  1. Why not make your own keyholder?

Remove the magnets from cheap magnetic refrigerator stickers, remove any plastic from carkey, and then have them all laminated in clear plastic and then fasten or stick it behind the rear licence plate.

Only problem I can forsee is the thickness of magnets/keys. Would laminating machines be able to cope with the thickness. If not, maybe asking at a laminating service whether the laminating plastic can be stuck together using the heat from a hair dryer. :o

  2. In over 200,000 kms of riding in Thailand I've only ever had two flats. First was on a small stepthru and the second was from a nail that I picked up from a carpark where I had left the Harley next to a wooden and corrugate-sheeted spirit house.

I ride in the R/H lane as much as possible and have never had any problem with tyres, either with flats or finding shallowly penetrated sharp objects in the tyres.

Only tyre problem I have is losing air pressure. Losing as much 14 lbs in a rear tyre on one occassion in the space of about 2 weeks sounds weird. Most of the time I'll only lose a couple of lbs.

Anyone ever noticed how it's nearly always the rear tyre that gets punctured? :o

  3. Why does everybody that wants a motorbike in Thailand get so excited about these little machines?

    200cc for gods sake!

I read a post onTV recently where they were argueing the pros and cons of Honda Waves and dreams. Give me a break.

I think for some it's their first ever bike that they've purchased or plan to own.

My first bike, a Harley 175 2-stroke, holds more fond memories for me than the several Bonnevilles and big twin Harleys that I owned later on. Because I remember clearly the near spills and close calls with death while learning to ride. Also the thrill of holding onto the bars for dear life while doing a staggering 50 mph for the first time, and of course the love and affection that was given to my new found joy. :D

It does bring a smile to my face though when someone posts a photo of their step-thru with the caption of 'This is my baby", but I can see where they're coming from. :o

I have an interest in upcountry Thailand and want a motorbike to look around on when we are up there. Why doesnt anyone use a dirt bike up there, maybe 250cc up.

I would say that a dirt bike or offroader is more ideal for riding through the countryside, towns and even cities, but they're not made here as far as I know.

An offroader certainly makes it easier to ride on muddy or dusty dirt roads, easier for riding through flooded areas with it's high ground clearance, pot holes and ruts are coped with a lot easier, the size and riding position is more suited for bigger riders too.

But the downside is that they're not very popular. So the question arises about spare parts, knowledgeable mechanics and I suppose the seat height of dirt/offroad bikes probably prevents popularity.

Ideally, a modified stepthru with raised suspension and on/offroad tyres plus maybe a change of bars and exhaust is the way to go, but everything I see sold as accessories are only for 'beautifying' or speed enhancement. :D

  4. One other question. I want travel alot, just take off for a week or so. I was wondering what to do with the bike when staying at a hotel? I stayed at a hotel in Udon once and just parked my motorbike outside in the parking lot. It didnt get stolen or damaged, but someone messed with it: turned on the lightswitch, kill button etc. What do most guys do with thier bikes when staying at a hotel?

I've stayed at many hotels over the years and have never had any problem with parking.

If someone has been fiddling with your switches then it'll be a security guy who's bored out of his skull just taking a mild interest in your bike. Having a security guard sitting on your bike means that it's not being stolen, so don't chase him off the bike.

Often, the hotel will let you park right near or opposite the main entrance, and some (small-time hotels) don't mind if you push the bike into your room.

  5. Ha Ha Ha Ha. Just wait till he tires of constant and monotonous 3somes with nubile identical twins and whose innocence is no doubt yeilding to the ferverous corruption of their undulating thighs and heaviing...pert......breasts........and.........the daily stroking of each others.......

Sorry, where was I? Oh yes, Hee Hee Hee Hee. Just wait till he tires of constant and monotonous 3somes with nubile identical twins and whose innocence is no doubt yeilding to the ferverous corruption of their undulating thighs and heaviing ...pert.......breasts........and.........the daily stroking of each others..........

Sorry, what I'm trying to say is.....I'm sure it won't be long before he gets bored with 3 somes and is begging them for a 4some.............perhaps.....with.........ermmm....the twins mother. It's quite possible she's retained a youthful appearance and............ and....... and........

  6. Just out of curiosity I searched for the topic that has generated more responses in tv but I wasn't able to find anything that beats RAIN..... with 2150,,,,anyone ever had the same curiosity?

Curiously I haven't been curious at all.

Just for curiousity's sake though, why are curious? :o

  7. Only last week there was eerie things happening in my house. One night, I went to bed with a half bottle of whiskey and in the morning..........it was empty. Also, during the night something must've hit me on the head 'cause I woke up with a throbbing headache. Whatever it was, it left a pool of sickly ectoplasm beside the bed. :o

  8. Talking about going off topic, members will typically go off topic at the mere mention of going off topic as they're the typical and topical kind of guys that you'll typically find on topical topics concerning 'going off topic' topics, especially typical, topical and tropical guys in the tropics like us.

    Bloody typical isn't it? :o

  9. I always use 'Safety' sunglasses that cost 100 baht for out riding on the mc. They're large and have side peices on the edge of the lens to protect the eyes when the sun is low and to one side. There's nothing worse than looking at a reflection of my eye on the back of a lens. :o

Combined with wearing a neckerchief over my face, I'm protected from the sun. If the glasses allowed UV rays to pass through, surely I would be left with some degree of tanning or burning around my eyes.

About 16 years of riding almost daily in Thailand and never had a problem with cheap glasses. :D

  10. Mae Sot= 10 USD or 500 baht. (only 4 entry/stamps in Passport )

Cambodia = One and a half passport pages used for 4 entry/exit stamps + Cambo visa)

Gazza, thats interesting. Each time I have been to Cambodia recently, its been 1 1/2 pages every time. The Cambo Visa is a page, the Exit from Thailand, Entry / Exit Cambo and re-entry to Thailand. So 1 full page and 4 imprints for every visit. When you look at the replacement cost of a Passport, the full page Visa's becomes a "Hidden Cost"

Replacement of a passport? You just add pages (free at your embassy)

The British Embassy doesn't add pages.

The 'Hidden Cost' isn't too bad if you do tri-monthly visa runs, but monthly runs soon fills up your passport.

I personally prefer, funnily enough, monthly runs. :o

  11. Just watch this space!!!! :D

If it continues it will be a first! :o

khunlungphudhu, I love your avatar, any significance?

(ps in a vain hope to re-start the thread! is this CPR for a thread?)

There's only two choices really when you think about it. Either CPR or 'The Kiss of Death'. :D

Yours has turned out to be CPR but this post of mine will probably be the latter. :D

  13. If you have your own transport then it would probably be easier going to the Pong Nam Ron/Cambodia crossing about 100kms further south from Aranyaprathet.

Pong Nam Ron takes longer to get than Aran, but you'll be stamped in and out within 10-15 mins.

    Just a thought.

  14. Asked the missus:

She was 14 y.o. when she operated a light switch for the very first time in her life in a neighbouring village who already was electrified, she was only a little anxious...

In the same year she also ate the first time with a fork, she had to look and copy the others how to use one and she said she was very awkward in the beginning...

With 16 she was confronted by an escalator and was scared like h.e.l.l :D !

Her friends helped her to handle the fear and ,as a Thai, she began to love it for the convenience :D .

Nowadays she makes about 100 000฿ a month...

What has how much money she earns go to do with anything? :D:D:D:o

:D:D:D sorry but i just cant stop laughing

Stop it Noodles! I'm starting to giggle myself now. You must have an infectious laugh. :D
