  1. Burp and fart more, dare ya! ????
  2. Seriously we weren't then but analysis of the the ratios of different water isotopes in ice cores can be used to determine historical temperatures.
  3. Let's put things in perspective a bit. The last ice age ended about 10ka ago and at the height of this (20ka) the oceans were about 120m lower than now. About 125ka ago, the last warm period saw seas at around 5.5m higher than they are now. So, although much slower, this shows that certain factors have contributed to, and affected, the climate on a huge scale long before any human influence/activity could have altered much. Now, we are still in this continuing long-term warming period, which must also have some small effect, even now. https://www.usgs.gov/media/images/coastline-eastern-us-changesslowly#:~:text=During the last ice age glaciers covered almost one-third,higher than they are now. It is also well recorded that Bangkok is sinking, with subsidence after excessive ground water extraction, which will raise local flooding risk. And years of mangrove clearance has also made for more flooding but this is slowly being reversed now (I hope). https://www.tcijthai.com/news/2015/08/english/5725
  4. They can amplify the effects of floods but the three are separate phenomena, driven by different engines.
  5. This problem was coincident with unusually (but predicted) high tides and seasonal weather. Spring tides generally occur twice per month, everywhere. There are many previous examples of flooding in this area for the same reasons. Tides and sea-level changes are not the same. Global sea-levels have been varying for billions of years.
  6. Suggest using your "primary" passport as normal for another 8 months or so, then renewing that in time for your retirement extension in 2023. Immigration should then transfer your Non O visa (free) and all the rest into your new (No.1) passport in September 2023. This is just to avoid showing No.2 pp and probable questions and confusion. Depends where you do it. If you only want to keep one pp, then suggest transferring all to No.2 pp next year and just let No.1 expire.
  7. The full moon of the 13th marked the first of 3 days of spring tides which were predicted to be higher than average springs. Flooding in Samut Prakan was worsened by strong winds off the sea, rain and poor drainage. The navy met office should know that the high tides will decrease in height from today, Saturday.
  8. Topic is Biden and his "thinking". Not Trump.
  9. True....but he is qualified and has been updating with supporting references and peers regularly since the Covid cat has been out of the bag. I would trust him as much as anyone.
  10. Most probable - maybe added some of the old knockout dust in his drink - my sympathies, even though he's a Chooks fan. Come on you Spurs....brush the dust off and 'av another go.
  11. Best to wait at least until 28th and see what happens then.
  12. That's because they were selling so much to China then.
  13. Completely different than in 1997. This is mainly to do with the USA and its policies, which have finally resulted in inflation. There is a high demand for dollars at the moment for various reasons but this may reverse soon, if it is shown that the US economy has weakened enough to prompt a bigger sell-off of US government and corporate bonds, and eventually dollars, abroad. Fear and sentiment will also drive the markets, rates and USD up or down.
  14. Finnair more directly affected than other European airlines trying fly to east Asia, due to Russian airspace restrictions after sanctions due to Ukraine invasion.
  15. I think the phrase in question was used 5x but you should watch it and see.
  16. You've shifted now to your own opinion of what constitutes fitness for office and how "free" the press is. Both debatable but also off topic.
