    • I visited  Chantaburi for a few years now and usually take some village kids out with a local  girlfriend , been to the waterfall and the coast many times ,  the aquarium in  Chao Lao .  Was wondering if there was anything else I've missed , they get older and a go kart track or similar would be nice ! Is it possible to hire a speed boat for similar for a few hours  on the water ?
  1. Without mentioning  the name , I went to one of the famous old gold shops in Chinatown -  it looked real shabby compared with the

modern red  air conditoned stores down the road  .   Also , I only saw  a few amulets on display , no gold chains etc .

Am I missing   something  here ?

  2. Easy to agree that climate change is happening  -  however to quote Sarah Palin  ( sorry about that )  " you don't have to tell me about climate change - I live in Alaska  - where we disagree is whether we think it's possible to do something  about it " .

Seems to me the first question is easy to answer and we never seem to get to the second part ..................

  3. I rent a flat in London - the tenant left   a horrible brown stain on the carpet -even " professionally cleaned ' couldn't fix it . I eventually found out that it was due to   suncream lotion  - apparently it's more and more common these days . Just a thought

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your views with us. I am new in Bangkok. Does anyone recommend me a cleaning service provider that can provide upholstery cleaning, carpet cleaning, Floor cleaning all three in services? So in this way, I could my time...

And within one of those religions some sects more than others.

And who gives Salafi groups inspiration and support?

And who was the inspiration behind ISIS and Al-Quaeda?

All roads lead to Riyadh and Wahhabism it seems.

Not all roads nausea  , a side road   was via the House of Saud and the  sympathetic Bush oil  dynasties who turned a very not very blind  eye to all that Al Qaeda and Bin Laden  nonsense -  until it hit them in the form  of a few rouge  planes flying towards the World Trade Centre ....

  6. About 5-6 years it was a real pleasure to drive down SCC to the lake and back  for lunch  , a relief from Pattaya noise and traffic .

I went there this year and was staggered as to how much it had changed . Almost   a 10 Km  continous ' Soi Buakao '  -no pavments ,  endless

    shophouses and businesses .

I'm sure it's all for the better but................

  7. So we now put faith in a former Gadaffi strongman who was fighting for his country in Chad , got captured  and  "turned " by the CIA  .

Heads up   an anti Gadaffi  " brigade '  based in the USA  and  after a failed  Libya attempted coup  attempt  lies low .

He then   turns up as a Libya strongman -    after all the heavy fighting has been done by others.

Should work out well for the Libyans !

I don't know if it's fair to blame him for starting the mess. The Saudis et alii were certainly encouraged by his reaction to the kind of reception that only a dictatorship can reliably muster. But he certainly helped to make it worse.

He's new to the job and maybe he didn't realize  those fireside chats over a Perrier water with the  Sheik

would   actually be -   actioned -  the next day  -   with fire and fury .

Seems the Qatari's needed a  bit of a shake down so maybe he's accomplished something "foreign'   to make up for the domestic stuff .
