshitting ??

  2. Rose 496900 You do not understand visa's what you are quoting is an O-A visa which is a retirement Visa you can not work on a retirement visa O-A, this post is about an O visa (married to a Thai) on this visa you can work ie get a WP you need to check your facts before posting and you can do any work.

( They can issue a work permit on a non O visa but the purpose for such WP is volunteer work cause the non O visa is a catergory of visa that is not for working to earn income but if anyone does the volunteer work, that is OK but still need the WP.) this is pure bullshit.

  3. It is only open for Thai and Lao people. Went there a few weeks ago, just before it opened, and they were telling me that it would become an international crossing in about three month. Not sure if that will happen though. On the Thai side it is called the Poo Doo or Pu Du crossing and from there is about 40 km to Paklay in Laos. Thailand has provided a loan to Laos to upgrade the dirt road from the border crossing to the paved highway 4 in Laos which runs from the boder crossing north of Loei in Thailand to Xayaboury and on the Hongsa and/or Luang Prabang

They should have made it an international crossing from the beginning, no idea why they didn't - anyway, can you update us when it becomes an international crossing?

would be good if can get update i have to do a run next month i live 2hrs from the crossing away dont want to go to tak if i can help it bloody road is hopless

  6. Thanks to all for you input.

When I did the drivers licence (1 year) in March in CM, I had to give that residence certificate as proof of address, as it is on the drivers licence.

Now bought another car, wanted to have it in my name, that's the reason for wanting a new certificate. Tried without, but the man at the vehicle's office said "not possible". I needed a proof of address.

The embassy of my country doesn't issue such paper for people that are not registered with them, which is my case.

So the next step will be to try to get a yellow tambien baan once we get the normal one for our house that is being built.

    Cheers, have a nice day

Bad news. You need a Certificate of Residences to get a yellow Ta Bian Ban.

    incorrect

  7. Seems a few people are missing the point here. You are in Thailand and they have rules like any other country. You may have noticed the signs on the doors of immigration regarding dress and behaviour.

The one thing I have become aware of in this Kingdom is that there are laws and rules that are broken and those that are not. Have you ever seen a guy in a singlet in a temple? I don't understand why people think they can disregard these when it's so easy to make it easy!

100% correct it comes down to RESPECT which it seem is lacking in a lot of people and a brain who in there right mind, wanting a visa, would go into a gov office and present a photo of him in his underware sorry but the guy must have a screw loose

  8. If you have a yellow book you can get a Health Card from your local Hospital which entitles you to the same treatment as Thais. I should know as I have a Thai Health Card and go regularly to the Hospital FREE of charge and haven't been asked to pay one Baht. All Medications are free.

100 % correct have used the card at my local hospital many times, the treatment was first class and in my opion some times better than western hospitals. I do not pay for medical insurance Why ???

  9. One way around this problem would be for Thailand to insist that all foreigners entering the country pay to join the government scheme.

Then at least everyone in the country is covered. Those who want better can pay for private on top.

It must include all foreigners, Chinese, Burmese, tourists, et al, and all at the same price.

which is the 30 baht card

  10. Getting to Ventnor Avenue is a Pain, from the Airport the best way is by taxi cost about $50 AU do not attempt bus as if you are new to perth you will get lost I lived and worked in perth for over 30yrs and would not try and get the bus from airport to perth, but if you want to get the bus ie dont have any money would get the bus to the perth bus port then you can walk to venntor av but it up a steep hill towards Kings Park would take 20min walking done it may times as i worked in ventnor av

  11. Well, i have to thank everyone for the smack in the face reality check, you know i just never thought that the boy would be deprived of education, shows what i know. thought 6 months was just a standard holiday visit. What is an accepted amount of time for a minor to visit, 6 weeks summer holiday.

    Work it out for yourself.

Six weeks is OK for a kid to have a holiday during the Thai Songkran period. Six months is a no go for UK authorities for an immigrant kid.

Better you give your wife a reality check.

Verbal diarrhea from this poster does not know what he is talking about

  12. I sounds to me that you have scheme in place.

You can only have one UK passport unless you are a journalist working in the Middle East.

I suspect you have plans to circumvect the UK Border Agency's rules?

You really are becoming a person who gives wrong and dangerous advice, yet you just carry on without any apology or recognition of this.

You do not have to be " a journalist working in the middle east" to obtain a second UK passport. There are many reasons, and many professions, that allow you to obtain one. If you can provide a reasonable explanation why you need a second passport, eg your first passport is often with Embassies to obtain visas but you need to travel, then a second passport will be issued. You will need, as the OP says, a letter from your employer, or similar evidence, in order to get a second passport.

    Totally agree with your statement

"You really are becoming a person who gives wrong and dangerous advice, yet you just carry on without any apology or recognition of this."

but this applies to 99 percent of the members on this forum they give a lot of verbal diarrhea with out any care what they are saying, or any research

  13. Civil Registration Act 2008:
