  1. It was fun...this time we went around Tapae Gate instead of The River(like all the years before)...same same, but different..:)...less of the show, but pleasant and...quicker to get back home after...Happy Loi Kratong !!...:jap:

  2. I've been to Mae Hong Son before, but never did the loop...I think we may be going for this trip,so what are the good(economy) places to stay in Khun Yuan,or MHS ?You've mention booking early...Is it better to go all around by Mae Sariang,or use the "shortcut" via Doi Inthanon?...and witch direction, clockwise or counter-clockwise?...thanks...

  3. Hi guys...sorry for bringing it back, but my progress here is slow (mostly due to flooding) some places need couple of weeks to regroup etc. ...I've come across a set of wheels from Benz, very nice, but the front and the rear are different sizes...it would look weird on the FWD car,but out of curiosity, just wander if they will fit...the rear big ones are 19'x9.5 with 245/35-19 tires(front 19"x8.5 235s)....I've seen 235s19" fit on A4,but never 245s...what do you think ?? My mechanic thinks, that they may fit,but the wheels are in BKK,so I need to know this beforehand...thanks...BTW,the original wheels for this model are 15" 205/65-15...5 hole,112,High Positive Offset 45-40-35...

  4. The opposite for the new Isuzu 4 dr 3L AT,just reviled in CM Airport Plaza...very good looking in white pearl(+7K) color BTW,but -no deals...no free insurance,or registration,no freebies !!...well,they will give you 3K baht off,if you order the whole package for 13K ...

    Price for 2wd is 915K (922K for the white) 25% down,2.75%x60 month...BTW,4x4 top model is 994K !!

    ???...I'm not interested...and wonder,if anybody here would be...:o

    It's a sellers market..

If you can, I'd suggest holding off until April next year - by then everyone will have stock again (including the new BT-50), and the manufacturers will be begging for your business at the International Motor Show...

That could work,I guess, since my wife is getting Almera in January and my Audi is slow to sell...the only thing is that "I want it NOW!!",but that "now" is not now anyway...so I can wait couple of months longer...it's probably around 30 K in savings and much more,if can get the interest knocked down a little.....and it will be cool to see this BT-50 "in person"...B)

  6. If you like the new Colorado, but you're not much of the "truck" person, that is definitely a new SUV to consider...let be honest, there is nothing new out there...PJS very good, but the body style and "tiny" front door don't do much for me..sorry,if Trailblazer was available today,I'll buy it...but there will be new Ford SUV coming soon...dam_n,tough choices, but only in our dreams for now..."not available, cos of flooding"...:P

  7. I saw the Isuzu truck little display in Big C today and there was a banner showing the list of first time buyers refunds...for example the 4 dr AT priced at 915K gets 88K...I think the 2.2 T6 gets only 26K(?)...why such a big difference between them? The other truck priced 789K was getting 77K...that the price close to T6 799K? How do they rate that?

2-door pickups have only 3% excise tax, 4 door pickups have 12% excise tax..

The rebate offered is the excise tax value only, with a maximum refund of 100K.

...sorry for the confusion,I guess I was misinformed at the dealer ......so what should be a refund for the 4dr 2.2L T6?...

  8. I've signed in for the Almera couple of weeks ago and when ask for the "deal" the answer was 5K BHT off the 1st class insurance and that's it...the interest 2.65-2.85 %...Today another dealer had a show at the Airport Plaza(CM) and offered the same exactly deal...any possibilities of negotiations?...no!

...so it looks like there is not much one can do here(dressed up or not)...any different in BKK??...and BTW,the finance guy called us today, that we need to sign the contract asap...??Is that normal? I don't want to sign anything till I'm actually ready to purchase...any thoughts here?

As a guide, the current best rates from Thanachart are:

    12-48 Months: 2.35%

    60 Months: 2.50%

    72 Months: 2.70%

Other financiers will be similar, BUT you will need to be good negotiator to get these...

As for the deal, I'm sure you can do much better. I'd expect at least free insurance (~15K) and free registration (~5K), even for the base 400K Baht model. If CM dealers aren't playing ball, ring around dealers from neigboring provinces (Lampang, Chiang Rai, Phrae etc) and see what they'll do..

    Thanks...

  9. I must confess a serious transgression.......... I said 10 "Hail Marys" and 10 "Our Fathers" but I still don't feel better. sad.gif Last week I was trying to back into a very difficult parking space at one of the big department stores. The parking attendant kept blowing his whistle and would not stop. I don't mean blowing the whistle in any helpful manner it was one continuous stream of loud piercing loosing my mind please stop so I can think sound.........

I stopped my car in the middle of everything and asked the man to please stop so I can concentrate. BUT what I planned to say did not come out just right. My wife said it came out as "STOP BLOWING THAT STUPID WHISTLE!!!" After we finished shopping I apologized to the man and gave him a 50 Baht tip.

I know this would never happen to anyone else because all of you are more reserved whistling.gif

...:lol: you can be sure to see this guy again blowing his whistle even louder...gee,for 50 baht,it's worth it...:lol:

  10. ..."you are what you eat"...same with cars, better fuel means longer and healthier life for your car...the sticker E20 means only, that you can use it,but that's it...

And what is the best fuel for my car?

benzine 91 red,or gasohol 95 green(in my opinion !)...they use to be priced the same recently, until a few days ago, when the 91 red is up higher again...newer cars should be OK on the 95 gasohol thou...

Been using green Gasahol 95, as fuel here is completely and utterly confusing I will continue to use it.. my brain can not cope with to many different things, what did you say lol

    ...exactly that...;)

  12. I tried a couple last night down at Rider's Corner. At first taste a little bit bland, but actually quite nice a bottle or two down the road. A slightly malty but very clean and crisp taste, and I woke up this morning feeling "crisp" too - no Changover at all!

It may not be the answer to the prayers of beer lovers everywhere but I will certainly be drinking more - if only for a change from the regular beers available that I am bored to death with.

..." I will certainly be drinking more"...that can't be good...:lol:....but with the lack of availability of anything else at this price...why not ??;)

  13. Of course,I trust them ;)...but it's about locking yourself out of any better(or worse) possible deal,I guess.I don't like this one sided offer and was asking,if anybody else got anything better?? I remember when Mitsu offered 0% interest with 40% down and this will be something interesting,or even 1+%.but here the interest doesn't change after 25% down or more(locked at 2.85%).I hope this can change between particular dealerships...so is there anybody out there, who put up the deposit already, with some better info,or deals??

turn it around and think which dealer wants to work with you before you have a credit approval? Having an offer is not an approval, creditcheck takes signed forms, bank statements etc

signing forms does not put you in any negative position, on the contrary it puts you in a finance buyer position, able to do some real negotiations. Until then you are not really a buyer

I do it the other way around. Sign all docs with Tanachart, search for car, when I find it negotiations start with giving them my man in Tanacharts phonenumber, they call him, he says katabeachbum approved, zero down/ limit 1,8? mill baht. Now we can close a deal on car and interest. Tanachart has its interest, lower interest is paid by supplier/dealer.

The day before delivery Tanachart fills out the signed forms, I approve them on delivery, and finance becomes valid

Credit check should not be a problem, specially if you offer to pay 30-40% down...as long as terms are open...??

As a general guide, freebies/discount will be around 5-6% if financing (up to 10-12% during some campaigns), vs. 2-3% freebies/discount for cash. Assuming a good negotiation..

Of course they want you to sign asap..............They want money.

Play bluff poker and you will be the winner at the end. When I bought the Navara about 20 months ago all dealers offered a finance at 3.25% untiill the final dealer offered me finance by Nissan leasing at 2.70%.Every dealer would have been able to offer me that same finance but didn't want because their commission would be much less.

Edit to add: Don't ask them what's the deal...........Tell them what's the deal

You need to sign the credit check form before any finance can be approved. usually one signs all docs at same time, and they are not valid unless you have taken delivery of purchase.

They trust you by lending you money, would be od to not trust them

  15. Free insurence 20000 but I guess you get this also if you buy cash.

Right? (But OK, lets say no)

    Free stuff= 10000 ?
