  1. Well it does say that in Article 50 (Treaty on European Union) anyway. So gracious of the EU to allow this, of course, but Brexit was so painful and difficult I always wondered if they had added it in by mistake? There were no hints of the bitter battle to come noted within the article. But that's the EU for you.
  2. Of course but that's just one item, not many.
  3. Not many important ones though, eh?
  4. Yes, I am courageous enough to do that, as long as you can accept that "press releases" were only a part of his job, which included leading patrols in hazardous areas, and that Bronze Stars are only awarded for service in combat zones (Hegseth has two of them).
  5. It would be great if you could get a written acknowledgement of your honest visit and their response. I've heard the same story from more than a few people. Did she ask you if you were a Villa fan? 🤩 UTV
  6. The topic line broadly suggests that the EU is anti-democratic, which it is.
  7. Hmmm...there's a lot of that about here, unfortunately. My best wishes to you. N
  8. BS - anyone that deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan was at some risk.
  9. You started on this "national election" tack but this single issue has limited effect on justice and law in any country where EU law has primacy.
  10. Singapore? Great idea. There has to be a change of planes there, which means nosy dogs checking the baggage and freight, at least. Silly Billy and his gang. Relatively lucky to get nabbed here but they will have to fess up 100%. This mastermind seems to be a bit of a plank too.
  11. Here's a basic fact: the national laws of EU member states are of secondary importance to EU laws, so judicial independence is worth little.
  12. Sorry to hear that, Chip. Hopefully you will get an extension. Doctors can be wrong sometimes. Enjoy what you can, when you can.
  13. TBF it is not formal military training by the armed forces. This academy is a private boarding school where students are are prepared for college. Cadet students may also take part in a military leadership program.
  14. Not really. The French were busy trying to colonize central North America to the early 1700's, from Baton Rouge, up the Mississippi and way further into Canada, (including Tennessee).
  15. So you keep saying, with no proof. You've gone straight off-topic again anyway,
  16. If you agree that the analogy with the Japanese crash and economic crisis of 1990 is fair, then you will have to agree that the US economy now is in a similarly dangerous "bubble". That bubble has not appeared overnight, but over 15 years of mainly very low interest rates and insanely high money creation via four rounds of QE (including the last during Covid). So Trump, or no Trump, and the Covid issue aside, this bubble is long overdue to pop.
  17. It was available on Sky before inclusion in the OP. Easy.
  18. The commitment to reach the 2% level was made in 2014 because the similar one in 2006 got nowhere! But yes, without Ukraine (Russia) they'd probably still be a$sing about.
