Are you THE Jeremy Spencer? I've just returned from the Amazon rainforest where I was asked by a pygmy from the Ooka-bolla-bonga tribe, if I knew a guy named Jeremy Spencer was still married to a Thai bargirl or not.
Now I finally know who they were talking about.

Apartments are usually one-roomed with a little bathroom in the corner. Two-roomed places are usually given the name condo. And contrary to what your wife says, most people rent apartments, not buy them.
Why don't you have someone walk/ride/drive around a housing estate (muubaan)in Phitsanulok and look for a townhouse for rent(usually 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2-3 rooms downstairs inc. kitchen. If your lucky maybe partly furninished too)
I've rented a few townhouses in the past here in Don Muang, Bkk and they were only 3,000 b a month. No surcharges on water, electricity or phone as at some apartments/condos.

12 years ago I was presented with a baby daughter in Nakhon Phanom that I named Hana. Mainly because I wanted her name to having a meaning as well as sounding like a falang name (Hanna/Hannah). Hana is the Japanese transcription meaning flower. The meaning was quite apt to, as my wife's name is Dokmai which is Thai for flower. I did want a middle name of 'Louise' but with the Thai pronunciation sounding too identical to the surname pronunciation of Lewis, made it very difficult to get a reliable Thai spelling, so I opted out for the middle name.
Registering her name was no problem. In fact my brother in law went into town to the office to do it. No problem whatsoever.

Quote: If you could become Thai for 48hrs with the aid of special magic or medicine that turned your hair black, your skin caramel, your eyes hazel and sunk the bridge of your nose, then what would you do?
I'd do the same as what Thais would do........Sleep for 2 days!!!!

My last border hop was at Mae Sot on 21 June, my third 30 day back-to-back in a row. Going up again on Monday. Only thing different about last border hop was that Thai Imm. wanted to know my home telephone number and then wrote it on their part of the TM form. What was that all about? Anyone know?

If you plan on coming back out here it may be wise to have an onward ticket to Cambodia. If you are BL'd and the Thai embassies haven't been notified then instead of BB airport Immigration sending you back home on the next flight, you'll still be able to have a holiday.

Can I cross from Mae Sot to Myawadi and back again? It's stated that a visa for Burma is needed but that sometimes they allow day trips. Are these 'day trips' like at Three Pagodas Pass whereby you can cross but don't actually get stamped? I've got a double entry imm and the first visa is due to finish.
Thanks in advance.

I always had the same problem too with finding the escalators at MBK near Siam Square. A potential death trap in the case of a fire if ever I saw one.
